Baking with Beauty on Studio 10 Wed.

We all love to try the next best beauty product, but what exactly is in those products? Let’s have a “Holiday Beauty Bake” with an assortment of baking ingredients and beauty products that utilize those ingredients in their formulations.

I’ll explain why these ingredients that line the grocery stores baking aisles work well in our skin care products. I will present this segment tomorrow on Studio 10 Tampa/St. Pete!

Nutmeg- can help you achieve smoother and healthier skin by helping you treat several skin problems. It can help eliminate blackheads and unclog pores.

Lemon- Lemon juice can help diminish the appearance of scars and age spots. Is also a great natural treatment for acne and the removal of blackheads. Lemon juice is also a great exfoliator if you have oily skin.

Peppermint- Menthol in peppermint oil cools tired skin, brightens dull skin and helps to control excess oil production. By controlling and eliminating excess oil on the skin, peppermint oil can help prevent acne and clogged pores.

Chocolate- Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants that can help smooth out wrinkles and soften the skin. It makes a great exfoliator that will help remove dead skin cells. Chocolate is also a great moisturizer and can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Vanilla- Vanilla has natural anti-aging qualities. It also makes for a great moisturizer that will help rejuvenate the skin and making it feel soft.

Sugar- It is a safe and natural exfoliator that will help remove dead skin cells. Will not clog your pores. Will help eliminate blemishes and will help balance skin’s natural oils.

Tomorrow on Studio 10 Tampa, St. Pete I explain why these Fall power fruits work so well in skin care formulations: Pumpkin, Grapefruit, Green Apple, Pomegranate, Fig and Pear. Check my segment out!

Pumpkin- The enzymes (a group of complex proteins) in pumpkin make it a safe and natural exfoliator which is alternative to chemical peels. Also, loaded with antioxidants pumpkin protects skin cells from free radicals such as pollution, poor diet etc. The oil from the pumpkin seeds is uniquely beneficial for skin as well. It is rich in essential fatty acids that regulate proper skin sebum (oil) production, which makes it useful for both oily/acne-prone skin and dry skin.

Grapefruit- Grapefruit is rich in antioxidants and vitamins, when applied topically, the grapefruit extract can provide an array of anti-aging benefits like evening skin tone and fighting off free radicals and it promotes the production of collagen.
