Exercise For Your Age & Products For Exercise Days

Exercise is great, but, certain exercises can be more beneficial than others for different age groups. I actively participate in the  BoneBuildres of RI exercise classes. These are best suited for men and women over the age of 50. These classes are sponsored by The Village at Waterman Lake and only require a donation of $2 per class.

“The program is designed to be easily modified for each individual participant. The availability of multiple weight sizes allows all participants to start in their comfortable range of exertion and steadily progress as they get more comfortable with their ability. After more than a year of offering the program we’re excited to conclude that wellness is exactly what is achieved!” http://bonebuildersri.com/about-us/

For those of us over the age of 55, senior centers are the perfect place to find  exercise classes and programs for the senior age group. Yes, here in Rhode Island our senior centers give us access at age 55. Many centers offer Zumba, Yoga, Line Dancing, Tai Chi and more. Again for only a small donation fee for class and a maybe $10 to join. Let me tell you, today and 87 year old woman at Zumba class was “moving, moving, moving it like I could not believe!”

I also have a membership at a local gym and pop in there from time to time. This is where I first noticed the need to “exercise for my age”.  I was attending classes with young people, which is fine, I can keep up but I am no longer 20. There’s a difference between how we should work out in our 20s and how we should work out when we’re no longer 20.  Read more: http://www.oprah.com/health/exercise-for-your-20s-30s-40s-50s-and-60s_1/all#ixzz59wlIgSmD

Exercise should be like brushing your teeth at every age as long as you are able and your doctor approves.

LEUS Active Gym Towel, LEUS Yoga Mat Towel, Well-Kept Fitness Towelettes

I attend a lot of classes, sometimes more than one a day. I tote around a CALIA by Carrie Underwood Rolled Duffle Bag. When I am carrying some extra weights I go with my Rockland Rolling Duffle Bag. It is leopard and pink! I love my Ice Pops Cool It Caddy . It is great for keeping my make up cool in my Duffle Bags in the summer. I never go to the gym without mascara and lip stick. In the Cool It Cady, I also can stash any small snack fruits or my occasional chocolate bar.

I love my Well-Kept Fitness Towelettes (pictured above). They clean equipment, my weights, yoga mats and more. I like everything clean and sanitary, as we all should, of course. I always keep a stash in each of my bags for clean up before and after a class or workout. There are 26 eucalyptus-mint infused botanic fiber clothes in a pack. I never go without these.

My Yoga Mat Towel by LEUS (pictured above) is perfect for an under the sun or in class Yoga workout. It keeps my hands, feet and body parts in place when transitioning between poses. It’s surface slip resistant (spray with water to activate) and super for absorbing sweat. It’s also great for preventing  microbial growth on mats. If using a thin mat, the towel adds more comfort too. It’s light and tucks away neatly into my bag. I also use it in place of a standard mat while traveling.

The companion to my  Yoga Mat Towel is the LEUS 100% cotton Active Gym Towel (pictured above).  Again, it’s an item that easily tucks away into my bag and is a true necessity at the gym, in class or outside.

What Busy Moms Do To Stay Looking Glam

It’s not easy being a busy mother who has to try and do it all and take care of herself at the same time. You may look around at others and wonder how they do it. Luckily, there are tips and tricks for you to try that will help you feel your best and maintain a beauty routine that works for you.

Don’t let a busy schedule be an excuse for not attending to your needs any longer. It’s time to step up and take control of your life and make some real changes that will stick. Learn what busy moms do to stay looking glam, and you too can start feeling better about yourself in no time.

Always Make Time for Exercise

If there’s one habit, you need to get into it’s that you should exercise daily. Never skip working your mind and body with a good sweat session. Hit the gym, go for a run or walk during your lunch hour. Busy moms don’t let their schedule be an excuse for why they can’t workout. They make sure exercise is a part of their day no matter what. Either take a yoga class nearby or get a treadmill in your basement to use in the early morning or after work.

Attend to their Hair, Nails & Makeup

If there are any parts of your body that you should take care of regardless of how tired you are or where you’re going, it’s your hair, nails, and makeup. Find a trusted hair salon and stylist who knows exactly what kind of cut and color you need to look your best. It’s also a good idea to invest in some decent makeup that will brighten up your face. As for your nails, either paint them yourself at home or find a salon you like going to where they do a good job and have trendy colors in stock.

Have A Versatile Wardrobe & Go-to Outfits

What you wear matters, but it’s hard to think through outfits when you’re overtired and rushing to work. That’s why you need to plan ahead and come up with a wardrobe that’s easy, yet stylish. Have go-to outfits that are simple to maintain and different clothing pieces that you can mix and match. It’s also smart to wear garments that can be transformed from day to night in case you’re talked into cocktails or have a late dinner meeting.

Get their Beauty Sleep

Busy moms know their sleep comes first, and without it, they’re a mess. Go to bed at a decent hour and get up around the same time each day. This will help your body remain on a sleep schedule, and it’ll be easier to wake up in the morning. Also, take breaks and rest when you need it. Don’t try to power through your tasks when you’re low energy and could use a nap.

Conclusion

It’s good to be busy, but your demanding lifestyle will become an issue if you’re not taking care of yourself. Stay looking glam with these tips and continue to be the fantastic mom that you are. Your mood will be lifted, and you’ll look and feel fabulous. What more could you want?

Treadmill vs. Elliptical

When it comes to choosing between a treadmill and an elliptical it is important to know that you can see great overall results with both machines, but they both come with their own strengths and weaknesses. This also means that you will get the ability to choose a solution which is great for you but which might also need better overall understanding.

The strong points of the machines

The treadmill can be a good solution to burn calories at any age. Running is among the best activities for weight loss and it is also easy to perform for most people. With a profile of inclined running or walking and with many dedicated running programs to choose from, a treadmill can be one of the leading options of better fitness. In many cases, the treadmill can also be folded for storage and if you train at home, this can be a major advantage.

The elliptical machine (Drench – Elliptical Machines Under 300) is another great solution for weight loss. It works you entire body and for this reason, it can work great for calorie burning. Furthermore, it is also important to know that you can find great solutions when it comes to improved overall fitness with its various difficulty settings. As with the treadmill, you can also monitor your performance with time tracking or calorie tracking. Most modern machines will also come with included or added support for pulse readings.

The drawbacks of the machines

The treadmill can be a high impact solution, especially to your joints. It is here that most overweight people can suffer. Thus, it works among the great options when it comes to better overall results with weight loss but it also has a strong impact on the joint which can increase discomfort and inflammation. At the same time, it is also important to know that you can see great overall results when it comes to better simplicity but the main problem can come from the lack of support for the joints.

The elliptical can be better for overall posture but at the same time, it is not the best solution when it comes to improving the natural stride as the feet never leave the pedals. This is why it can be important to look for the solutions which allow you a good overall performance, especially in the conditions in which you want to stay away from possible injuries but it will not help you run better.

Seasonal Skincare

Your skincare routine should change with different seasons and climatic conditions. Altering your entire routine might be a big inconvenience, and this is why you need to keep the changes small and minor.

The changes you make to your routine will mainly involve these aspects:

  • Your cleansing method  – When transitioning from one season to another, you can choose to use two cleansers to make the change easier.
  • How you moisturize – In some seasons, you will need heavier cream, and in others, light lotions will be ideal.

This article will cover some important skin care tips for various climatic conditions.

Winter

Winter is an uncomfortable season for many people. The cold is extreme, the sidewalks are icy, and worst of all, your skin easily dries up. The cold and dry weather reduces your skin’s ability to hold moisture, so you might have to deal with dry skin often.

A good way to keep your skin moist is to use a skin cleanser. In cold weather, the skin does not produce as much sebum, and this is why it dries fast. The cleanser can combat this by protecting the skin’s natural moisture barrier. When moving to a colder region, you will have to shop for cream-based cleansers that don’t foam. Alternatively, you can go for oil-based skin products.

The best ingredients for winter skin cleansers are hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides, so be sure to look out for them.

You should use a vitamin C serum to reduce the loss of moisture from your skin. The products are made of small particles and are, therefore, very easily absorbed into the skin. Since they contain vitamin C, your skin will be able to maintain its elasticity and ability to synthesize collagen. It also helps to boost the skin’s immune system and correct the damage done by elements such as the cold weather.

It is equally important to increase your water intake in this weather.

Hot water is generally not good for the skin. In winter, hot water should especially be avoided since it will dehydrate the skin very fast. Hot water evaporates from the surface easily and, if you don’t moisturize immediately, you will experience winter’s itch and generally affect the state of your skin.

Finally, you should exfoliate less. This is because your skin will be compromised by the cold weather. If your skin is extremely dry, you should even avoid exfoliation entirely for the entire season.

Summer

In summer, your skin will be working to lower your overall temperature. For this reason, there will be a high production of skin oil. This means you will need to go for an oil-free skin moisturizer, ideally one with a minimum SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 30 for use during the day. To keep your lips in perfect condition, you should also use a lip balm with a high SPF.

It is good to spend some time in the sun; it even helps to supply your skin with vitamin D. However, staying in the harsh rays for too long can do more harm than good to your skin. If you want to bask in the sun’s rays, it is best to do it before 10 am or after 3 pm. Otherwise, the rays will be too harsh. You should also use protective sunglasses. These will protect the skin around your eyes.

You should also exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead and dulling skin debris. This will improve hydration of the skin and prevent congestion. This should be done in the morning before you apply any makeup, moisturizer, or toner. As an advantage, your makeup will last longer if you exfoliate your skin. After exfoliation, you should always apply a body cream to protect and moisturize the skin.

Sunscreen is also essential in this season. You should remember to apply enough sunscreen every two hours. For your face, you should use enough sunscreen to fill a teaspoon, and for your body, it should be enough to fill a glass. With these products, you should consider the condition of your skin and choose one that works well with it. For example, if your skin is sensitive and reactive, you can choose to use chemical-free sunscreens.

Autumn

Autumn is a good time to repair any skin damage from the sun, chlorine, and salt water of summer. The air gets drier and cooler in this season, so you need to moisturize your skin during the transition. This should be done every day to prevent your skin from peeling and chipping. The best time to do this is immediately after you have you have taken a shower.

With cool weather, you will need to switch from lotions to creams to maintain a strong oil barrier. This will help to keep your skin hydrated. It is important to note that many hand creams are scented. If you have sensitive skin, you should go for a fragrance-free product.

Additionally, you should consider getting oily based scrubs. These help with exfoliation and also hydrate your skin.

Spring

In spring, you should carry out gentle skin exfoliators on a regular basis. This will help to reverse the skin damage done in winter. Antioxidants are equally important for skincare in this season. These can be obtained from fresh fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants will protect your skin from damage by the sun’s UV rays.

As you transition from winter, your skin will be able to hold more moisture, meaning you will not necessarily need a heavy moisturizing cream. Instead, you should use a light moisturizer or lotion since your skin needs to breathe. You will also need to use a lip balm with sun protection as the lips are open to the sunrays.

Your skincare routine needs to be re-evaluated in every season. The main points to consider are the cleansing method and the moisturizing method. Transitioning from one season to another will also require you to change the skincare products you use. Follow the tips given in this article for a more efficient skincare routine. If your skin has undergone extensive damage in winter or summer, you should contact Dr. Robert Glasgold and Dr. Mark Glasgold on 732-846-6540 for a quick and reliable correcting procedure. They are highly rated facial and body cosmetic surgeons from Princeton, New Jersey.

Finding Ways to Get Ahead in the Beauty Industry

The beauty industry is more than just a multimillion-dollar market; it is one of the foundations of western society. Both modern men and women have an investment in the beauty industry, from haircuts to makeup and cosmetic surgery. This societal interest in the outer appearance is what makes the beauty industry so lucrative, but it is also why there is so much competition in the beauty market for businesses. If you want to break into the market, then you have to find ways to stand out and get noticed; here are a few ideas which might help you get ahead in the beauty industry.

Fill a gap in the market

There are already hundreds of beauty businesses out there, so why should your customers choose you over all the rest? That’s the question you need to find an answer to if you want your business to succeed. In other words, you need to find your niche. First and foremost, decide which sector of the beauty industry you want to break into. Having a cosmetic surgery and hair salon, which also offers fitness advice, might cover a lot of ground, but covering too much ground would just confuse your customers and make them question the legitimacy of your practice. Research your target market, and find out what it is that customers want because this is the best way to determine what is missing from the market. If you fill that gap, you will already have the edge over your competitors.

Offer a diverse range of products

Finding your niche is the first step, but you can’t just stop there. You will need to offer your clientele a range of services and products which compliment your specialism, as only having one or two products will limit the client group you are able to cater for.

Take, for instance, a business which wants to offer hair waxing. The niche might be that they offer a range of waxing techniques and products which are not widely available. However, as well as this, a successful brand would also want to offer alternative methods of hair removal, such as threading or laser hair removal. These alternatives don’t have to be costly, for example, you can buy second-hand laser machines from Sentient Lasers, but will provide a wider scope for broadening your target market. If these are services that you cannot personally provide, then you could always partner with other professionals who do offer other services that you might like to provide for your customers.

Effective branding

Once you have the business model, you need to decide how you are going to present yourself to consumers. Your company name and business marking is the first step to selling yourself to possible clients, so this needs to be carefully thought out. Consider the ‘hair removal’ business model again: rather than simply portraying the company as ‘hair removal business,’ you could instead market as a ‘skin care specialist’ brand, and offer your clients other skin care treatments, such as body wraps or facials. This takes your company from a one-stop shop for hair removal to a universal brand which offers a range of services.

Using these few simple marketing techniques are just the first few steps you can take to help you create a likable brand, which, in turn, will assist you in getting ahead in a competitive industry.

Different Types of Rhinoplasties

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that changes the shape and structure of the nose. People undergo rhinoplasty to make their noses smaller, larger, or more symmetrical. Because there are so many different cosmetic goals that involve the nose, there are a variety of different types of rhinoplasty. During your consultation with a rhinoplasty surgeon, you will discuss what type of procedure is best for you.

Open and Closed Rhinoplasty

Open and closed rhinoplasties use different incision techniques. During an open rhinoplasty, your surgeon will make an incision in the skin that separates your nostrils, which will let them directly see the bone and cartilage underneath. This technique is usually recommended for more complex rhinoplasties.

During a closed rhinoplasty, your surgeon will only make incisions on the inside of your nose. With this technique, the surgery and recovery time are usually faster. You can expect less swelling and discomfort with a closed rhinoplasty than with an open one. Also, there will be no visible scarring.

Reduction and Augmentation Rhinoplasty

Reduction and augmentation rhinoplasties both alter the shape of the nose. A reduction rhinoplasty will make the nose smaller and more proportionate to the rest of the face. Depending on the shape and structure of your nose, your surgeon may remove bumps on the bridge of your nose, reduce an elongated nasal tip, or narrow down flared nostrils.

An augmentation rhinoplasty makes parts of the nose larger and more balanced or symmetrical. Your surgeon may perform bone or tissue grafts to add volume to the nasal bridge or tip. They may need to take cartilage from the nasal septum to add to the rest of the nose. If your septum doesn’t have enough cartilage, they may also remove some from your ear or ribs.

Reconstructive Rhinoplasty

Reconstructive rhinoplasty fixes the nose after damage or trauma. Many people who undergo reconstructive rhinoplasty have had a surgery to remove cancer that affected their nose, and some have had facial injuries that caused disfigurement.

Depending on how much damage was done to your nose, you may need multiple surgeries to completely reconstruct it. The surgery usually requires the doctor to take grafts from other parts of the body to restore the missing or damaged tissue.

Ethnic Rhinoplasty

Ethnic rhinoplasty uses the same surgical techniques as the other forms of the surgery, but it usually refers to the surgeries performed on people of Middle Eastern, African, Asian, or Hispanic descent. People of these ethnicities often have softer tissue in their noses, so surgeons take extra care during the procedure. Many people worry about losing their ethnic facial features during a rhinoplasty, so surgeons are also careful to maintain their patients’ unique facial structures while helping them reach their cosmetic goals.

Filler Rhinoplasty

A filler rhinoplasty is a non-surgical option to enhance your nose. During this procedure, your doctor will use injectable fillers to smooth out bumps or sharp angles, change the shape of the nasal tip, and restore symmetry. Most fillers only provide temporary results, but they’re usually very effective. However, filler rhinoplasty can only add shape or volume to your nose. If you want to reduce the size of your nose, you’ll have to choose a different option.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty, also known as secondary rhinoplasty, fixes problems that occurred during a previous nose surgery. Although most people are happy with their original rhinoplasty results, a number of things can go wrong.

An inexperienced or unqualified surgeon could botch the procedure and leave the patient feeling even more unsatisfied with their nose than they were before the surgery. The first rhinoplasty could cause breathing issues or other functional problems. The patient could experience a facial trauma or injury while the nose is still healing, which could affect the results. In some cases, patients simply aren’t happy with the results and want to make additional improvements.

Revision rhinoplasty can be done with an open or closed technique. Depending on what the patient wants to change, the surgery may be more complex than the first rhinoplasty. However, patients undergoing revision rhinoplasty can usually have the same expectations for the surgery and the recovery period as they did for their first procedure.

Dr. Andrew Frankel is a renowned rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, CA. Dr. Frankel board certified in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He specializes in nasal surgery and has years of experience with rhinoplasty. During his residency, he won multiple awards for his research on rhinoplasty.

Planning Tips for a Glam Sports Night at Home

Whether you’re a football, baseball, or basketball fan, nothing beats watching the big game on a wide-screen TV with all the home comforts close at hand. Sure, it can be fun spending the evening at a local sports bar with your friends, but if you would rather chill at home with your family and close friends, planning a glam sports night is a better option. To help ensure your sports night goes off without a hitch, even if your team loses, read on for some useful tips.

Indoors or Outside?

If the weather is good, it makes sense to host your sports night outside. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can buy or rent a projector and watch the big match on a large screen. You will have more room outside in the backyard and the kids can play in the pool while the adults get stuck into the on-screen action.

To make sure your garden looks super glam, light scented garden candles to ward off nasty pests and hang solar string lights in the trees and shrubs.

If the weather isn’t playing ball, bring the fun indoors. Remove all the clutter from your living area and bring in some extra seating so everyone has somewhere to chill. The kids probably won’t want to watch the big match, so provide some activities for them to do in another part of the house.

Preparing Food

Buckets of popcorn and takeout fried chicken always go down well with the guys, but this is your opportunity to do things differently. Instead of resorting to junk food, have a go at making some tasty snacks. Pocket Change Gourmet has some great recipes, including one for a delicious pepperoni pizza ring. Don’t forget to cater for the kids too – they’ll probably be happy with pizza!

Another option is to fire up the BBQ. On a warm summer’s evening, cooking some pre-match steaks and ribs on the BBQ is simply divine.

A Selection of Drinks

It goes without saying that you will need a selection of drinks. Nobody will be thrilled if the beer runs out mid-way through the match and you have to go to the local market to buy more supplies.

Beer is probably the default option, but depending on who you invite, it is worth having a selection of wine and other alcoholic beverages on hand, too. If you want to add a touch of glamour to the proceedings, why not prepare cocktails? There are some easy cocktail recipes online. As long as you have the staple ingredients in your booze cupboard, you can mix up some buckets of margarita, Long Island iced tea, or Manhattans. Your guests will be thrilled!

Don’t forget to provide a selection of soft drinks, too. Mocktails are a good choice, especially if you have kids – they will enjoy feeling grownup if you let them have their own special “cocktails”. If the weather is hot, have plenty of thirst quenching cold water available.

Sports night at home doesn’t have to be boring. With the right food, drinks, and atmosphere, you can have a ball!

L.A. based makeup artist and official Ipsy Creator Roxette Arisa’s top makeup tips with Deck of Scarlet #07 Palette.

Set Your Face

  1. Skin Prep: Before you apply foundation, don’t forget to treat your skin with a light weight oil or primer. By moisturizing your skin, your makeup will flake less and stay on longer!
  2. Foundation Time: Apply a breathable foundation like, Too Faced Born This Way with a beauty sponge. Gently tap in the foundation all over for optimal blending.
  3. Conceal Imperfections: Brighten up your under-eye area with a full coverage concealer like, Tarte Shape Tape. It blurs to perfection, removing those “divots” seamlessly. When applying, I like to use a small brush so you can target the area without overdoing it. This will ensure that you’re using the correct amount without causing cakey-ness.
  4. Set It: Before moving on to color, set your foundation and concealer. I use the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder because it has a peachy undertone that helps to cancel out discoloration.

Look Nighttime/Dramatic Look

  1. Prime Your Peepers: Find a light weight primer that will keep your shadows in place. I use the Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer because it’s sheer and doesn’t feel heavy as you build on it. Dab it on with your ring finger until it’s fully absorbed.
  2. Apply Your Base Shadow: For a multi-dimensional look, use the “Bronzed” eyeshadow in the new Deck of Scarlet #07 Edition Palette. The hues have a beautiful copper undertone which will add a slight shimmer. Apply the shadow to you lids with a medium blender brush, then, take a smaller brush, like a small domed shader brush, and use it to define your crease and soften out the edges.
  3. Lash Love: For a dramatic evening look, first apply a layer of mascara to your top lashes, then pop on some fluffy lashes for added volume and length. I love Lilly Lashes in Mikonos. To apply, simply add a little glue on to the band and place them atop your lash line.
  4. Color Vibes for the Eyes: Enhance your inner eyes with a bright, bold color. Using a small round brush, tap on the Deck of Scarlet turquoise color in, “Bora Bora” and apply it to the inner corner of your eyes. This adds a delicate, yet impactful, touch of color while also making them look brighter and more awake.
  5. Bottoms Up: Define your eyes by lightly lining your bottom lash line with the “Bronzed” shadow. You can use an angled shadow brush or a medium round brush to line the bottom and smoke it out. Then, using your brush, connect the bottom to the top to fill in that empty space at the outer corners of your eyes.
  6. Line Em Up: Finish off your eyes with the “Goddess” waterproof eyeliner and apply it to your water line for a kiss of shimmer.
  7. Get Cheeky: Using a blush brush, swirl on some of the Deck of Scarlet, “LoveSick” blush and blend backwards starting at the apples of your cheeks.
  8. Highlighter Life: Highlighter really amps up a natural daytime look. “Roxstar” is one of my favorite highlighters and it pairs perfectly with “LoveSick.” I tend to be a little extra, so I use a nice fluffy brush, like a flat top foundation brush, and apply a little on my forehead, chin, and cheekbones
  9. Pucker Up: For a nice full lip, use the Deck of Scarlet “Foxy” lip liner to outline around your pout. The formula is super creamy and prevents feathering and bleeding. Then, apply, “Sweat Away” for a deep, versatile look.

5 Facts You Must Know About Preventing Dental Problems

Dental issues affect everyone from adults, teens, and children. The major cause of tooth decay is a sticky film called plaque which is basically a pile of bacteria that forms on teeth after taking sugary foods. If you don’t deal with the plaque in good time, the bad bacteria start producing acids that eventually attack the enamel. And that is how a dental starts to form. If the gums recede away from the teeth in conjunction with increased prevalence of periodontal disease, the roots of your teeth become exposed to the plaque. Note that the roots are protected by cementum which is softer than the enamel hence are more prone to deterioration and very sensitive to temperature changes. This article shows how you can avoid these dental problems including how to properly use a toothbrush.

  • Brush twice a day to deter cavity formation

After taking a meal, a super sticky film starts to coat your teeth’s surface with bacteria. This plaque not only sticks to the front but also in between, back, side, and underneath gums. You can always feel it with your teeth. If you brush your teeth properly with the best electric toothbrush, two times in a day, you will get rid of the plaque thereby minimizing the risk of cavities and gum diseases.

  • Do not brush too hard

Applying too much pressure when brushing can cause gum recession. Brushing harder is not the right way to remove food debris as it wears out the outer surface as well as the gums. Think about brushing like using sandpaper; the more pressure applied, the harder it scrapes off the surface. Don’t forget that your teeth wear off as you age so you don’t have to put them through another ordeal of hard brushing that exposes your sensitive roots. You better buy a toothbrush with soft bristles and brush in gentle circles when you reach the gum line.

  • Avoid starch and sugars

Sugars are foods for the bacteria that decay your enamel to create cavities. When starch is metabolized in your mouth, the bacteria feed on it and an acid is released which is not good for your teeth. So, any time you munch sweet bites or drink processed sodas and iced coffee, you are eating for two- you and the bacteria found in plaque. Avoiding sugars is a bit challenging because they are also found in fruits which still need for healthy gums. Some of the best foods for your teeth include dairy products, meat, and non-acidic veggies. If you eat sugars without brushing in between, you are accelerating the rate of dental decay in your mouth.

Every time you take in these junks, you create a conductive environment for the bacteria that attack your teeth since they use the food residues to thrive. Give your mouth a break from acidic attacks by adapting to a 4-meal nutrition plan every day. If you have to take coffee and sweet drinks, finish them within 30 minutes and then switch to water. Keep in mind that how often you eat has a huge impact on teeth decay.

  • Floss your teeth every morning

The plaque builds up at night as well so it is a great idea to floss your teeth in the morning. Even if you brush every night and feel clean when you wake up, the plaque continues to coat the teeth. This is especially important if you breathe through your mouth during sleep, something a dries up saliva. You can brush before or after breakfast; the idea is to eliminate the bacteria that grows overnight.

  • Always keep your mouth wet

Mouth dryness is one of the reasons that the bacteria grow fast. Saliva is critical as far as teeth cleaning and fighting cavities go. It washes away food residues and contains anti-bacterial qualities that neutralize the negative effects of the acids produced by the bacteria. So, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that saliva repairs and restores healthy teeth. If you have a dry mouth problem, which results from a medical condition, you need extra protection e.g. drinking a lot of water or using saliva-boosting rinses. There is also certain toothpaste in the market that may help prevent a dry mouth condition.

These dental care tips apply to kids too. Pass on to them so they can escape chronic childhood diseases. Make it a habit to check with a dentist for screening and suggestions on how to avoid oral cancer. A routine check-up is the first defense against dental illnesses. Are you aware that dental problems can affect your entire health? If left untreated, gum diseases such as gingivitis advance to serious diseases characterized by bone loss. Be sure to brush your teeth with soft-bristled toothbrush, floss, and eat gum-friendly meals.
