How to: Volume Hack

  • Style hair as usual.
  • Add a leave in conditioner or water where volume is desired, usually around the face and crown of the head – try Design.Me Fab.Me Leave-in Treatment.
  • Insert a clip without teeth to prevent indents, right at the start of the part line.
  • Blow dry part line for 1-2 minutes until it is completely dry, it will lift immediately.
  • Touch up curls and style as needed – use Mint Tools 1.5” Curling Iron for added movement.
  • Add some texture spray like Design.ME Puff.Me Dry Texturing Spray and take out clip.

What to Expect from Your First Year at University?

You may be wondering where your new student life will lead you as you embark upon your first year at university. What can you expect? How will you cope with your new responsibilities? And will you manage to form new friendships with other like-minded individuals? Here is what you need to know. 

Getting into College 

Before you can begin your student life adventures, you need to get into university first. Unfortunately, depending on the school that you have your eye on, getting in can prove more difficult than you originally anticipated. 

For example, if you are wondering how to get into Purdue, as you can see on CampusReel, you will need to maintain an average GPA of around 3.66, as well as a score of at least 1195 on the SAT or 85 on the ACT. Be sure to start working on your applications early to ensure that you can submit all the important documents within the given deadline. 

Interesting Coursework 

What’s wonderful about furthering your education at university is the fact that you will be studying something that you actually enjoy, which is a major step up from high school where you were forced to take a number of subjects that you despised! This means that you might find it easier to put your head down and get some work done. 

However, do not underestimate the workload with which you are sure to be faced. Studying towards a degree requires plenty of hard work, focus, and dedication. Just try to manage your time effectively from day one and avoid temptation to procrastinate and you should be fine.

New Challenges 

The transition from high school to university is certain to come with a host of new challenges. You will need to learn how to take control of your own schedule and ensure that you ask for help when you need it. Unlike your school days, your lecturers are extremely unlikely to run after you in an effort to help you to pass. Your progress is entirely up to you. 

The Excitement of Your New-found Independence

For most, their first year of university also corresponds with their first year of real independence. You are probably going to be living away from home and will be able to call the shots in terms of what time you come home after a night out, what you eat for dinner, whether or not you make your bed. The list goes on and on. 

The important thing is to relish in this newfound control of your life but also to take responsibility for making smart decisions regarding your studies and your personal endeavors. Your exam results are sure to reflect it if you opt to party with your friends every night of the week. 

In short, your first year at university will be equal parts wonderful and equal parts challenging. Fear not, though. You got this far! With a bit of dedication and confidence, you will have your degree in your hands before you know it.
