Change your priorities & change your life

We all have priorities in our lives, things that are regarded as more important than others like work, kids and bills. Our priorities shape our lives in a positive and or negative way. Are you willing to redesign, some of your priorities for what you want? Here are 3 priorities that we can change to redesign our lives in a positive way.

1. Sleep – Sleep is a priority, more or less depending on the person. I’m sure we have heard “I want to work out, but I don’t have time after work. I have to get my kids, run errands and make dinner, etc.” Why not workout in the morning? If you really want to work out and live a healthier lifestyle you have to be willing to make a change. You can get up 40 minutes earlier to do 30 minutes of cardio. Change your priority, change your life.

2. Family time – Let’s face it, we work hard for the money! We are consistently checking our emails, answering the phone when client’s call, (even if you are at dinner with your family), searching the web for news that is relevant to your work or content for your meeting. Whatever it is you are doing, you are more connected to that phone than the people who are actually around you. We know that work is a priority and yeah without money, the lights won’t be on, or food in the fridge, clothes on our backs and a roof over our heads. Yep, we get all that and I am sure your family really appreciates all that you do for them. But, does your work have to be priority 18 of the 24 hours a day? If you want your family time to be a priority as well, you have to redesign your priorities to change your life. Now, I am not saying quit your job, I am saying manage your time. Example, if you have a 9 to 5 job you clock out, get home and decompress for an hour or so then spend quality time with your loved ones. However, if you are an entrepreneur it is not that simple, but it can be done. You have to set boundaries and stick to them, your clients will understand and fall in step. Example, set a time that you will not answer the phone, return emails or search the web. I know this is tough but you do want to have a relationship with your family, right? Say 8pm to 10pm is family time to just eat, drink, play a game or just cuddle up on the couch and watch a television show/movie. You will be surprised at how your family will react to that. They will feel special and that they are a priority in your life as well. You are in control of your time, time is precious and so is your family, change your priorities, change your life.

3. Money – Money makes the world go round. We all have heard all kinds of excuses based on the fact we don’t have the money. For instance, “I really want to get into shape but I can’t afford a gym membership” “I really want to eat better but healthy food is too expensive” or “I want to take a vacation but I can’t afford it.” We can afford anything we really want. If you really want to get a gym membership, you may have to stop going to Starbucks every day. If you really want to eat better, you can save money by not going out to eat every day for lunch. If you really want to take that vacation, you can save money by not getting your hair done every week or hold off on getting that new pair of shoes or that must have purse. Take the money you saved to get that gym membership, get healthy groceries and take that vacation. Change your priorities change your life.

Love of Pink by Lacoste is a beautiful fragrance for the Holiday Season

unnamed-5-1

I’m very much a fragrance addict and Love of Pink by Lacoste is my new favorite fragrance for everyday use. This fragrance has a fruity comforting scent. It is a blend of refreshing scents that linger underneath the floral overtones of smells such as blood orange, cardamom, violet, jasmine, and vanilla. It’s a very bold and powerful scent! It’s a perfect combination of naughty and nice. Love of Pink by Lacoste captures the essence of a woman full of sensuality. This is an addictive blend of distinctive fragrances that are simply classic.

Love of Pink by Lacoste is a fragrance by the house of Lacoste which was introduced in February 2009.  This is the perfect fragrance to gift to that special lady in you life this holiday season.

Understanding the Basics of Elderly Care

noimage

Elderly care is provided by companies that specialize in helping people with their daily activities such as preparing meals, bathing and cleaning. The caregivers are professionally trained to deal with the diverse needs of every person that they cater to, whether they spend time with them for a few hours each day or around the clock.

Professional Caregivers

Caregivers aim to enrich the lives of their clients while giving their families the assurance that their lived ones are properly taken care of. It is important to talk to elders about their abilities, preferences and specific needs to facilitate suitable care plans that will address their unique needs.

Elderly care is essentially about ensuring that every person has the ability to live as independently as they can in a safe environment. Caregivers provide companionship and facilities provide a social setting that enables elders to network and interact with each other.

Healthcare

Preventative care is provided to maintain good health. For people who may be recovering from medical procedures, caregivers are available to help them stick to their physical therapy routines, keep them safe from potential hazards and ensure that they take their medication.

Choosing Care Facilities

  • Whether you are searching for assisted living or long-term care, there are various decisions that need to be considered. Online resources can help people understand their options in order for them to be able to make the right choices for their families.
  • It is advisable to choose care facilities while looking beyond the individual’s current needs. The right care facility will be able to meet the elder’s needs on a long-term basis. If a loved one requires help and their list of requirements is likely to broaden, make sure the care option that you select is equipped to provide the services that they may need in the future.
  • Speak with your loved ones about the facility and find out whether they will be comfortable with a new living arrangement. Consider their care needs and challenges when looking for senior care services. Visit org.

Facilities and Staff

  • A good way to determine whether or not a care facility is suitable is by making an appointment and scheduling a visit. If you are interested in a particular facility, you can visit during specific times such as when meals are being served to gauge the quality of services.
  • All residential care facilities for elderly people are expected to be clean, organized and focused on providing the best care possible.
  • The staff should have adequate experience in elderly care. They should be aware of the psychological and social needs of their clients. The experience and approach of staff has a major effect on the quality of resident’s lives at care facilities.
  • Staff should always be caring, competent, respectful and committed to preserving the dignity of each person. Choose facilities that are willing to specify their rates and let you know about any extra charge as well as the services that are covered in the overall cost.

The Mane Choice Haircare is my Main Choice

I love my latest find in hair care. It’s called The Mane Choice. I was intrigued by the fact that the line claims to “nourish, grow and retain hair”. Yes!!! You read correctly, Retain Hair! I really need this particular feature in a shampoo right now. Each time I wash my hair I notice more and more strands falling out…Yikes!

The Mane Choice Haircare Line  was created by a Physician and Registered Nurse duo (who are also husband and wife!)  offering solutions to common hair problems.

unnamed-2

What makes The Mane Choice line so unique is that it is infused with vitamins and essential nutrients including Biotin, Vitamin A, B, C, D, & E. After the first use, I felt my hair soft, silky and bouncy. I have very curly hair so I am quite fussy about the haircare products I use and The Mane Choice is a keeper.

Easy On The CURLS Detangling Hydration Shampoo worked beautifully for me. My hair is very dry so I do not wash it every day.  Easy On The CURLS Detangling Hydration Shampoo kept my hair hydrated until the next washing. The shampoo also aids in eliminating knots and tangles, which for me, is a huge reason my I lose hair in the shower. Easy On The CURLS Detangling Hydration Shampoo is infused with Biotin and Vitamin E which adds to the healthiness in your hair which I noticed after the first shampoo.

Compliment your hair washing routine with Soft As Can Be Revitalize & Refresh 3-in-1 Co-Wash, Leave-In, Detangler. This is a 3 in 1 conditioner that is a conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, and detangler. I found that the shampoo and conditioner worked so well I didn’t need to “leave-in” the conditioner but it is a good feature to have.

Applying hair masks is definitely something I need to do more of.  It was when I used the Green Tea & Carrot Deep Strengthening & Restore Mask Treatment that I realized I need to use this product as recommended about every 1 to 2 weeks. After using the mask I immediately felt my hair having a softer texture. Green Tea & Carrot Deep Strengthening & Restore Mask Treatment is enriched with biotin, green tea, and carrot oil and the mask will immediately begin to repair and restore dry and damaged strands.

You only need an extra 15 minutes (with heat) or 1 hour (without heat) every week or so. This may seem like a lot of time especially if you don’t have a dryer like myself, but it is definitely worth it.  After shampooing, apply a generous amount from root to end and massage gently into  your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and sit under a dryer for 15 minutes or leave on with a plastic cap (I used a shower cap) for up to 1 hour without heat. Rinse thoroughly and style as usual. The mask works great for natural, relaxed, permed, and colored treated hair. My 20-year-old daughter is using the mask too and loves it.

If you want to add a supplement to your hair care routine, consider Metabolism Plus. This is a daily complete dietary supplement formulated to grow hair on the scalp longer, thicker, faster and healthier.

The Mane Choice Haircare line contains an array pf products ranging from shampoos, conditioners,  an Ancient Egyptian line, Hair tools, and vitamins. You can find The Mane Choice Hair Care line at  www.themanechoice.com or at Target, Sally’s Beauty, Rite Aid and CVS Pharmacy.

I am Mad about Mad Hippie

 mad_hippie_-_main_product_images_-_vitamin_a_serum_507a5ebf-9e95-43cf-9034-2d96d7f8ef86_1024x1024-2

My skin is very fair and sensitive, so I try to avoid harsh products that may have a lot of additives, but it can be hard to find products that are more natural but that also work well. Mad Hippie seems to have found a best of both worlds scenario with their products. Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum is aimed at fighting wrinkles and sun damage, and while I don’t have many wrinkles as of yet, I’ve had freckles/sun damage since before I can remember. I followed the instructions which state to start out using it every other night for your skin to adjust, then move to every night. This regimen worked out well for my skin and I didn’t experience any over-dryness or red blotchy areas, which can sometimes happen with retinoid type serums on my skin. It has a nice natural scent and felt clean on my skin and didn’t leave any type of film or residue. After several uses, my skin looked a bit brighter and more balanced. As is with most serums, continual use is the key, so I’m looking forward to keeping up this regiment and seeing those freckles and brown spots fade away.

I also tried out the Mad Hippie Eye Cream, which had a light, non-greasy feel to it. I could almost immediately feel the cream hydrating the skin around my eyes and was so refreshing, I almost used it on the rest of my face. It also comes in a pump bottle, which I like so much more than the pots that you need to open and stick your finger in each time you want to use it.
