How to perfect your morning routine

Whether you are a morning person trying to make the most of your most productive hours, or somebody looking to become one, getting your morning routine in order is critically important. It all begins, of course, with getting a peaceful night’s sleep and waking up in plenty of time, but there is much more to it than just timings. Making and changing habits, planning and making time for relaxation all come to the fore when perfecting your morning.

  • Combing. Combing will reduce hair breakage, matting, dryness, and loss. You can use a finger-comb or a wide-tooth detangle to regularly and carefully comb your hair to reduce hair damage. Alternatively, use your fingers to detangle in case your hair is brittle or very fine, but don’t make it a habit. Always start combing from the ends, pulling down, then working your way up to limit breakage. Ensure you comb when your hair is damp and use a conditioner if the process seems painful or difficult. Avoid combing your hair when it’s too dry or too wet.

 

  • Styling and protecting. Pick any style that fancies you and experiment with them. Styles such as twists and buns can work perfectly when you feel exhausted. Also, ensure that you are weary of product buildup that you use in styling. Use a bonnet to shield your hair at night and sleep on satin or silk pillowcase. Further, shield your hair against extreme conditions using scarves.

 

  • Consistency. For your routine to work, you need to stick to it. Create a biweekly or weekly routine to sync with your other established routines. It will enhance your hair routine as a habit, therefore, making it easy to remember. Remember to keep it modest to limit chances of discouragement. Integrate a styling that requires low maintenance and, most importantly, establish a calendar to help you schedule. Another effective mechanism to maintain consistency entails getting an accountability friend. You need someone who can check in on you every one or two weeks to keep you on toes.
