In order to recreate this look, follow these steps from Newkirk using products from John Frieda:
- Newkirk started by applying John Frieda Luxurious Volume Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray all over Jessica’s wet hair.
- Then he blew out her hair using a large round brush to give her tons of volume and a lot of shine.
- After blow drying, Newkirk parted her hair into 2 inch sections (starting from the nape and working up).
- Then he curled the hair with a large 1 ½ inch curling iron. He made sure to secure each section with a duckbill clip and allowed each curl to set.
- Once curls were set, he removed the hair clips and with a flat brush, gently brushed out each curl.
- Newkirk placed a small amount of John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Crème and smoothed it through Jessica’s hair to achieve a perfectly smooth look.
- After, with a large comb, he parted the hair and smoothed it down with a touch of John Frieda Frizz Ease Clearly Defined Gel.

With just a ten minute soak, Skin So Soft does the trick
Just as it is named, “Skin So Soft Bath Oil” does what it says. Just a 10 minute soak with less than a capful actually does the trick. I took a little time to rub my heels, elbows & around my cuticles while in the tub because those areas seem to become the roughest through wear. The scent is pleasant and soothing which tended to lull me into soaking longer than I should, so beware! I noticed that my hands felt like I had just applied lotion and as the rest of my body absorbed the oil, my skin was left very soft. One word of warning, take extra care in getting out of the tub. I really didn’t think about this until I felt the wonderful difference that this bath oil made. Funky, Trendy Haircolors Right At Your Fingertips
I love experimenting with color and as a hairstylist/makeup artist, color is number one on my list. Growing up I always wanted to experiment with my hair and my makeup so I would sit at my vanity and go to town. It wasn’t until recently I was introduced to an awesome book that I wish I had when I was a teen. It is called DIY Dye and I am amazed at the methods in the book.
DIY Dye is a step-by-step instruction manual for getting bright, funky temporary colors at home…the right way. As a stylist i have seen many at home color jobs gone wrong (I strongly suggest that if you have any questions or if you feel the job is not coming out right please contact your local salon.) With everything from the use of Henna to spray on colors this book has it all. Even DIY color recipes. SOOO COOL!!!!
