Year Round Sun Protection from CeraVe

IMG_4755

“Mom, did you remember the sunscreen? That was one of the many questions asked as we were packing for our recent trip to Florida. Obviously, I was responsible for the sunscreen and CeraVe had exactly was we were looking for. CeraVe offered several types of sunscreens as well as several types of applications like lotions,  sticks and a sprays. The CeraVe products I chose are formulated with their trademark Invisible Zinc technology. As stated by CeraVe, “Invisible Zinc technology uses a revolutionary, naturally sourced micro-finezinc oxide that delivers a unique dry, clear finish on the skin whole also delivering powerful protection from the sun’s damaging rays.”

All CeraVe suncare products are lightweight, oil-free, water resistant and contain ceramides which aid in repairing and restoring the skin barrier. Year round sun protection is so important because we are always exposed to the sun, after all, we don’t lock ourselves indoors when summer ends. We are quite aware how damaging the sun can be to our skin and we wear sunscreen when outdoors, whether we are on vacation or not. The girls were very happy with my choices and as you can see from the photos, they carried their CeraVe sunscreen throughout our vacation to sunny Florida.

Adrienne liked the new CeraVe SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick. It was small enough to carry in her back pocket and she liked the stick application with its retractable applicator. Jenna preferred the lotion for her face and CeraVe SPF 50 Face Lotion was exactly what she was looking for. She liked the light weight formula and the oil-free sunscreen was perfect for her skin type.

I carried CeraVe SPF 50 Body Lotion to be sure the entire family had the sun protection they needed while enjoying the beautiful whether. Our skin was protected from head to to thanks to CeraVe.

Feel a Little Tropical with Mango Moonbreeze by gud

GUD Mango Body Lotion

GUD Mango Body Lotion

A friend of mine gave me gud Body Lotion to try, she knows how much I love all the Burt’s Bees products. Burt’s Bees products are never made with Parabens, Phthalates, or Petrochemicals!  Only with natural ingredients!! I was looking forward to applying gud Body Lotion Mango Moonbreeze on my skin and feel a little tropical. I was crazy busy with the holidays that I left the gud Body Lotion on my desk in my kitchen.   In the meantime, I was using other creams but one day as I was rubbing hand cream into my hands, it dawned on me that I had forgotten to try the gud Body Lotion.  Searching up and down and around my desk, looking into cupboards, desk drawers, file cabinets, gud Body Lotion was no where to be found….. taking the trash out one day, I noticed the gud Body Lotion in the trash.  It was completely EMPTY!  I stormed into the house and questioned everyone who resides in my household. They were not shy, all came clean and said they used gud Body Lotion and LOVED IT. They were wondering when I was going to purchase more!  So my blog is my family’s review on gud Body Lotion Mango Moonbreeze from Burt’s Bees…..

Unknown-89

My husband said it absorbs quickly into his skin recovering his dryness, never leaving his body greasy. Loves the mango tropical fragrance!  My daughter who has very sensitive skin stated she fell in love with the scent!!!  Loved that it applied smooth and silky on her hands, arms and legs!  It was safe for her to use – No Breakouts! My mother requested her own bottle of gud Body Lotion Mango Moonbreeze. She said it smoothed out all her dry, rough patches and refreshed and left her skin feeling silky and soft.  She also loved the mango and jasmine scent!  As for my son, he used gud Body Lotion on his dry hands and loved how it was non-greasy and fast-absorbing!  I am glad my family is happy with gud from Burt’s Bees and it really works. It makes me feel good that they are using a product that contains no Parabens, Phthalates or Petrochemicals!  Also, it is never tested on animals and is made in the USA.  Thank you gud from Burt’s Bees for satisfying my family!  I am pleased!  True Story!!!

Get the Look: Red Carpet Styles by TRESemmé Stylist John D

Tonight, TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D. created gorgeous hairstyles for several leading ladies on the red carpet, including Greta Gerwig and Drew Barrymore.  Please find his hairstyle how-to’s with images below for reference.

Best actress nominee, Greta Gerwig turned heads in her DKNY Atelier gown and gorgeous, textured up-do.
“Our inspiration for tonight was purely feeling beautiful.  We wanted the look to be elegant, classic, and romantic so I opted for a soft, romantic ‘do to  complement Greta’s style.”
How-to:
  1. Use TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse on clean hair and apply throughout, from root to tip, for volume and a great foundation. Blow-dry hair using a medium-sized round brush to add extra bounce and lift at the root
  2. Once hair is dry, use a 1″ curling iron to create body, which helps add softness to the final look. It also holds hair together, which is necessary when creating an up-do. Once finished, flip head upside-down and spray waves using TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray
  3. Section off the hair that frames the face (ear to ear) and give the hair a light back comb at the root for added lift. Then, rake fingers through hair to tame down excess lift and pull remaining hair back toward the nape of the neck. Split hair into two sections and proceed to tie hair into knots creating a kind of loose “chain” effect.  Bobby pin into place. Pull the remaining hair, that was sectioned out, toward the back of the head and secure using a few hair pins.
  4. Finish the look by spraying TRESemmé TRES Two Hairspray all over to lock it in place. Try embellishing the style using some sparkly jewelry or an accessory – Greta wore Vintage Fred Leighton pieces.
Drew Barrymore looked radiant in her embellished Monique Lhuillier gown. To complement her fun and feminine style, we opted for a super straight look with a deep side part. “I wanted to balance the exquisite detail on her gown by keeping the hair simple and chic.”
How-to:
  1. Prep clean, towel-dried hair with a thermal heat protectant spray and spritz throughout. Comb through to ensure hair is coated, and blow dry. To get a super smooth blowout, I like to use a boar bristle paddle brush. This allows you to get a nice hold on each section and create tension to aid in the smoothing process.
  2. Once hair is dry, use a flat iron on a medium-to-low setting and run the iron through the hair to seal down the cuticle and add great shine.
  3. Determine parting and tuck behind ears. To ensure a nice smooth part, use just a dab of mousse and spread it out onto fingertips then apply the product to the parting area to create extra shine and added hold. Take a small dab of hair creme, emulsify into palms and run through the mid-lengths and ends to tame fly-aways and add shine.

2014 Golden Globes; Get Kate Beckinsale’s Hair Look

Kate Back Golden Kate Golden Globes                   Overall Inspiration:With her wholesome, English rose good looks, Kate can get away with quite a bit of edginess in her hairstyle, so we went with a punk-inspired diva look that’s a bit different from her usual soft flowing waves.”    “Get the Look”   Hair—Prep/Style:

  • ·         Start by spraying Moroccanoil Root Boost directly on to the roots of damp hair. The spray will help add body and hold and it’s a great way to set the style in. It’ll also make hair more pliable and easier to work with.
  • ·         Start blow drying your hair using a skeleton brush; use your fingers to create texture and additional volume. Once the hair is fully dry, separate into a horseshoe shaped section (the part between both temples & your crown area) and clip the top section away.
  • ·         Pull the bottom section into a low, side ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic. Then coil & wrap the tail into a messy bun.  You can even tug a few strands out to create naturally falling bits and to loosen the bun. Secure it with bobby pins.
  • ·         Take the hair from the top section and backcomb the roots using Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Teasing Brush to maximize the volume at the crown and create a slightly disheveled texture.
  • ·         Secure the top section into the existing, loose bun with bobby pins.

Finishing Touches:

  • ·         Mist the hair with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to add shine and long-lasting hold. Spray a little on finger tips and work it into the single strands to help define. Secure the final look with a few more pins. You’re good to go!

Get The Golden Globe Look – Sofia Vergara – Hair By Harry Josh

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

On tonight’s Golden Globes Red Carpet, Sofia was stunning in a strapless sweetheart Zach Posen ballgown with a perfect blowout. According to Celebrity Hairstylist Harry Josh, her look was all about the return of classically simple yet chic hair. “Waves have ruled the red carpet for so long. We wanted to keep Sofia looking modern and fresh and a chic, luxurious blowout lent her that,” says Josh.

Here is how he got the look:
Josh created a diagonal part and blowdried her hair section by section with a two inch round brush and his Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000 ($300 at Hairenvy.com). Those were the only tools he needed to make this high impact red carpet look. By using the built in ion technology of the dryer, Josh was able to achieve a super satiny finish. “Sometimes less is more in a sea of overly intricate hairstyles. Simple and chic can steal the show.”
