Getting Your Wardrobe Summer Ready

clothes on clothesline

Summer is fast approaching, which means we have longer days, warmer temperatures and better weather all round. It’s not all too surprising that many of us are turning to our wardrobes and rifling through, looking for outfits that not only look brighter, but are more comfortable for the warmer and hotter days too. Now, you may have a few items tucked away, but you may find that you need to invest in some more summer essentials to provide yourself with a summer wardrobe to be proud of. Here are a few items that you might want to look into and give a try!

Underwear

Of course, few people have specifically summer or winter related underwear. But you may find in the summer months that you do need a few different pairs of pants and bras to suit the weather and what you’re wearing. Large granny pants may be supportive, but they might not allow as much airflow as you need, creating sweaty circumstances. You may also find that you need the best strapless bras to wear with strapless summer dresses or tops that you may wish to wear.

Dresses

Speaking of summer dresses, you may want to ensure that you’ve got a few. Whether that’s to wear for your usual day to day routine or if you have an event coming up where you’d like to look particularly nice – perhaps a lunch, brunch, BBQ or day trip. Summer dresses often tend to be made from light and flowing material, allowing more airflow to the legs and other areas of your body. They tend to have short or no sleeves, thin straps and generally expose more of your body to the sun and breeze. There are countless styles to choose from, varying between tea dresses, swing dresses, maxi dresses and more. Browse different options and give them a try to see what suits your tastes.

Hats

In the winter, you may wear a variety of hats to keep your head warm. But that doesn’t mean hats are completely out for summer. Instead, they simply serve a different purpose. In summer, hats can be great for shielding your head, scalp and face from the sun, preventing excess sun exposure and potential sunburn. They can also shade you from the sun’s light, allowing you to see better. They tend to be made from more lightweight and breathable materials, such as straw, which can allow the breeze to pass through and provides ventilation, allowing heat to escape from your head and cooling you down.

Footwear

Summer footwear can vary from your usual wardrobe too. Sandals, flip flops, sliders and other lightweight and loose footwear tends to be a lot more popular at this time of year. You should make sure you have plenty of options to choose from, suitable for everything from lounging in the garden to heading to the shops or attending more formal events. The best shoes for summer let your feet breathe, preventing sweating and allowing air exposure to your feet.

Hopefully, some of the suggestions will be just what you’re looking for for the summer months!
