Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Cotte D’Armes

The Thompson LES Hotel Rooftop was the perfect place for designer Clarence Ruth to present his Cotte D’Armes Spring/Summer 2013 fashion collection. LES, is the abbreviation for the Lower East Side, a part of Manhattan that borders on Chinatown, the East Village and Little Italy. In recent years the neighborhood has been transformed and filled with trendy stores, restaurants, bars, hotels and kept the long-time local eateries and stores, giving a somewhat gritty, yet fun, hip and young (and young at heart!) vibe.  Ruth’s collection of 18 looks, both male and female, certainly captured the essence of the hood!

The collection was mainly casual, relaxed pieces featuring denim, biker pants, and leggings. The pieces featured cut outs, bleaching, paint splattered patterns. The line paired contrasting colors and fabrics for a fun and funky look. The hats certainly added to the casual look, perfect for school, or a casual Saturday. However, with its fun and funky vibe, you could also throw some statement jewelry pieces on and head out to the clubs.

WWAKE provided the jewelry for the show. Styling was done by Ann Nguyen, makeup by Raul Otero, hair by Sheri Pinto and Amir Mughal provided the art installment.  To see Shawn Punch’s photos of the show go to http://www.examiner.com/slideshow/cotte-d-armes-spring-2013-fashion-presentation .
