A Guide To Becoming An Empowering Feminist

Feminism gets a lot of flack these days, but that flack usually comes from people who do not understand it. Contrary to popular belief, feminists do not want to rule over men (and those that do would be considered extremists). Feminists simply wish to be equal to men, and no matter how many people shout that we don’t need feminism anymore because we are equal, are wrong. Women still get paid less for doing the same job. Women are still being harrassed day in, day out, both on the street and at work. Women are still being treated entirely differently to how men would be treated in similar situations, meaning they have to work harder to be noticed in the workplace. In other parts of the world, women are even being forced to marry men they don’t want to marry, and genital mutilation is rife. You can become a feminist whatever gender you identify with – below, we’ll quickly tell you how!

Make Sure Your Feminism Is Inclusive

Inclusivity means feminism for women of every color and nationality, for those with disabilities and those who may have transitioned. You can’t be feminist if your feminism is only cis-gendered, able bodied, and white.
