What to Pack In Your Beach Bag This Summer

Summer is here and many of us are beginning to plan or get ready for our summer breaks. Now, one of the most popular summer breaks by far is a beach holiday. Who wouldn’t want to wave goodbye to the office and set off for the beach and the sea with a book and cocktail in hand? This is a great way to kick back, relax and enjoy a break from the dull routine of day to day life. Of course, if you’re heading to the beach, you’re going to want to make sure you’re fully prepared, whether that’s a local beach or somewhere far overseas. Here are a few suggestions of what you might want to pack in your beach bag when you head away!

A Beach Bag

First, you’re going to need a good beach bag. Sure, any bag will work, but there are certain bags that do a better job than others. A good beach bag should be large in size – big enough to fit all of your essentials in. It should also be resistant to sand, as many bags could become damaged by repeat exposure to the exfoliating grains. Next, you may want to consider something waterproof, as many of us will experience splashes while spending time on the beach.

Sunscreen

One of the most important things to pack in your beach bag is sunscreen. When you’re spending time on the beach, you may find yourself in the open and exposed to the sun. This can be enjoyable, but your time will quickly be ruined if you find yourself with sunburn. Not only is this uncomfortable or even painful, but it’s also extremely bad for your health and wellbeing. Choose a good SPF and top up throughout the day. Also consider waterproof sunscreens if you’re going to be spending time in the water.

A Towel

You’re going to need something to sit or lie on and this is when a towel can come into play. A good beach towel will be durable and sturdy, able to handle the sand, and large enough for you to comfortably lie down on. It can also help you to dry off when you’ve been in the water.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another great option when spending time on the beach. If you want to look around, read, or do anything else, sunglasses can make the experience more comfortable, especially if your eyes are sensitive to light. Consider reading glass sunglasses from Caddis Life.

A Book

A lot of people enjoy reading a book or magazine while on the beach. So pack a favourite that you can flick the pages of while relaxing. Not much of a reader? You might enjoy an audiobook or podcast more. This allows you to lie back, eyes closed and enjoy the same great content audibly.

Insect Repellent

Some locations have more biting bugs than others. Having a good insect repellent on hand can help to ward them off and prevent bites.

These are just a few essentials you might like to pack in your beach bag. Each could come in really useful, so make sure to remember them!
