My Current Skin Care Routine

Lately people have bee asking me what my current skin care routine is and what products I have been using. I am very flattered they ask so I thought I would share them with everyone. Skin care has always been my passion so I tend to try new products all the time. I will share my current fave skin care finds. (mind you I have very oily, acne prone skin so some of these may not work on those whose skin is either dry, combination, or normal) I look at skincare as medication. When you go to the doctor he/she will sometimes give you more than one medication to take. So having 1 or 2 different cleansers and moisturizers may be just what your skin needs.

Ok the first and MOST important part of any skin care routine is….water. No matter if you have any skin type, water will add moisture and a healthy glow to your skin. As it has been proven drinking 8, 8oz glasses of water a day is beneficial to your overall health. If your not a big water drinker start slowly and start gradually increasing your intake. After 2 weeks you will notice an a difference not only in your skin but your body as well. I have always said that beauty starts from the inside so start by cleaning your body of all the toxins. I have also found cutting down on dairy and sugary products has helped as well.

St. Ives

St. Ives

My two favorite cleansers are Systéme 41 Gentle Purifying Cleanser and St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. 5 times a week I use the Systeme 41 Gente Purifying Cleanser to help erase all the everyday makeup, dirt and whatnot that our pores tend to attract. Infused with the Apple Stem cell, Systéme 41 is gentle enough for even the most sensitive of skin (if I can use it so can you 😉 and is made for all skin types. The other 2 I exfoliate with my St. Ives Apricot Scrub ( people with oily skin should exfoliate at least 2 times a week where people with dry or combination skin should exfoliate at least 3 times a week). Exfoliating not only breaks down dead skin cells but also speeds up the production of sebum (oil) in the skin. Having a little bit of oil is good but an over abundance causes acne.

Murad

Murad

Facial masks are my favorite time of the week. I prefer to use a facial mask on the days I exfoliate to help aid the break down of dead skin and cleansing of the pores. My favorite mask right now is the Aveda Clay Mask. Now this is another product made for oily skin. If you have dry, combination or normal a gel mask is the best for you. The Aveda Clay Mask is left on for ten minutes and sucks out all the debris from inside the pores. The other days I like to use my Murad Intensive C Radiance Peel mask. This mask is made for anti aging but is a great mask to help break down dead skin as well and adding radiance to your skin.

Night Cream S41

Night Cream S41

And last but definitely not least ( and probably the 2nd most important) is moisturizing . I again have 2 moisturizers that I LOVE. The first one is the Systéme 41 Day Treatment and Night Treatment. I like using these two from S41 when my skin is not as broken out because they are just a bit heavier than my other one. I am HUGE on anti aging. These two treatments will help slow down the production of fine lines and wrinkles all while keeping your skin soft and supple Just like the cleanser these two are made up of the apple stem cell. My second favorite moisturizer is the St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer. I use this one more than the Systéme 41 because my skin tends to break out very easily. This one is water based so it is great for all skin types and will not make your face feel greasy. Every morning I feel a difference in my skin even without touching it.

So there is my skin care routine as of now. I hope it helps you with your routine or at least gave you some options to choose from. Remember this is what works for me. Everyone is different so I hope you find these ideas helpful in finding your own skin care routine. I will post a blog soon on facial exercises I do as well that help tighten and tone. For more info on the products I use visit www.systeme41.com, www.stives.com, www.aveda.com and www.murad.com

All that Glitters is Gavée Gold

241179213

Gavée Gold is a spectacular new line of organic skincare created by, Tiffany Andersen a master medical aesthetician, and holistic health practitioner for over 20 years. While visiting Gavée Gold website gaveegold.com I discovered that Tiffany Anderson’s “passion in creating Gavée Gold began with her own health adversity after surviving a near death car accident and stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma she began to search out new ways to repair the body. In her search, she discovered rare elements with unique theraputic properties that help repair both internal and external health.Hence – Gavée Gold was born.”

This remarkable skincare line is formulated with only the highest concentrations of the purest botanicals, including peptides, botanical cell salts, antioxidants and food grade essential oils. The Gavée Gold Collection is free of toxic ingredients including, parabens, sulfates, and propylene glycol. Another fact that makes Gavée Gold quite unique is that it contains rare elements, such as liquid gold, ozone, and cell salts that make Gavée Gold a cutting edge skin care line.

The Gavée Gold Collection can be purchased individually and in full sizees. I found that the best way to sample the collection is with the  7-piece Gavée Gold Travel Kit. Not only can you sample 7 of their most exquisite products but you can easily pack them and go!  It contains all the products needed in achieving the most radiant skin ever!

Gold Citrus Cleanse is fabulous as it removes makeup and other impurities. Gavée Gold Citrus Cleanser is very gentle and will balance your skin’s PH.

Spritz a little Gold Citrus Mist on your face morning and evening after cleansing for the most refreshing feeling, you will love the delightful aroma. Containing Ozone oil, it is anti bacterial and  anti fungal and helps circulate pure oxygen through your pores, repairing cells.

Liquid Gold Peptides repairs and restores dry skin. The Peptides (proteins) are vital to the health and repair of the skin, especially after strong chemical peels, lasers, or sun damage. Liquid Gold tightens and brightens for beautiful skin.

Heart of Gold Elixir is formulated for those with low-oil producing skin types. We all want extra moisture in our skin Heart of Gold Elixir will ensure that. This elixir also contain powerful fruit extracts from Acia, Mangosteen, Noni and Gogi berry.

Royal Day Night Cream is exactly what the name says, it’s perfect for both day and night time moisturizing.  It contains  moisture sealing agents that will nourish your skin while helping to maintain your skin’s elasticity and sensitivity.

Golden Enzymes removes not only dead skin cells, but it also helps to “reestablish skin balance by reorganizing the ions in the skin with the liquid gold infusion”. The Alpha hydroxy acid it contains, diminishes cohesions of surface skin cells and re-texturizes your complexion.

Diamond Cell Salt Polish is one of my favoritesMy skin has really benefited from the pure Mother Cell Salts and 12 vital minerals needed for healthy skin contained in this gentle exfoliator. “It is formulated to help remove all traces of make-up and gently lift away oils. This powerful combination of liquid gold and cell salts provide skin with miraculous medicinal properties that help reverse the aging process.”

Hold on to Summer a Little Bit Longer With Justin Bieber “The Key”

 25986-01

Even with fall suddenly upon us and the start of school, who says we have to let go of summer just yet? Justin Bieber’s new perfume, “The Key” proves to us that we can in fact hold on to summer as long as we wish. When I first received the perfume I was immediately drawn in to the beautiful bottle in which the fragrance is held. It’s a stunning, white, tall and rectangular container that is accented softly with a gold plate that states the name of the perfume. Then hanging off the side is a golden key to perfectly fit the name. I then realized that as beautiful as the bottle is, the fragrance itself is even greater.

It’s a perfect mixture of energy and softness, giving off a glow that is sure to follow you throughout the day. With ingredients chosen by Justin himself there is a musky aspect to the smell which fits perfectly with the upcoming winter months, but the counter off fruits and floral allow us to keep holding on to the brightness and warmth behind the clouds. Justin Biebers “The Key” is the perfect gift for anyone as they take on a new year of school as well as someone who just wants to go for a night out. I personally know that I can use this perfume as an everyday add on to complete any ensemble, and leave me feeling as though I truly do have the key to a bright day!

You can find Justin Bieber’s new perfume The Key at macys.com

• Once the mix has reached desired temperature and thickness, apply to feet.

The Salon Center Presents The Taming of The ‘Do Hair Show

Every year hairstylists from all over Florida gather together to get some awesome continuing education at “The Taming Of The ‘Do” Hair Show in Orlando, Florida. The Salon Center( a salon product representative company) puts on this show were salons and stylist can attend to help enhance their styling skills by learning all about the latest products, cutting, up-dos, and treatment techniques. As a stylist myself I find it very beneficial and inspiring to attend these shows. It helps me remember why I entered the beauty industry. Even though at the moment I am not in a salon, I just want to keep myself up to date on the latest and greatest.

Framessi

Framessi

The beauty industry is an always changing industry. Every single day a stylist walks into a salon there is always something new to learn. Even stylist who have been doing hair for a while are kept up to date on the latest techniques. While there I attended a haircutting class by Framessi which is an Italian company. I also attended an up-do class by White Sands and a product knowledge class by, one of my favorite lines, Neuma (blog about Neuma coming soon)

The greatest thing about these hair shows is not only the education but the people you meet. You just never know who you will bump into. I ran into people I went to beauty school with, people from other countries and new friends. So, next time you enter your salon just think about how knowledgeable your stylist may be. Even if they have not attended this particular show, they probably have attended some form of education before. It’s not an easy industry but if you have a passion for it, it no longer feels like a job its a lifestyle.
