8th Annual Pink Pump Affair Tea and Fashion Show benefiting Special Needs Network

Sunday afternoon, May 15th saw a few hundred fashionable ladies come out to the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles for the 8th Annual Pink Pump Affair Tea and Fashion Show benefiting Special Needs Network. Special Needs Network President, television personality Areva Martin greeted celebrity guests on the Pink Carpet as everyone sipped champagne, delighted in chocolate covered strawberries and bid on silent auction items as they waited in anticipation for the festivities to begin.

Guests were treated to high tea, complete with courses that included fruits, an exquisite array of finger sandwiches and elegant desserts. Not a sound was heard while all eyes were on the Dena Burton fashion show as everyone watched gorgeous gowns and colorful pant and top ensembles light up the catwalk. Event supporters then bid for weekend getaways, gourmet wine parties, concert packages and other amazing experiences during the high-energy live auction portion of the program.

This year’s event was themed “The World Is Our Oyster” and honored women of distinction who have dedicated their life’s work to helping children. Honorees included boxer Laila Ali, Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Keuhl, women’s health specialist Dr. Gail N. Jackson and anchorwoman Gabriela Teissier on behalf of Univision Television 34. The Mistress of Ceremony was popular anchorwoman Pat Harvey from CBS2 Los Angeles. Other notable guests included actresses Shari Belafonte, Anna Maria Horsford and Kelsey Scott along with New Orleans Saints football player James Anderson, model-actress Eugenia Kuzmina and Dancing With The Stars’ Edyta Sliwinska.

The afternoon’s celebration ended with guests lining up to further indulge themselves in a candy bar where filling their bags with sweets and candies was encouraged. Of course a Tinsel Town event would not be complete without
everyone going home with yet another gift bag loaded with trinkets and treasures.

Special Needs Network is a Los Angeles based non-profit dedicated to providing education, advocacy, legislation and resources for those families with children on the autism spectrum and for those children with other special needs. For more information on Special Needs Network go to SNNLA.org.

Lauren’s Inspiration: Beautiful and natural.

Skin: I started with Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation and then gave her more of a glow with Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls in Sunkissed.

Eyes: I wanted to give her a soft golden bronze eye, so I used the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte. Then I applied Avon Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner in Brown Chocolate to the rim and finished with NEW Avon Big & Multiplied Volume Mascara in Black.

Lips: I kept her lips soft and natural with Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Rosedew.

Actress Hailee Steinfeld looked stunning at the 2016 Radio Disney Awards on April 30, 2016, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Hailee’s makeup artist Stephen Sollitto shares the scoop on how to recreate her red carpet look!

INSPIRATION: “I was inspired by her chic Michael Kors dress. It was so simple, yet with the stone trim at the bottom it was a knock out. I wanted to do a poppy lip especially since the dress was black. Also, as this was a Disney event, a red lip here felt too serious for the younger audience. This pink shade Hailee wore was playful as well as a great compliment to the entire look,” says Stephen.

GET THE LOOK – Here is Stephen’s step-by-step breakdown:

For an event like this where there’s a red carpet, a performance and an after party, fresh skin is essential for creating the perfect canvas. If it doesn’t look healthy – no makeup is going to help. So, to prep Hailee’s face I used Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask. This thermal mask gives you purified pores in just one minute. It has charcoal in it that heats up with water to open pores and draw out dirt and oil.
Once her skin was nourished, I used Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation.
Next, with a loose brush, I dusted Dior Diorskin Forever & Ever Control loose powder.
Then I started on her eyes –I wanted a bit of color, so I used an Antonym Pinkish pencil all over the lid and blended it out for a creamy warm look. Following this, at the lash line I drew on MAC Raven – a rich eggplant color.
Over that to soften the line, I brushed Laura Mercier Aubergine eye shadow – a beautiful sheeny purple.
Then to help make her eyes pop even more, I used two coats of Diorshow mascara.
For a flush of color I stippled on NARS blush in Outlaw – a great compliment to her eyes.
To top off the look – and to keep it as chic as the dress – I used Laura Mercier Lipstick in Pink Dust.

“Put a Ring on It” Workout – set photos & instructions

What a fun day as always on set at Your Carolina with Jack and Megan. Elizabeth Colen shared some photos.

Put a Ring on It

Need a chair and Pilates ring

1.) Sit with back against the chair hold the ring in your hands, arms straight out with palms

facing each other and pulse

2.) Sit at edge of chair but the ring between your knees and squeeze the ring hold count of 3 –

release and then repeat.

3.) Sit with back against the chair hold your arms out and bent like you are holding a big ball.

Grip the ring and squeeze for a count of 3 release and then repeat.

4.) Sit with back against the chair place the ring at your ankles put your legs straight out then

pulse.

Do this tabata style 30 seconds on 10 seconds off for 5 rounds.
