A Beauty Sophisticate’s Lemonade w/ Drops of Lavender for HYNT by Abby Phon

unnamed-4

Certified holistic health and wellness coach ABBY PHON is back with a recipe that puts a sophisticated twist on an American summer classic, the Lemonade!

A key natural ingredient employed in Hynt’s skin caring formulations, a touch of Lavender in food and drinks add a subtle sweetness that pairs well with tart citrus flavors like lemons. This means that you can now get away with less sugar, too!

Why Lavender?

Lavender is the most used essential oil in the world and for good reason! For thousands of years, including the ancient Egyptians, and Greeks to the Romans, Lavender has been touted as a natural remedy to alleviate burns and scrapes, to calm inflamed skin, aid with eczema and other skin conditions as acne, cold sores, hay fever, dandruff and even bee stings. The scent of Lavender is also known to promote relaxation and sleep.

While Hynt uses organic lavender oil in their line for its beauty benefits, it’s also a must-have for many in the kitchen like Abby’s. Try adding a touch into various desserts, sweets and even savory dishes the next time — or simply keep a sprig in the kitchen or bath to ease you into a calm state of mind!

WHAT YOU NEED

3 organic lemons

1/2 cup raw local honey
(Alternatives are Agave, Maple Syrup or your preferred Sweetener)
6 cups filtered water
2 cups ice
1 drop Lavender essential oil
(Abby uses one from Young Living)

DIRECTIONS

Juice 3 Large Lemons
Add Filtered Water
Stir in Honey until well blended
Add 1 drop of Lavender Essential Oil
Add Ice and Stir
Enjoy!

TIP: If you don’t have access to food-grade Lavender essential oils, steep 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender in 1-2 cups hot water for 20-30 minutes then strain.
