A Guide for Cutting Costs on Your Beauty Products

Beauty and skincare products can be a large, ongoing investment for those wanting to take care of their skin and who enjoy wearing makeup. That’s why it’s key to save money wherever you can on beauty products, to keep costs down and be more free to enjoy your purchases without worrying about the price tag.

So how can you look to save money on your beauty products?

Look for Bulk Buy Deals

A lot of beauty brands will offer savings if you buy a certain number of products, such as 2 for 1 on makeup, or buy 1 get 1 free. It’s always worth buying in bulk if you can to make extra savings. If you know you’re going to need a certain product on a consistent basis, then buying in bulk means you will still use the product eventually.

Source from Alternative Stores

Buying direct from the brand may mean that you pay top price. There may be other stores or retailers, especially online, who sell the same products at a cheaper price. It’s always worth a look and to compare the various deals on the same products, to find the most affordable option.

Use Coupons

Finding coupons is a great way to save on beauty items. Sourcing coupons for larger online outlets, like using an eBay coupon, means you can have a larger choice for beauty products and save money wherever possible. Stores like eBay are also more likely to offer free shipping.

Make Sure You’re Buying the Right Products

Understanding the right product type for you is key to avoid wasting money or having to throw unsuitable products away. When experimenting with new products, understand your skin type to match with the most suitable skincare items, and understand the textures and colors you need for your makeup before you buy.

Stick to a brand you know and trust, and whose products you know have always been suitable for you in the past.

Take Advantage of Testers

It’s a good idea to always use testers for any new products you’re wanting to try out. This makes it easier to match the right skin tone or color of makeup.

Even if you’re looking to buy your beauty products online, you can still use a tester in-store to make sure that the product is right for you, and then go home and order it online.

Understand the Correct Portion Amounts

When using products like foundation, moisturizers or any other liquid product, using too much can be a waste. Often, you need a lot less than you think, as a pea-sized amount of moisturizer can go a long way.

Be sure to know how much of each product you should be using for even coverage so that you can avoid overdoing it and going through your products too quickly when you don’t need to.

Use Every Last Bit

Those products which come in tubes or containers may have a lot left in them if you can get inside them. For soft tubes, cut open the bottom to scrape out what’s left. For glass bottles, try taking the top off completely and getting to the inside of the tube instead of depending on a pump-action nozzle.
