Spring 2018 Fashion, Nails, Home

Spring 2018. What’s on the horizon?  From a bold tomato red to a romantic yet elegant lavender, this spring season is bound to blossom with a fresh take on your favorite color trends. Here are a few ways  to incorporate this season’s trending colors into your everyday life.

Fashion- Press play on your pastels! Make a statement by pairing pastels with neutrals like a white or sand colored jacket and accessory. Team two pastel pieces together for a solid ensemble.

Nails– Ready or not, it’s sandal season! Before hitting the mall to see the newest spring shoes, why not get started with some fun nail polish colors to spice up your manicure and pedicure. Rose gold remains a favorite but brands have been adding some shimmer and shine to their collections for a more futuristic, galactic look.

Home Decor- Let spring inside! Add a new piece of artwork to incorporate trending colors into your home. This is an easy way to brighten up your space and gear up for the new season.

Paris Jackson Dress Was Tribute To Her Late Father

Paris Jackson

Paris Jackson (credit Getty Images)

Paris Jackson  at the Vanity Fair After Party at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday night  in Beverly Hills.  She looked stunning and goddess-like with the help of the fine work of celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker. Paris’ look is indeed an It’s a Glam Thing favorite!

“We fawned over classic Versace moments and decided to pay homage and pull inspiration from some of their most memorable runway moments.  A Spring Versace 2018 moment!!” said makeup artist Jo Baker.

Here is how it was done.

The Look Breakdown:

  • Skin Prep: Using a steamy face cloth I compressed it against her skin to open up the pores and soften the dry skin cells on the surface of her skin. I applied Dear by Renée® Gentle Facial Scrub  in circular motion around her face to buff away the dead skin cells. It made such a difference and she loved how clean and smooth her face felt afterwards. This helps the skincare sink in easily instead of having to try and fight its way through layers of unwanted grime. I then applied Dear by Renée® Ultra-Firming Eye around her cheek bones and upwards through her brow area for an instant hydrating lift and increased radiance.  With this harsh changeable winter weather I wanted to treat Paris lips with something new… the Dear by Renée® Microdermabrasion Exfoliant. This really helped loosen up the uneven rough skin texture and soften her lips overall! Great tip especially when wearing a pale nude lip!! (I also used it on the tops of my hands for an instant hand makeover!!). On Paris’s face I applied Dear by Renée® Youth Hydra Serum – a lightweight serum jam packed with hyalaronic acid and marine collagen. Glides on, sinks in quickly and stays moisture packed and protecting skins surface for hours underneath makeup!!

  • Skin/Cheeks: Because I spent a long time prepping Paris’s Skin foundation was barely needed. I dotted some of Nars Radiant concealer around her face and blended it in with my fingers tips- for a natural and luminous finish. I buffed some Cream Bronzer by Tom Ford across the apples of her cheeks to enhance her natural skin tone and to show off her naturally beautiful skin.

  • Eyes: I was so lucky to be given an exclusive sneak peek of PatMCgrath Labs latest Spring collection!!!! THRILLED to be exact!  One palette stood out to me as soon as I opened it! The Bright Pink Palette captivated me with pinky, rose gold, bold purple, mauve and gold tones! I applied the Iridescent Rose Gold shadow named “Pale Fire” across Paris’s eyelid. This color is exactly as the name would have you believe… a soft coral flame pastel tone with shimmering pink undertones- stunning. I winged out the corner of her eyes “Versace style” using the Matte Eyeshadow “Paranormal”. This flat Mauve tone was perfect to shape and create the desired shape… but wanting more drama and additional magic on her eyes, I swept several layers of “Euphoria” on top!! Euphoria is a heavenly Heather Lilac Shimmer shadow and added the perfect haze of lavender loveliness – Paris and I were mesmerized staring at the two colors married together!!  I finished this swept metallic shadow look off with a generous application of Sisley So Curl Mascara in Black top and bottom lashes for a sooty and striking lash finish!

Paris Ready To Wear Fashion Week

Paris Ready To Wear Fashion Week Sunday, March 4th at 6 pm at Les Invalides. The inspirations for Kristina Fidelskaya’s new Ready-to-Wear collection are multiple. A touch of androgyny in reference to Bowie coming out of the Carlyle Hotel in New York in the 70s. The  nonchalance of Parisian women walking down the Avenue Hoche in the 90’s blended with the timeless and chic simplicity of Elsa Peretti for Halston. With,  of course,  the presence of the signature Kristina Fidelskaya dress coat.

As the wife of the poet Henri de Regnier said about the creations of Mariano Fortuny, ” The dressesusually, have only one future, these dresses already seem to have a past that will add a graceful melancholy”. The collections of Kristina Fidelskaya have this striking particularity with the creations of Mariano Fortuny that is seen evident in her Autumn Winter 18-19 collection, ” Nuovo Inizio”.

A collection with a touch  of Montana, with its oversize shoulders, its precise silhouettes that mark and draw the waist, in a spirit of deconstruction , soft tailoring  and  natural elegance. Geoffrey Beene’s graphic line blends into the fluid movement of the silk fringes of the 1970s. A resolutely elegant wardrobe, easy to wear, but also and above all timeless, punctuated with coated shearling and silk mousseline fil coupe, for a cocooning effect.

Throughout the silhouettes, there is comforting pure cashmere mixed with laminated cotton, dry wool and silk, inspired by the colors and textures of the work of Alberto Burri on the combustion of vinyl, which one imagines taking life on a Stella Tennant.

You also can feel this signature, on the glossy gabardines for an ultra- soft touch, in the ebony black metallic jersey, the matt papery leather and the fluid silk fringes.

Kristina succeeds a mixture of idealized past and assumed modernity, a revisited search for lost  past, for a strong, rebellious  woman who can let go when she decides, and only then, the soft  flaw of  an immaculate white mousseline.

Designer Bags: The Next Big Thing in Wearable Tech

Purses haven’t changed much over time; they’re still basically cloth or leather pouches that hold your things. And that’s pretty boring. It’s long overdo that these accessories do more for you. With the emergence of wearable technology, your designer bag can now incorporate your everyday technology to make your life a little easier. The following are some of the best designer bags and their technological upgrades:

Electronics Compartments

You carry your smartphone with you everywhere, and it easily fits in your purse, but what about your other devices? You carry a laptop, tablet, e-reader, cords, chargers and batteries with you to and from work and when you travel. Unfortunately, your standard bag doesn’t account for these valuable devices. This is why designer bag company Knomo has created purses that keep everything safe and organized. Their bags include a padded laptop pouch, tablet holder and phone slip pocket for your devices. They also have a pen holder, key loop and a deep pocket to keep your other items without having to worry that they might scratch your electronics’ screens or get lost down at the bottom. When your purse feels like a black hole, this is the tech solution for you.

Charging Capabilities

You’re not always going to have access to a wall outlet where you can charge your smartphone, and you don’t always want to carry an external battery that can easily unplug inside your purse. This is where Kate Spade and Everpurse made a great technological partnership. Both parties were unwilling to sacrifice style and design for charging technology. They want to provide women with a seamless way to charge their phones without advertising it to the world or having ugly, flashy wearable technology stamped on the bag. They came up with a charging pouch inside the purse that is unobtrusive on the inside and invisible on the outside. It works with most major phone designs and sizes, such as the durable Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. They want this type of technology to become the standard where you don’t think of it as an add-on, but simply a part of the overall design.

Fashion Statements

Not all tech is meant to blend in; it’s meant to make a statement. VanDerWaals has come up with a line of bags that does just that. These purses are meant to have the ultimate customizable function with the ability to change color on a whim. The outside of the bag looks like a normal leather until you connect it with an app that enables you to change the colors of the outside. This provides you with the ability to change your look from day to night with the press of a button. Or, if you decide that you want to wear a different outfit that doesn’t match your purse, you can easily change the outside color. The bags also have charging stations inside of them to make sure your smartphone battery isn’t drained. With this type of technology, there are limitless options for customization with the help of apps in the future.

Purses no longer have to be sacks that can only carry your things. The major designers are starting to join the future with technology use and integration. With wearable tech advancing rapidly, these accessories are sure to become smarter, more useful and more stylish with each upgrade.
