With aging, recovery process of in the body of every animal goes down. Having said that, we mean, your body loses more than it generates such as the number of cells or cartilages. That’s why you start feeling weak and joint pain, for instance, with the growing age. In the process, you gradually lose physical strength to work etc. Your pets are no different. In other words, your glam pets too can become a patient of osteoarthritis (a degenerative joint disease) with age. But, the good news is that glucosamine for dogs, for instance, can bring a real difference to your dog’s wellbeing.

A few facts about your pet care:

Being the owner of a pet, it is your responsibility to keep a check on its behavior from time to time, especially if you are quite busy during the weekdays. Like you, there are, in fact, many who can’t really afford time playing with their pets. There’s nothing so sorry about it. However, coming to the point, you must check your pet’s behavior regularly. You may see that with the growing age, your dog, for instance, is losing its zeal to move around you looking for some cuddling etc. when you are at home. This can be read as an early symptom of a joint pain or the degenerative cartilage at the joints.

As a remedial measure here, you have to start with a regular dose of glucosamine for dogs under the advice of a vet. It is important to consult a doctor in the first place since your understanding about the pet’s unwillingness to mobility may not be correct. In fact, seeking a doctor’s advice works like a stitch in time that saves nine here.

What is glucosamine?

In simple words, glucosamine is an amino derivative of glucose (popularly known as sugar) that helps in the synthesis of lipids as well as glycosylated proteins in an animal body. However, the concentration of glucosamine is high in a healthy cartilage. It means with the growing age of your pet, the concentration of glucosamine in the cartilage goes down thereby makes the cartilage fragile. This results in joint pain.

It is important to mention here that glycosaminoglycan is naturally produced by your pet’s body. But, with aging, the production of it goes down thereby hinders the recovery process of tissues and the cartilage of your pet. Therefore, you need to give your pet an external dose of glucosamine to support the recovery process there. At the same time, you would require spending time in training and exercise your pet on weekends, to say the least, so that the pet remains active and lives long.

Glucosamine supplements:

There is no dearth of glucosamine supplements in any market around the world. However, you can give glucosamine hydrochloride, NAG 1000, and glucosamine sulfate to your pet as the supplement. However, glucosamine sulfate is the most common supplement used by the pet owners.

On the whole, your glam pets need a special care and attention with its’ growing age. Once you do that, your pets will remain healthy and active during its’ lifetime.
