Are You Tired of Looking Tired?

Did you know that the average adult gets a little bit less than 7 hours of sleep per night? That may sound pretty good. If you have young kids, 7 hours may sound like a vacation. But it’s actually still not enough.

Despite what you may think, adults still do need a full 8 hours of sleep every night. Anything short of that leads to an on-going sleep deficit. And we don’t have to tell you what a lack of sleep can do to your skin and your appearance.

A lack of sleep can make you look perpetually run-down and add years to your appearance.

How do we fight this? A better night’s sleep is always going to be the best answer. But here are some other things you can do.

Blepharoplasty

Has work stress aged your face prematurely? Do you feel like you look tired all of the time, and much older than you actually are? Are you dealing with wrinkles, forehead creases, and drooping eyelids?

The skin surrounding our eyes loses elasticity as we age. This can cause the upper and lower eyelids to sag. This loose skin does more than just simply make us look tired, it can also impact our vision.

But you can fight this with a simple eyelid surgery to remove that excess skin. This can help give you a more youthful and rested appearance, while getting rid of puffy, saggy, or droopy-looking eyes.

This procedure has very little downtime and is growing in popularity among both men and women.

A Brow Lift

Your tired appearance could also be coming from your brow area.

You could be currently experiencing:

  •   A sagging forehead
  •   Forehead lines
  •   Brows that hang too low or too close to your eyes
  •   Deep vertical furrows between your eyebrows
  •   A receding hairline

A brow lift procedure can help you tighten things up, which can help you remove these lines or unevenness. Men that are seeing their hairlines move back may be interested in the so-called reverse brow lift, which would move the hairline forward.

A Neck Lift

Or maybe you’re experiencing localized fat or loose skin under your chin and on the front of your neck. This may be leading to a double chin or turkey neck. If this is the case, a neck lift can help.

This can help you restore a more rested and youthful look by giving you a more defined jawline and streamlined contours. This procedure can legitimately shave anywhere from 10-15 years off of your appearance, and make you look like you get 10 hours of sleep every night.

Of course, there is no substitute for getting a good night’s sleep. But if a few years of sleep deficit have taken its toll on your appearance, you can do something about it.

You can make sleep a priority and get a cosmetic procedure to try to take back some of the years on your face.
