First things first, remember that you are wonderful as you are. That being said, if you enjoy dressing up, that is just as wonderful. Appreciate who you are however you present yourself to the world on any given day.

Get Your Hair Done

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to schedule an appointment at a Hair Salon. Find one that can do what you want. If you need a new style or color, a haircut and maintenance for your current look, or an expertly crafted updo, have the professionals do it all for you. You get to sit back, relax, and enjoy being taken care of.

Schedule the appointment for a few hours before you plan on going out so you have enough time to do everything you need to accomplish beforehand. Consider having your makeup done at the salon, as well. You will get extra TLC while having an expert apply your makeup with precision and care. You can even make getting your hair and makeup done a part of a Ladies’ Night Out event with your friends.

Prepare Your Purse

One thing everyone needs for a night out is a purse. Call it what you like, but the purpose is the same – to carry all your essentials because you absolutely have to have them with you, just in case.

While everyone will have a slightly different list of items to carry with them, here is a list to get you started:

  • Fully charged cell phone
  • Small, fully charged power bank and compatible cord
  • Credit card
  • Enough cash to get you home, in 20 dollar bills, in case your credit card does not work
  • Personal security device, such as an alarm or pepper spray
  • Small containers of makeup
  • Lipstick
  • Chapstick
  • Gum or breath mints
  • Eye Drops if you wear contacts
  • Travel sewing kit
  • Two or three emergency phone numbers written down, in case your phone dies or is lost

Be Mindful of Logistics

When you are going out, and perhaps plan on having a drink or two, you must plan your transportation accordingly. Regardless of whether you are alone or with others, make a plan and stick to it. Otherwise, inform someone if your plan changes, just to be safe.

Pay attention to your rideshare driver’s information. Take a photo of the license plate number and share it with a friend. If you are alone, let your friend track your phone until you call or Facetime to let them know you are securely inside your home.

Going out on the town can be a fun adventure or a relaxing night out. Pick the perfect style to wear, and have fun getting ready to be with the people you most enjoy spending time with.
