Treat your hair to the very best with Conair Brushes

When your hair looks like this

IMG_1368

You really need this: a Conair Detangle Brush for wet or dry hair

Unknown

I can’t live without my  Conair Detangle Hair brush. As you can see, I have very curly hair. Att night, when I brush my hair out, I no longer have the feeling of my hair being ripped out of my head. The bristles on the Conair Detangler are so soft that it makes brushing my hair out easy and pain free. The bristles smooth over the tangles and curls and after a few strokes, the bristles brush right through my hair.

The Conair Detangle Hair brush is designed for use with wet or dry hair and it detangles wet hair so easily which is why I love this brush so much. I once read that it is not a good idea to comb or brush you hair out when wet because of breakage. I find that with my hair texture, I have to brush out when wet. I find that this brush has been nothing but gentle on my hair and there are no signs ogf breakage or split ends. As soon as I notice, I will let you know.

You can find this fabulous brush at drugstores and retailers nationwide or at conair.com

Memorable Moments of the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards

Unknown

September is one of the most exciting months for television. Every year the Emmy awards are given to the best actors, writers, and directors. Unlike other award shows, the Emmys are organized by the Television Academy. It’s the best in the biz giving award’s to who they believe did the best throughout the year. Although surprisingly, this year changes were made in the voting process. The Television Academy usually uses a small committee to determine final votes, but this year they opened up the final vote for certain categories to the entire pool of academy members. This allowed the show to feel less predictable, more diverse and over all more exciting. This years Emmys were full of firsts and hopefully not lasts.

Viola Davis of “How to Get Away With Murder” became the first African-American to win an Emmy for best lead actress in a drama series. In her acceptance speech, she quoted Harriet Tubman and acknowledge other African-American female actors that helped pave the way. She also left the audience and viewers with this:

Let me tell you something, the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.”

images

After seven previous nominations and his last chance to win for his role as Don Draper on “Mad Men”, Jon Hamm finally won his first Emmy. As luck would have it, he was sitting in the front row. Jon decided instead of using the stairs to the stage like everyone else, he would climb onto it. He literally lifted one leg up and sort of rolled onto stage. You could tell it was a moment Jon had waited a long time for.

HBO dominated the 67th Emmys and walked away with a total of 43 wins over all, including 29 creative Emmys last week. It was the first time HBO has ever won in the best drama category. They took home Emmys for “Mad Men”, “Game of Thrones” (the most-watched show in network history), “Veep” and “ Olive Kitteridge”. Its safe to say someone at HBO is getting a raise.

There were so many other memorable moments from the show, too many to list really. The good news is you will forever know who Emmy winners are. After an individual wins, they are forever referred to as “Emmy Award Winning” which technically means “now you have to pay me more”. My congratulations go out to all the winners of the evening, as well as the losers who held it together long enough for the cameras to leave.

Body Butter with Flavor

Whish

Remember when you were a little girl and your mother had the best hand lotion ever? You know the special lotion that stayed in her room sitting on that mirror on her dresser, next to her fancy perfume. Remember the smell of it as she pumped a small amount into the palm of her hand and gently rubbed her hands together? I do, I also remember thinking one day I will have special lotion, now I too have my own special lotion. Thanks to Whish!

Whish is so special it’s not called lotion it’s called Body Butter. Whish has an exciting new line called the Soda Fountain Collection, exclusively offered at Nordstrom stores nationwide. This collection has four great scents Black Cherry, Ginger Melon, Orange Cream and Key Lime. When you pump a small amount into your palm the air is instantly filled with the scent and you imagine yourself sitting at the counter at the ice cream parlor, swinging your legs to the music playing on the juke box. This body butter goes on so smooth, rich and creamy my skin feels moisturized and hydrated for hours.

Go ahead and get your body butter at www.Nordstrom.com and pick the flavor that is going to keep your skin silky smooth all day.

DON’T BE CAUGHT UNPREPARED! 4 THINGS YOU MIGHT NEED IN A MOMENT’S NOTICE….

Unknown-3
Quick! Think about four things you might need in a moment’s notice….

1. A condom

2. An EpiPen

3. A cold sore treatment

4. An inhaler
For anyone who is allergic to bee stings, or who suffers from asthma, number 2 and number 4 are no-brainers, yet they are too often forgotten! An asthma attack on a crowded subway or all alone in a hotel room can be catastrophic. A condom? It goes without saying! If you don’t have one, you may be seriously out of luck.

But, what about a cold sore treatment? Until very recently, including cold sore treatments on a list of things you might need in a moment’s notice would not have made much sense. But now, a new drug is changing that! An important FDA-approved cold sore drug, with a totally revolutionary technology, can help treat cold sores in several key ways . . . yes, even in a moment’s notice! Sitavig® (ACYCLOVIR), 50mg Buccal Tablet may help abort, shorten the duration, and increase the amount of time between episodes when taken within one to six hours of the prodrome phase. Sitavig® represents a treatment breakthrough in the herpes labialis (HSV-1 cold sore) category, because of its unique vehicle and delivery system.

The thing about Sitavig® is that it should be applied within one to six hours of the “prodrome” phase of a cold sore. This is the time when no lesion is visible, yet anyone who has ever had a cold sore understands it to mean a cold sore is on its way. When applied to the gum above the incisor tooth, Sitavig® can literally help you avoid a flare!!!! Yet, timing is everything. People who know about Sitavig® generally carry one with them at all times to take advantage of the “window of opportunity” offered by this new drug. Packaged in two blister packs, one prescription allows you to immediately treat the oncoming episode while the other can stay packed away in your purse or even your gym bag for the next time you feel that all too familiar tingle on your lips.

Phase III Study Proves it Works!
A Phase III, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study1 including 775 subjects demonstrated that a single low dose of Sitavig® acyclovir 50mg buccal tablet improved all clinical parameters of labial herpes when applied shortly after symptoms occurred. Most notably, Sitavig® decreased duration of episode, increased the percentage of blocked lesions, and delayed by 105 days the recurrence of the next herpes episode.2 It is well known that the standard of care, systemic antiviral drugs, are typically prescribed at high doses in the treatment of HL. However, Sitavig®’s innovative drug delivery system that provides a high sustained-release local exposure of acyclovir in the oral mucosa, while having low systemic absorption, supports its evaluation as single low dose in the treatment of HL.

Sitavig® (acyclovir), 50mg Muco-Adhesive Buccal Tablet is indicated for the treatment of recurrent herpes labialis (cold sores) in immunocompetent adults.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Sitavig should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to acyclovir, milk protein concentrate, or other components of the product.

Sitavig has not been studied in pregnant women or in immunocompromised patients and no interaction studies have been performed. Sitavig’s safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients. Sitavig is a Pregnancy Category B product; therefore it should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. It is not known if Sitavig is excreted in breast milk; however, systemic absorption is minimal. In a controlled clinical trial Sitavig’s most common side effects (greater than or equal to 1%) were: headache (3%), dizziness (1%), lethargy (1%), gingival pain (1%), aphthous stomatitis (1%), application site pain (1%), application site irritation (1%), erythema (1%) and rash (1%). In the same trial these side effects ranged from 0%-3% for placebo.
You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit fda.gov/medwatch.com or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Eye Rescue Serum. Natural. Organic. Australian

Briese

By Lisa Gal

Not all eye serums are created equally. Gently scented with Rosewater Briese Botanicals Eye Rescue Serum is full of the good stuff with none of the bad stuff. This serum immediately cools and revives the eye area while providing long-lasting hydration. The small list of the ingredients are all included for a purpose, like the Muntries (known as Emu Apples or native cranberries) Extract that treats dark circles and puffiness and Quandong Extract for strengthening capillaries, both sourced from Australia. Briese Botanicals contains far stronger concentrations of ingredients and antioxidants than the synthetics currently used in the skincare industry. The natural ingredients are proven to be powerful for a range of skincare challenges. The Eye Rescue Serum is being gifted to the award show nominees in their Hollywood Swag Bags at the Four Seasons Hotel this weekend.
