He put a ring on it

Put your paws up little monsters… Lady Gaga is engaged!!! I am so excited for Mother Monster. Looks like she got a herself not only an extremely handsome man but one who knows how to treat his lady. Taylor Kinney popped the question on Valentine’s Day giving Gaga a one of a kind rare ring that definitely caught my eye.

As a lover of all things beauty, and fashion related I couldn’t help looking more into her rare heart shaped diamond. Every time I think of heart shaped diamonds I think of the “Heart of the Ocean” as seen in the Titanic. Turns out heart shaped diamonds were used as symbols of friendship between royalty. In fact in the 1500s Queen Elizabeth was gifted a heart shaped diamond from Mary Queen of Scots. Even though heart shaped rings are often seen, there have been none quite like Gaga’s. The rave over Gaga’s ring has made headlines with not only the shape, but the size, cut and carats.

We know Gaga for her outrageous fashion, controversial music videos and her love for her little monsters, but recently Gaga has toned it all down. Having cut an album with the one and only Tony Bennett, Gaga’s new fashion sense is soft, elegant and lovely so this ring really accentuates her new look. So congrats Gaga and may I add…. your hubby to be is so handsome I’m a little jealous. No “Bad Romances” here 🙂

1. Begin with dry, prepped hair with NEVO Invisible Control throughout and NEVO Hydra Pearls through the ends

2. Part the hair straight back in an extreme side part

3. Section out three strands of hair to braid in the fringe

4. Begin a Dutch braid by crossing the middle strand beneath the outer strand

5. Continue working back this way, gathering strands from the top, above the part and side below the braid

6. Once you reach the back of the head, pull strands into the braid from below the part

7. Finish the braid by working down towards the side of the head.

8. Fasten with an elastic band

9. Beginning at the end of the braid, tug and loosen each side to increase fullness

10. Work your way up the head, continuing to tug and loosen the braid 11. Finish by setting the hair with NEVO Super Shape Hair Spray for all-night hold

The real head turner of this season’s presentation, the hair! Styled to have drama and edge, the look was created with a lot of grit and texture applied by Rene Furterer’s Volumea Spray and Mousse throughout the scalp. They then hand dried the hair leaving a natural texture that was able to be easily manipulated into a ponytail which was then swept forward for a Faux -Bang with soft natuarla pieces falling out around the perimeter.

Of course if your like me you always wait till the last minute but its always a good time to pull out the classic red lip look. When I think of the red lip two very popular women come to mind. They are of course, Marilyn Monroe and my favorite Lucille Ball. Marilyn pulled it off as a sexy, seductress while Lucy pulled it off in comedy genius so it just goes to show you the possibilities are endless. All is not doom and gloom, even as we watch the stock market crumble. Our current challenging economic climate has shifted the bottom lines of many businesses, though the matchmaking industry continues to boom, especially in Tampa Bay! This shift is in a positive direction!

Typically, at this time of year, around the holiday season, people become more introspective. They start to, once again, look and reflect back on their lives, in a very critical manner. Things they are not happy about become even more important, negative and even more depressing. This is especially true for singles, where the holidays tend to lend themselves to family gatherings, couples, etc., and they feel very alone and isolated.

We at Tampa Bay MatchMakers have seen an increase in new prospects requesting information about matchmaking, coaching, and dating services. This introspection is very good for our business. People are figuring out what they want and what they feel they need. For many of them, they want to find that special someone. Many of them are sad. Many are looking for love. Many have been searching for a number of years, and each year they repeat the same thing…”I don’t want to be alone again next year.”

The major shift we have seen at Tampa Bay Matchmakers this year has been in working with clients who have recently lost their jobs due to the current economic challenges. We take the journey with our clients and coach them throughout the process. In these difficult times, without a job, the clients themselves decide to put their relationship search on hold, as they enter a full time job search. We offer them the option to place their accounts on hold, as they work to find new jobs and regain their self esteem. These clients many times are not in a position to meet new people and start a new, healthy relationship, for the right reasons. We are concerned that they might miss the perfect opportunity…….if the right person were sitting across from them in a booth, would they know it? If their mind is not focused on the relationship and the meeting, as they worry about finding a new job and question their self esteem, they might miss their soul mate who is sitting right across the table from them!
