We all know the dangers of the sunshine in the summer months, and we all know that wearing protective eye wear is essential to fight against the harsh rays. They are also the way to stop yourself from getting new wrinkles by squinting all the time!
With constant squinting, your eyes can look tired and be a total giveaway that you’re not wearing the right eye protection! However, there are so many ways that you can brighten your eyes and reduce the wrinkles appearing. You want your eyes looking healthy and bright all year, including the summer where you’re likely to take more selfies with your friends by the pool. Let’s take a look at some of the ways that you can ensure your eyes are whiter, brighter and healthier this year.

Next take a look at your overall package. Look at yourself honestly and write down the things you like and the things that you would like to work on. This may be painful as no one wants to face their flaws, but in order to change something you don’t like, it is essential to address it first.
After your candid evaluation, you need to make a list of your goals and objectives both physically and mentally. Set realistic goals, and give yourself a timeframe. I like to make both short and long-term goals and reward myself for each accomplishment as I make it. Great satisfaction comes from achieving these goals and you will feel so much better about yourself as progress is made.

Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra for The Violet Files
Today, (8/12/15), on the latest cover of The Violet Files, the editorial site of Hollywood insider and beauty guru Cassandra Grey, Kim Kardashian West is transformed into the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra through the artistry and makeup design by Pat McGrath.
“I would have done anything—I would have trusted Pat’s vision no matter what she wanted—but I was really excited that it was the Cleopatra vibe,” says Kim Kardashian West of the collaboration with makeup artist Pat McGrath.

“Elizabeth Taylor’s makeup in Cleopatra has been re-created countless times, but for Kim I wanted to create an interpretation that has never been done before, a futuristic 3D version,” Ms. McGrath explains. “I wanted to portray a luxurious decadence by using elements of ornate facial jewelry constructed into shapes that pay homage to Egyptian culture, and of course to the rich exotic character that Taylor portrayed in this role.”
“Her eyeshadow was made from ground lapis stone and gold pyrite flecks,” notes Ms. McGrath. “Incorporating three-dimensional gold metal into the makeup design explores the concept of makeup as jewelry. I wanted the images to be luxurious, evoking a modern take on the opulence associated with Cleopatra’s makeup.”
In the changing season our skincare routine needs to change up just a little as well. Getting to experiment and try out new things is what I am all about and I want to share some of my favorite skin care products for the summer. I find these may be best for oily to combination skin.
Beautiful summer glows start with cleansed skin. I am currently using Mary Kay’s Time Wise cleanser. In the summer, having oily skin, the oil glands can tend to feel like they are producing more oil. Time Wise is lightweight, creamy cleanser that helps to really slow down the oil production.
Moisturize!! Especially here in the summer months. If oily skin can get oilier then sometimes dry skin can get even dryer. No matter which skin type you have, moisturizer is what really balances out the over all look and feel of your skin. I currently use two moisturizers, and one facial oil, each one serves a different purpose. Seba Med is one I like to use to help slow down my oil and clear my skin of acne. The other is my Mad Hippie Face Cream. This one is my anti aging go to moisturizer. I use my Seba Med first let it dry then put my Mad Hippie on.
After we moisturize we cant forget to show the peepers some love. Goldfaden MD’s eye cream has been my eye opener. I use my ring finger and apply on the eye socket rather than directly under the eye.
Skincare is very important but beautiful skin starts on the inside. Healthy eating, and drinking plenty of water is the number one factor to beautiful glowing skin. Best Female Performance winner Shailene Woodley rocked the carpet last night at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards with a French inspired, bold yet naturally radiant look, created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Roxy.

To achieve this look, Roxy hydrated Shailene’s face by applying Laurel Whole Plants Organic Skin Facial Elixir to her face, neck and décolletage. Next, to even out her skin tone and achieve a flawless finish, Roxy applied a sheer foundation with a beauty blender sponge. She then softly played up the definition of Shailene’s cheek bones with a warm cream RMS Bronzer. Following this, for extra radiance, Roxy applied RMS illuminizer down the bridge of Shailene’s nose, above and around the corners of her brows, in a C shaped manner.
For her eyes, Roxy applied a chocolate brown liner along the top and bottom lash lines, diffusing it softly with a petite eye brush. To emphasize the eyes a bit more, she layered a soft black liner on her top lid with a subtle smudge. Last but not least, Roxy focused on Shailene’s lips, applying a mixture of Burt’s Bees Lip Crayons in Napa Vineyard and Redwood Forest ($9, www.burtbees.com), for a rich, bold and creamy red that finished the look flawlessly.
