Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Connie Britton & Infusium

Infusium is excited to celebrate this year’s Golden Globes with Julia Louis-Dreyfus AND Connie Britton, donning their next generation of Infusion products that transform hair heath with every use.

Renowned celebrity stylist, Matthew Monson (@matthewmonzon), worked his magic for Best Actress in a Comedy nominee, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ effortlessly chic look, while Connie Britton’s gorgeous style was created by celebrity stylist, Enzo Angileri (@enzoangileri). Both stylists used Infusium to ensure these ladies hair stayed healthy during and even after their struts on the red-carpet.

See below for the “How To’s” from Matthew and Enzo, and the Infusium products they used…

 Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

“GET THE LOOK” FROM MATTHEW MONZON:

For Julia Louis Dreyfus’ look tonight I wanted her hair to look soft, shiny and stunning.
First, I washed and conditioned her hair with the Infusium Repair + Renew Shampoo and Conditioner.
Next, to protect her hair from any damage, I sprayed Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Treatment from mid shaft through the ends combing through with a wide toothcomb.
Then I took a quarter size amount of Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Crème emulsified in my hands, and worked through the last 3 inches of the hair to help eliminate frizz and flyaways.
I started drying her hair using just my hands, and lifting her strands for texture and root volume. After it was half way dry, I incorporated a round brush to finish and create even more volume.
To keep with Julia’s signature style, I created a strong center part with a tailcomb. Then separated her hair into large sections, and starting curling using a large barrel iron for a more tousled feeling.
To finish the look, I used the Infusium Repair + Renew Smoothing Serum to smooth over the ends and give a bit more definition to the hair.

“GET THE LOOK” FROM ENZO ANGILERI:

I wanted Connie’s style to look elegant, shiny and smooth.
I started by washing and conditioning her hair with the Infusium Repair + Renew Shampoo and Conditioner.
While her hair was still wet, I parted the hair down the middle and then sprayed Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Treatment to the ends of her hair.
Then I sectioned her hair into about 20 sections and starting drying with a round brush. After, I pinned each section up like a roller and let it set for about 5 minutes for volume and natural wave. I took out the pins and brushed her hair so the waves would loosen.
Starting from the back of the head, I used a 1.5 inch curling iron and began curling the hair to accentuate the soft waves.
When finished, I lightly brushed it out again for that natural look. I applied the Infusium Repair + Renew Smoothing Serum at the top of her head, near her part to avoid fly aways!

“Stylist Brad Goreski chose a stunning black and navy blue gown, given the classic color combination I decided to edge it up with a strong smokey eye, dewy highlighted skin and a nude lip with a brown undertone,” said Allan.

Allan prepped Sarah’s skin by using the new Advanced Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Eye Serum under the eyes, and moisturized and softened lips with a few swipes of Eight Hour® Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15.

To create a smoldering smokey eye, Allan used Elizabeth Arden‘s Beautiful Color Eyeshadow in Sparkling Sable, Bronze Lustre and Sugar Cube.

He then applied Beautiful Color Precision Glide Eyeliner in Black Velvet on the upper lashline dragging it towards her temples creating a cat eye shape and finally rimmed the bottom waterline with the in the Sapphire shade.

For flutter and volume, he applied two generous coats of Grand Entrance Mascara in Stunning Black to her top and bottom lashes, and defined and deepened her brows with Beautiful Color Natural Eye Brow Pencil in Brownette.

Retailer Launches Charity to provide Underprivileged Girls Dresses for Dances

69010_1_img8837-1_2
The Founder of UsTrendy which specializes in fashion for juniors and young women, has launched a philanthropic foundation called “The Believe in Yourself Project.”  The program provided thousands of dresses to girls and young women who could not otherwise afford them, to wear at their upcoming school dances. In 2017, The Believe in Yourself Project will be providing dresses for winter dances and homecoming.

In conjunction with donating dresses, Sisakhti seeks to create a mentor program that will provide mentoring services and other support and also bring in women speakers to talk to the girls. The aim is to promote a positive body image and healthy self esteem among young women at an early age, empowering these young girls to take on active social roles within their school communities and to feel good about themselves.

Donations began last winter. “It is truly amazing experience to hear many of the girls say that they now have the confidence to attend their first school dance, now that they have a dress that they feel good about wearing,” says Sisakhti.

This coming week, UsTrendy will be delivering more dresses to the Boys and Girls Clubs around country.

From the Pros: 10 Easy Tricks to Improve Your Posture in 2017

unnamed-2

Your mother may have told you to walk with a book on your head or stand up straight with chin up, but in today’s tech world, how many of us actually follow that advice? Make 2017 the year you straighten up, feel strong and look your best! Author and exercise physiologist Alice Ann Dailey shares her top ten tips for proper form to improve your posture at any age! Do this every day.

unnamed-3

Top 10 Tips to Better Posture:

  1. Stand and walk with knees pointing forward.  This places the thigh bones in the healthiest position into the hip sockets. It will balance core and surface hip muscles, strengthen abdominals, and provide blood circulation and lubrication to the hip sockets.
  1. Point toes, especially the middle toes, forward. It aids in placing the knees forward and improves body balance.
  1. Fit your feet with shoes that do not bind your toes together, but allow movement for your toes. Your toes are your second heart. When the toes are able to move, there is better blood circulation from your feet to your heart and more oxygen to your toes, which can help prevent toenail fungus.
  1. Carry pelvis with tail bone pointing down toward the heels of your feet. Unlike a rooster tail or sad-dog tail position, this places the pelvis in a balanced position that lengthens the lumbar spine, strengthens abdominal and gluteal muscles, and places organs inside the pelvis in a healthy position.
  1. Stand up shoulders wide with the sternum (breast bone) vertical.  This alignment increases inhalation and prevents rounded shoulders, forward head position, and weakened abdominal muscles.
  1. Turn elbows outward.  With collar bones open, shoulders wide, and elbows pointing outward, three core rotator cuff muscles are activated along with core muscles of the front and back of the shoulder girdle and latissimus dorsi (love handle) muscles.
  1. Keep head level.  With the opening of the ear vertical, the chin pointing downward, and back of the ears upward, the cervical curve of the neck will have enough length in the back and strength in the front. The balance sensors inside the inner ears will be in the healthiest position. Before turning your head to look at something up, down, right or left, turn your eyes first as children look. The eye movements activate many muscles of the body.
  1. Unlock knee joints.  Locked knees limit blood flow to the knee joints and eventually will cause knee pain and necrosis. Maintain weight away from the heels and toward the ball of the foot bones with the knee joints unlocked and ready for movement.
  1. Walk like you are walking on a straight line or balance beam.  It will maintain the knees and feet facing forward, narrow your gait, lengthen stride, increase strength of core and surface muscles of the legs, hips, pelvic girdle, and balance sensors. Supermodels do this and so can you!
  1. When walking upstairs, alternate right/left foot placed on the first step. What is your habit when walking upstairs? Which foot do you stand on when the other foot is placed on the first step? There are often an uneven number of stairs.  How we climb up stairs may create an imbalance in muscle strength of our thighs and hips.

Bonus Tip: To avoid “tech neck” discomfort requires correct posture. The healthy seated position for people at a desk/computer all day is to have shoulders and head aligned straight above the hips. Most of us round our shoulders with the head in a forward position. When we must lean forward, it is best to lean from the hips, without slumping at the back of the waist.
