Cindy Crawford at the Met

Who: Supermodel Cindy Crawford at the 2016 Met Gala: Manus x Machina.

The Look: Futuristic Mermaid

The Inspiration:  Rimmel London Makeup Artist Jo Baker balanced the legendary model’s silvery scaled Balmain gown with smokey pink eyes and a soft, pinky-nude lip. Her look was fluid, modern and chic.

How to Get the Look: 

SKIN

Jo prepped Cindy’s skin using Meaningful Beauty Ultra Lifting and Firming Serum to smoothe skin and then applied Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer to blur any imperfections.  Using a foundation brush, she blended Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25H Foundation in Classic Beige for flawless coverage. Embracing Cindy’s “beach babe” persona, Jo utilized the bronzer in Rimmel London Sculpting & Highlighting Kit by Kate Moss in Golden Sands, giving Cindy a warm glow all over her face and then swiped the apples of her cheeks with the blush tone.

LIPS 

Jo applied Rimmel London Exaggerate Automatic Lip Liner in Innocent to Cindy’s lips, creating a soft, symmetrical lip line. She then filled in lips with the liner to create a base for Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in #45 – the perfect nude pink.

EYES & BROWS

Jo and Cindy wanted a soft, dreamy and smokey eye and kept the palette cool to compliment her silver dress. First, Jo smudged Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Trespassing Taupe on the back of her hand and applied it across Cindy’s eyelid and under her lash line a soft shadow brush. She then added Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bootleg Brown near the lash line to create depth and density. Finally, she applied Rimmel London ScandalEyes XX-treme Mascara in Black to her lashes creating dramatic length.

Although Cindy is a natural brunette, her hair is slightly lighter than usual. To fill in her browns, Jo applied Rimmel London Brow This Way Eyebrow Sculpting Kit in Blonde to groom and sculpt her brows.

Met Ball Glam: Get Emily Blunt’s Wrapped Ponytail

The Inspiration: Technical Hair for a Technical Age 

The Look: Galactic double ponytail wrapped with semi-precious pewter and copper hair jewels

Get The Look:

  • Step 1: Shampoo and condition the hair with ABBA Pure Performance Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner for healthy shine
  • Step 2: Apply ABBA Pure Performance Smoothing Blow Dry Lotion to the hair from roots to ends to prep for a sleek up-do and to prevent any fly-aways and frizz

  • Step 4: Next, take a thin comb and part the hair from just behind the ear up to the sides. Secure the top half ponytail with a small elastic

  • Step 6: Take the strand of semi-precious pewter and copper stones and begin tightly wrapping the top ponytail from the base down the end.  “Florence was wearing a custom iridescent silver gown.  Florence has a very well-known look and we wanted to keep that alive with a little more structure and shine to go with the dress and theme of the gala.” – Ryan Richman

  • Using a large boar bristle round brush I blow dried 1″ sections of her hair until smooth.
  • Using a 1″ flat iron I took small sections of hair and began moving the flat iron up and down while simultaneously moving the iron down to the ends of the hair to create a tight but natural wave.

Saoirse Ronan is glowing at the Met Gala

Lauren’s Inspiration: Feathered impact.

Skin: I started with Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation and then applied Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Heavenly Pink to her cheeks.

Eyes: I used a really neutral, pink eyeshadow on the lid and created a feathered wing using Avon Mega Effects Liquid Eyeliner. I finished with NEW Avon Big & Multiplied Volume Mascara in Black.

Lips:  Avon True Color Perfectly Matte in Pure Pink finished off the look with a pale, neutral lip.

Lauren’s Inspiration: Beautiful and natural.

Skin: I started with Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation and then gave her more of a glow with Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls in Sunkissed.

Eyes: I wanted to give her a soft golden bronze eye, so I used the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte. Then I applied Avon Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner in Brown Chocolate to the rim and finished with NEW Avon Big & Multiplied Volume Mascara in Black.

Lips: I kept her lips soft and natural with Avon Ultra Color Lipstick in Rosedew.
