Might as well face it.. your addicted

Might as well face it..us women are addicted to skin care. Am I right? We are always striving to find the next best thing to help rid us of those pesky age spots, wrinkles etc. to help reveal the youthful skin underneath! On top of that with being on the go all the time, getting to spend time in a spa is just not on the schedule. Now you no longer have to worry about fitting the spa into your schedule when you get the Kelley West Microderm360.

Kelley West, a licensed medical aesthetician recently created her at-home head to toe microderm tool to help give you beautiful skin without the salon price. Believe it or not using Kelley’s Microderm360 will save you $289 over the course of 6 months. WOW!!!! But what exactly is the Microderm360 all about? The Microderm360 is like it says… An at-home microdermabrasion system that uses the power of diamond tips and suction to lift off all dead skin cells, unclog pores, smooth out wrinkles, reduce dark spots and it helps exfoliate the skin and evens out your skin tone. It’s even great if you tend to have some very stubborn stretch marks. It’s like a magic wand.

Having extremely oily, acne prone skin myself, I have had many people tell me to get a microdermabrasion treatment but have never had time. Now I can get a quick treatment and help get rid of unwanted ugly skin. Even at 24, it’s essential to get rid of dead skin to keep skin looking fresh.

So what are you waiting for?! Get on over to www.microderm360.com now and get your own “magic wand”. Take some time for yourself today because like I said, might as well face it.. You’re addicted to skincare.

I was not there to witness these amazing works but one look at the photos and I was blown away! The creativity, the thought and just the overall appearance of these creations reminds me of something you would see in fashion magazines, T.V. and movies. I swear every mannequin had a theme. A complete makeover. Everything from hair, makeup and even accessories were included. Honestly, I had to remind myself that they are students! I cannot wait to see who wins and am very excited for Gina. This is going to be an awesome event! I will keep everyone updated with info on the event and more!

DIY on a Dime

There are a few things that I am passionate about as a designer, lighting, saving more than a dime, and using my hands to get really creative.  I love this simple inexpensive way to repurpose and bring new light to your room by adding trim to a lampshade.  You can find basic shapes and sizes of lampshades at local craft stores such as Joanne Fabrics or at popular retail store chains such as Target and Walmart or you can simply take your current lampshade and embellish it.

When you have your desired lampshade that fits your lamp all you have to do is find a simple trim from a fabric store that has the right pop of color, texture and style that strikes your fancy.  Be sure to take your lampshade with you when you go to select your trim so that you can lay it against your shade to measure the correct yardage.  You don’t want to end up short! If you don’t have basic sewing skills the shop clerks are always willing to help out so don’t be afraid to ask for assistance.  Now that you have your trim you are ready to go! I found this no sew sample lampshade on Pinterest via hercampus.com.  I wanted to share it with you because the photos are simple to follow step by step and it demonstrates just how easy this project really is!

Remember, you don’t have to be an expert seamstress to create a beautiful, inviting lampshade that fits your unique style and personality. All you need is a lampshade, trim and a hot glue gun with some of your own creative juice!  Have fun with it and please share your creations with me so that I can post and share them on my all of my social media platforms. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Get the Golden Globes look of Sienna Miller

The red carpet of film and television’s biggest night might be over, but we’ll continue admiring all the beautiful looks for a long time to come! Among them was the gorgeous Sienna Miller, star of not one, but two, nominated films this year.

The actress arrived in a plunging beaded Miu Miu gown and sported an effortlessly textured bob styled by Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist Jenny Cho.

According to Jenny, “I wanted to create a beautiful, side-swept, textured look on Sienna to play against her stunning beaded dress and to keep everything fresh and effortless. “

Jenny shares her exclusive tips on how to recreate this look using some of her favorite products:

· Begin by making a deep side part on towel dried-hair and mist Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Volumizing Weightless Blow Dry Spray all over. Blow dry hair with a paddle brush.

· Then create loose waves by using a medium size curling iron on small sections of hair, and repeating this throughout the entire head.

· Apply Suave Professionals Refresh & Revive Dry Shampoo and shake out the hair for movement, and to break up the waves so it looks natural.

· Spray hair from mid-shaft to ends with Suave Professionals Natural Infusion Moisturizing Oil Spray to add a little shine back into the hair, and then lock in the look with Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Volumizing Plump Hold Hairspray.

I’m Sick, do I Workout or Not?

woman runny nose

My mailbox is full of questions on…. “I am sick, can I still work out?” or “I am sick, should I still work out?” or “I am sick, what should I do to work out?” First of all, I want to commend all of you for your dedication to your fitness! So here are a few rules to remember when you are sick.

If you are sick from your neck up, work out.  Chest down and fever, sit down!  So, if you are achy, feeling like you got hit by a Mac truck and feverish your body is fighting an infection and needs it’s rest!!  (Not to mention you are contagious, so rest and let your body recoup).

If you have a headache, cold, runny nose, and that irritating sore throat, suck it up buttercup and get your work out on.  Make sure you wipe down your equipment before and after your workout so you don’t pass on your germs.  An average cold last 7 to 10 days, so you really could get away with just cardio 3 times a week. Keep in mind it really is an old wise tale that you can sweat out a cold. Jump on an elliptical, bike, or even a treadmill – it will keep you moving and keep you “on track” until your cold passes. You can do some resistance training, if you have the energy, but throttle back until your cold passes and then get back to your regular intensity!!!

Bottom line is, yes you can work out if you are sick from the neck up. Do cardio, light weights but most importantly listen to your body, if it needs rest, let it rest!
