6 Style Tips to Up Your Jewelry Game

We all know how to wear jewelry, right? Earrings go in ears, necklaces around your neck, and rings on your fingers? You might have a box filled with jewelry that you’ve been wearing for years. But there can be a little more to it than that. If your accessories aren’t grabbing attention as you’d like, here are some style tips to help you up your jewelry game.

Create Layers

You can layer jewelry to create texture and depth with your look. Experiment with different textures, styles, and lengths for a bold look that stands out. You can layer necklaces, teaming chokers with long pendants and chains, and you can also work with different metals, stones, and shapes.

Consider layering a stacking ring collection, working with different metals and stones. You could also layer rings by creating a set across different fingers, instead of wearing them all on the same one.

Use bangles and bracelets to create an arm filled with texture and style, and even consider curating piercings to layer earrings in a stunningly unique design. Layering jewelry is a fabulous way to do more with relatively simple items.

Know When to Stop

Layering is gorgeous, but there is such a thing as too much jewelry. You shouldn’t overcrowd. Keep layered necklaces simple by wearing a plain top and keeping your hair pulled back. And, if you are layering necklaces, stick to plain earrings. Avoid clashing colors and statement pendants within your layers. Don’t try to wear everything all at once.

Make a Statement

The statement pendant, cuff style bracelet, and drop earrings are the very opposite of layering. These are a fantastic way to finish off a staple outfit, but they should be allowed to shine without layers or overcrowding.  ARY D’PO has a great selection of statement pieces, so check them out if that’s what you’re looking for.

Wear Meaningful Accessories

When jewelry means something to us, we wear it with pride; we want people to look at it, it makes us happy, and so our body language changes. Shop the Lisa Leonard Designs for a vast range of meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces. There you will find the perfect jewelry to mark a special event, whether you are looking for name rings, a mothers ring, or something else entirely.

It’s Okay to Mix Metals

Fashion has rules – things like “blue and green should never be seen”. When it comes to jewelry, you may have heard that mixing different metals on the same item is as much of a faux pas as double denim. Well, rules are made to be broken. A delicate necklace featuring both silver and rose gold can look feminine and classy, as well as fun.

Go Over Your Clothes

You might think that you can only wear bracelets with short sleeves or that your necklace should complement your neckline. But what about wearing your jewelry over your clothes? In the winter, a chunky cuff bangle or statement bracelet can look amazing over a heavy knit jumper sleeve or even a wool coat, and a statement necklace will set off a basic turtleneck. Wear your jewelry so that it can be seen.

If you are getting a little bored of what’s in your jewelry box, don’t worry. Instead of shopping for new necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets, change how you are wearing things. Break the rules, have some fun, and give new life to older goods.
