Under the sea..”Sais Quoi” style

Seaweed is always greener… at TSPA! Thursday, Feb. 19, The Villages Salon Professional Academy surfaced life from under the sea in a photo shoot competition for fashion designer/ educator Gina Sais Quoi’s line of beautiful fashions! 4 models, 8 students, and a lifetime of memories, Gina held this competition for a chance for her students to experience editorial makeup/hair as well as see whose model will appear on her new fragrance. Now how exciting is that for the students? To be able to have their model showcased on a “Sais Quoi” fragrance bottle!? Dripping with glitter, clothed in shells, TSPA once again rocked the house!

Here are the models and names of the stylists:

I had the honor of being one of Gina’s models Thursday. Gina is a very sweet, beautiful person with a talent that is just through the roof. If you asked me to sum up her dresses in one word it would be…. STUNNING!!!! Every dress and every makeup/ hair look literally had its own theme. Taking Gina’s vision, the personality of each model and the personality/creativity of each student, combining it into one “walking ocean” design, showed that these students will be ready for anything in this industry!

Gina’s show and fragrance launching will be held on April 16 at the Orpheum in Tampa. Stay tuned to my blog for updates on the winner of the photo shoot competition and for the upcoming show! For more info on Gina Sais Quoi Designs visit www.ginasaisquoi.com

Move over toners! Heaven Skincare’s self healing hydrogels deliver an innovative alternative!

We’ve all used toners in conjunction with our skincare regimes. They’re usually applied after you cleanse your face to ready your skin for additional treatment products.

I’m happy to share a state-of-the-art product with you that goes beyond traditional skin toners!

Deborah Mitchell, “known as skin therapist to the stars” , has developed Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Hydrogels. “This self-healing hydrogel is technically made up of a cross-link network of organic polymer type molecules with a netlike composition!”
What this means for your skin is that hydrogels will:
clean
calm
prime
soothe
firm
nourish,
&
hydrate your skin!
!
"Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Hydrogels do everything a toner does and much more." “Heaven by Deborah Mitchell Hydrogels do everything a toner does and much more.”

Heaven Skincare’s self healing hydrogels provide so many benefits, and are available in three formulations to choose from for your particular skincare needs.

Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel

Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel

Hydration is the key in this anti-allergenic, desensitizing and anti-inflammatory hydrogel. Your sensitive skin, with Chamomile and Rose essential oil, will feel smooth and calm , while organic Witch Hazel freshens your skin as it improves the appearance of enlarged pores. As a “red-reducing” hydrogel, the Chamomile Desensitising Hydrogel is a great choice for extremely sensitive skin!

Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel

Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel

This hydrogel is appropriate for all skin types including oily and dry. It’s offers a boost while cooling distressed skin and helps refine the pores. The effect of peppermint and spearmint essential oils is very calming to the skin, and while lavender will soothe the skin, coconut will moisturise. Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel is a good blend to normalize oil and encourage a Ph balance.

Orange Flower Cell Renewal Hydrogel

Orange Flower Cell Renewal Hydrogel

This was the product that I had the opportunity to actually use. I’m always looking to keep my skin as youthful as possible, and I certainly was not disappointed with the Orange Flower Cell Renewal! It has a cooling and firming feel after I apply it each morning and evening after cleansing. It’s an anti-aging and pigment scar hydrogel! It also speeds cell renewal addressing exactly what I like to target in skin care products. One of the benefits listed is an “increase in firming action”. After applying the Orange Flower Hydrogel, the product penetrates my skin quickly, and I’m able to apply any other products or cosmetics that complete my finished look.

The hydrogels come in three sizes to fit any budget, and the smaller size is a perfect “travel size” or “Try Me” option to experience how well this product works! $78 (120ml)• $37.50 (30ml) • $19.50 (10ml)!

Baby Steps to Giving up the Binky

By Lisa Gal

Jennifer Ormond is the author of two children’s books currently for sale on Amazon.com and at BarnesandNoble.com. Baby’s Binky Box and DJ’s Allergies were written from Jennifer’s perspective as a mom seeing life through her children’s eyes. Baby’s Binky Box was written to teach children how to gently give up their pacifiers all on their own. With adorable illustrations by Curt Walstead, these books keep your children hooked and teach them in a flash. I’m sure more than one or two celebs have run into this issue, so what better way to help them out then to gift the Oscar nominees and talent in their Hollywood Swag Bag this weekend when they stay at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Deliciously Decadent Byron Bay Cookies

By Lisa Gal

When someone says it came from the bay, those of us in California usually think of San Francisco Bay. But Byron Bay Cookies are from a much farther bay clear on the other side of the globe in Australia, but so worth the wait. These decadent, beautifully boxed cookies are packed with the finest ingredients to make your mouth water. Their most popular cookie is their White Choc Chunk & Macadamia Nut, but Triple Choc Fudge and their shortbread biscuits sound pretty yummy too! The Oscar nominees and talent that will be guests of the Four Seasons Hotel this weekend will receive their very own box courtesy of Hollywood Swag Bag.

And the Oscar goes to…

Ever since I was little I always wondered what it would be like to walk the red carpet. How would I feel with all those cameras. Will I be so excited I can hardly contain myself? But most importantly what would I wear. Me I LOVE sparkle and red so my ideal red carpet look would be including red and silver together. I figure if your going to a show be the showstopper.

Weddington Way

Weddington Way

1. No red carpet look is complete without a beautiful dress. Weddington Way’s Social 8130 dress in Burgundy is my go to red carpet gown. With it’s asymmetrical skirt and mesh like fabric accenting the design is to me a true showstopper. I have always loved asymmetrical looks and with the mesh fabric’s rippling effect I would feel like I’m not walking but gliding down the red carpet. Those photographers wouldn’t know what hit them. hahahaha

Carmen Steffens Victoria

2. How can you walk a red carpet without shoes? And now it’s time to pull out those sparkles baby! With Carmen Steffens’ “Victoria” style shoes you may just blind someone..with your feet. This line of shoes are very comfortable and have the perfect height when it comes to heels. With just the right amount of sparkle, these heels can go from awards show to after party instantly.

Grandma's jewelry

3. We have shoes, we have a dress now it’s time for some jewels and what better jewelry to wear than a family heirloom. These rhinestones belonged to my grandmother. Even though they are very old they give off a certain elegance that, I find, lacks in some of the jewels you see today. Vintage is the new fashion and I think these particular rhinestones will turn any gown into red carpet glory!

Eyehadow

4. For those countless numbers of photos, a perfect makeup look is required. I say accentuate your best feature and I find mine to be my eyes. With this bold silver and black look the whole outfit ties together. Eye makeup, when chosen and put on right, can bring out every color you have chosen. Black and red always go well together and of course the silver tie giving this look an amazing photographic look. On the red carpet its all about those pictures.

Hair accessory

5. With my hair being shorter sometimes being able to give it a pretty style can be hard but when you add an accessory it’s all good! I chose this red and grayish flower clip to help show of the red in the dress but help tie in the silver.

Crackle nails

6. Last and definitely not least…NAILS!!! Snap, crackle and POP with some crackle nails. The perfect combo of silver with red crackle is the best finisher for my red carpet look. Its simple yet bold making this whole outfit scream “look at me”.

So there it is. My “one of a kind” red carpet look. Red, silver and black you ain’t going back. Work it COVERGIRL! For more info on the dress visit http://www.weddingtonway.com/all/bridesmaid-dresses.
