Subtle Means Of Updating Your Look

Many of us are interested in looking presentable and like our best selves. Even if we don’t achieve looking flawless every single day (although you are likely more perfect than you give yourself credit for, even in your imperfections,) we know that making an effort can help us in our personal lives, at work, and to express ourselves well. Feeling well groomed and cared for can feel wonderful, even if we care little about wearing the latest styles or going all out.

For most people, updating a look from time to time can be a pleasant and fun activity. But what about those who simply wish to look presentable and worthwhile without going overboard? Are there subtle means of doing so? We would suggest that yes, you can absolutely achieve this, but you need to know what you’re doing.

Thankfully, our advice should help you to this end, giving you the tools to better your approach and feel more comfortable in your skin. So, why don’t we begin?

Consider Your Insecurities

It’s not as if you can wave a magic wand and allow your insecurities to dry up, no matter how wonderful that thought might be. However, you can still address them, and over time, forget about them. For example, let’s say that you have a birthmark on your collarbone. It’s perfectly normal, but for some reason you have always felt as though it looks terrible. Perhaps a half-remembered insult in the playground could have made you think that way. It’s not uncommon for childhood experiences like this to fester under the surface as we get older, and still have power over our actions. Perhaps, due to this, you usually rare high-collar long shirts to ensure no one sees it.

But do you deserve to have to cover yourself up each and every time? It might be that practicing walking around the park with a comfortable shirt you want to wear (that also reveals your collarbone) can help you enjoy a little more exposure in public, slowly growing in comfort due to this, less concerned with how people might react. After that, you notice that actually, no one even bothers to notice it at all, and if they do, who cares? It’s just a birthmark. This growth in attitude can happen with a little practice and attention. While this is a highly specific example, it can be applied to many situations. Often, simply being less ashamed of yourself (because there’s usually nothing substantially wrong backing this up) can help you flourish.

It will improve your confidence. This will be felt in the way you walk, how readily you smile, how little you feel worried about others, and what styles you decide to try out. They say that loving your own skin is the best outfit you can ever wear, and they’re right. Finding that out for yourself could be the most subtle style change you ever go through.

The Hygienic Trimmings

Added a few hygienic trimmings to your morning schedule can actually help you go much further than you might have initially envisioned. For example, teeth whitening services are there to help you regain that glorious beaming smile you once had, without artificial work that simply blinds anyone unfortunate enough to stand in front of your smile. With a professional service you can clean your teeth carefully, removing long-time stains yet also looking natural. Excellent teeth straightening options also exist to help you ensure any long-term damage or poor growth of your teeth can be fixed and rectified naturally, helping you make the most of your beautiful smile.

It could be that implementing smaller elements into your hygienic schedule could be a great idea. Cocoa body butter could help your shin retain that luminous glow and beautiful subtle scent through the day. A small facial hair trimmer to rid yourself of the smaller hairs that are bound to grow now and then, or a face mask with a friend every week can help exfoliate to the core. The hygienic trimmings of your morning schedule can be so effective in combination that your look and style actually improves because of it. But don’t just take our word for it – try it yourself!

Try A Seasonal Approach

Not everyone can be a fashion mogul, although if you read our content regularly you can get pretty darn close. It’s important to stay consistent, to know what works for you and also to slowly update yourself with the times. A great means of doing this is to try a seasonal approach. A few staples for each temperature condition, and the ability to dress within tones that make the most sense to you can go a long way. For example, in summer you might decide to dress in whites, yellows, beiges and lighter colors that signify light and life. Thinner materials can also help you ventilate, and allow you to tastefully layer should you need to.

Next, dressing in browns , earthy colors, deep reds and slightly thicker clothing in autumn can help your wardrobe shine. This all might sound very simple. It is. What it does is not only give you the chance to experiment with a bunch of styles, but it also keeps things light and interesting. A wardrobe is boring the day it becomes a static thing, and it’s very easy to dress out of place for the current climate shifts you might be experiencing.  Trying a seasonal approach could often be the best shortcut to get there, to the point where you’d be surprised just how effective it is.

We would also recommend at least choosing one or two new things to wear each season, not in terms of items, but in terms of categories. Perhaps an autumn hat might be the catalyst for you to tie together your autumn chic, particularly with long leather boots. A seasonal approach for celebration like this can have more of an impact than you know, and can help you dip your toes into beautiful fashion.

With these tips, we hope you are able to exercise the best and most subtle means of updating your look.
