How To Look Your Poppin’ Best

Is there anything better than stepping out on the weekend, knowing that we’re rocking our best look? When we’re feeling our brilliant best, the whole world seems brighter, it all seems more fun, and we’re more willing to dive in and enjoy all that it has to offer. But of course, many a time we’re leaving our homes feeling, well, slightly less than our brilliant best. It’s not that we look bad — it’s just that we’re not quite strutting a look that makes us feel ten feet tall. However, while there are no guarantees that’ll have you looking amazing every single time, there are things you can do that can increase your chances. We take a look at a few of them below.

Out with the Old

We all have busy lives, and sometimes, this means that some time can pass by before we think about those things that can improve our looks, such as new clothes. The difference between looking good and looking great is fine; it’s the small things that make the difference. If your clothes are slightly old, faded, or have just otherwise seen better times, then we’re not going to feel as pristine as we can. As such, it’s worthwhile giving your wardrobe a spring clean every now and again. You might hate to throw out that beloved top of yours, but you’ll appreciate the upgrade when you’re stepping out on a Friday night.

Get Your Beauty Sleep

We all want to be out, active, and having fun. But we can’t have everything all our own way. You can have an active lifestyle, but if you’re beginning to look a little jaded, then that’s the price you pay. As such, if you want to look your brilliant best, you need to make sure you’re getting enough rest. Indeed, when it comes to looking good, one of the best things you can is simply consistently get a good night’s sleep. A body that’s well-rested will have the energy it needs to look its best.

Relaxed State of Mind

It’s not just your body that’ll want to ensure it relaxed, either — your mind will have a big impact on how you look, and feel. We’ve all seen the effects that the stress of being in power has on world leaders. Now, the effect on your body isn’t going to be quite as extreme, but you get the idea. If you know how to unwind and calm your mind, you’ll keep those stress lines and gray hairs at bay. Plus, you’ll find it easier to enter that easygoing state of mind, which always radiates positive energy.

Hit the Salon

You’ve likely got a pretty strong beauty routine that you can do in your home, but for those days and nights when you really want to stand out from the crowd, take a look at visiting the salon. They’ll be able to make your hair look in such a way that can be impossible to replicate in your home. If the salon also has a spa section, look at getting a massage or other treatments. It’ll loosen up your body — and everyone looks better when their body is in that deeply relaxed vibe, rather than with the hunched up shoulder kind of look.

Make Your Skin Glow

If your skin looks and feels good, then you feel good. A glowing face can more than makeup for less than stylish clothes, or anything else, for that matter. As such, it’s worthwhile finding a routine that works for you. This could involve testing a few different facial scrubs and moisturizers, trying facial fillers, and avoiding foods and drinks that irritate your skin. Also, keep in mind that there are plenty of ways you can inadvertently cause long-term damage to your skin, such as spending too much time in direct sunlight, drinking alcohol, and so on.

Bring that Smile

When people talk about beauty, they tend to talk about things that are just surface deep. But in actual fact, there’s much more that contributes to our overall looks. One of the biggest, for example, is attitude! Someone who’s beautiful but mopey will seem much less attractive to us than an average looking person with a killer attitude towards life. Bring the positivity, and you’ll find that the whole world glows with you. Before heading out, get thinking positive, about the world, and the people in it.
