Kendall Jenner’s Top Knot is so easy to achieve with KMS California

unnamed-1

Kendall Jenner rocked a chic top knot with an edgy flair of side swept bangs on the red carpet of the American Music Awards. Celebrity hairstylist, Etienne Ortega, created this sleek top knot look with the help of KMS California products. “My inspiration for Kendall’s look was a funky modern top knot with a wispy bang, that goes perfect with her high neck dress!” Here’s the scoop from Ortega on how to get Kendall’s red carpet look:

Step 1: Ortega used KMS California ADD VOLUME styling foam ($17.50) while the hair was damp and roughly blow dried her hair.

Step 2: Ortega used the KMS California HAIR PLAY messing cream ($20), putting a quarter size amount in his palms and worked it all throughout the hair to start creating a build up of texture.

Step 3: Then Ortega put her hair up into a pony, followed by twisting the hair into a fun top knot.

Step 4: To finish the look he used the KMS California HAIR PLAY playable texture ($20) to make her bangs textured, piecey and ready to hit the red carpet.

You only need an eyeliner for dramatic eyes

unnamed-9

A message from Linda Eisner from Pencil Me In Cosmetics:

No time in the morning to wear makeup? If there is anything you can do to your face that doesn’t take too much time but makes a huge impact on your appearance is to play up your eyes.

Make sure you have a nice tip on your eyeliner but not overly sharp where when you press the point may fall apart or drag your eye lids. Pencil Me In Cosmetics eyeliner comes with a built-in sharpener.
Make sure the pencil tip is at the right temperature. Oftentimes eyeliner pencils can be too cold to first apply. You can cup the eyeliner point in the palm of your hands to get it warmer and soften or even use your blow dryer real quick and at an arms length distance to not destroy the eyeliner but to warm it. Cold eyeliner is hard to apply. When eyeliner is the perfect temperate it goes on perfectly smooth.
A cat eye shown here doesn’t take a long time to do but makes a huge impact. Pencil Me In Cosmetics has a white eyeliner color called Snow. You don’t have to use just black or white for this look. Try a mix of a dark and light shade. We offer 30 various eyeliner shades. Experiment with our Amethyst dark purple and Orchid Sparks, a lighter purple.
Experiment with color. I can’t stress enough that we should not be afraid of colorful eyeliners. The day you wear a different colored eyeliner, I bet you someone will notice and for all the right reasons.

The New Trend…Feathered Brows

unnamed-2

“Big and bold is still the news for brows, but now they’re feathered,” says Tammy Fisher, brow expert at Boom Boom Brow Bar.

The feathered brow is softer and more feminine, because hair is trimmed less and brushed up in the front to create a feathered look. Usually longer brow hairs are trimmed, creating a solid defined line where cut, but the new feathered trend lets the majority of those longer hairs stand true, especially in the beginning of the brow. The diffused line it creates softens the shape of the brow and creates a more natural look. It was all over the runways…so brows are still big and bold, but the feathering makes them fresh and feminine.

Fisher advises growing brows in for about 4 to 6 weeks, until nice and full and then have them professionally shaped, while still keeping them as full as possible. They can be trimmed slightly, but hair has to be left long and irregular enough to achieve the feathered effect.

Maintaining Feathered Brows
· Brush brows up with a spoolie and set with a brow gel – try Boom Boom Brow-ssiere brow gel, it keeps brows set all day and never flakes!
· Get a brow tint – what good are those long hairs if you can’t see them? A tint will maximize the feathered effect.
· ALWAYS apply a brow powder with an angled brush to add color and definition, and always apply powder before applying gel.

Malynda Vigliotti (aka Boom Boom) is obsessed with brows – 130,000+ served at Boom Boom Brow Bar in NYC! Button Up For Fall 2015

Whilst walking the streets of New York City, I am already seeing the Fall 2015 fashion trends start to emerge. Some trends are actually re-emerging after 40 years, like the  button front denim skirt. This trendy skirt is unquestionably an important key item for the Fall 2015 season.

Pair this 70’s styled skirt with a t-shirt, turtleneck, sweater, or even embrace your inner flower child with a flowy floral top. I am obsessed with both the denim and corduroy version of this skirt. Each will give your outfit a unique tone when you match it with the perfect top and shoe style.

Affordable versions of this adorable button down skirt can be found at Forever 21, Macy’s and H&M.

Selfridges & Co.: Over 100 years of service

6 floors, every designer you can think of and even a hair salon Selfridges & Co. is a store that was built with one thing in mind, the customer. Founded & built in 1909 by an American man named Harry Gordon Selfridge, Selfridges department store changed the way the world (especially women) looked at shopping. While I was visiting London my mom and I took a detour to the well known Oxford Street & scoped out the one of a kind store.

Selfridges & Co.

Walking around and learning the history of the store I learned that Harry was the first person to ever install public restrooms & was one of the first stores to have & sell premade clothing. As his success grew, the more & more Mr. Selfridge tried to better the shopping experience. Whether you were there just to pick something up or wanted to spend the day, it really had something for everyone. Restaurants, hair salon and hey even a bedding department lol. And the customer service was top notch! Every employee wanted to make sure you got what you wanted, listened and had the best experience possible. This store made some of our department stores look like doll houses.

If you found that something’s may be to expensive, Harry solved that problem too by putting in cheaper priced items such as cards, ornaments and more. As I was told there was even something for every occasion such as Christmas, Halloween etc. The store display windows where decked with flowers and every designer had their own little boutique within the store. This place, oh how I wish I could show & share so much more with you but pictures and my words do not do it justice AT ALL!! Now don’t worry, I wont leave you hanging on this but YES you can buy from Selfridges and have them shipped over to the USA. Visit www.selfridges.com for all of the designers, makeup and more. Also check out pictures, & more history on the store by visiting any web browser. You will not believe your eyes and it will have you saying “Thank You Mr. Harry Gordon Selfridge”.
