For a beach wave, dry hair to 5% moisture left.  Take horizontal sections, starting in the nape.  The section should be just a little less than the width of the barrel of the brush.  Take 45 degree sections through this using the same width. Wrap the diagonal section into the brush, up and around the barrel. Heat until dry.  Cool it down quickly while unwrapping the section. This creates a softer curl to the hair on the outside, and a little stronger to the hair more insulated in the center.  As you get to the ends, spin the brush in the same direction as the curl pattern. Dropping the ends after 2-3 rotations.  Voila, instant beach babe hair!
