Select the Perfect Wedding Dress According to Your Skin To

nwg-155

If you are a soon-to-be bride, you may require spending a huge amount of time on finding the right outfit for your wedding day. Though most of the Indian brides will opt for the traditional red color, some of them will search for different options too. Here is a guide to help you out from the confused state of mind while choosing your wedding dress.

Dusky Complexion: If you possess the natural dusky complexion, you are very lucky in choosing the colors. You can select the rich as well as the dark colors for yourself. The ideal colors for the dusky brides can be marsala, brick red, burnt orange, etc. Besides, the colors like the bronze, gold and the metallic silver may provide a glamorous look to your face. While selecting the bridal dress, you should not consider bright colors like neon. It is better to avoid the black or the white colors.

  • Pretty Pink – As most women love the pink color, it can be a great hue for your wedding. Peach, rose pink, coral and the candy pink can be some of the ideal choices. You can also try fuchsia or hot pink for your wedding reception.
  • Go Green – In some communities of India, the brides need to wear green during their marriage. While selecting the shade you must be careful, so that it complements your complexion.

Wheatish Complexion: Most of the colors look good in wheatish complexion. Try to choose colors that provide warmth to your complexion. When you are choosing the men’s sherwani for the bridegroom, you must also be careful about his skin tone. Some of the suitable colors for this complexion are saffron yellow, hot pink, tasty orange and vibrant shades of red colors. Besides the traditional pink or red, the other bridal colors can be royal blue, toasted almond, gray, beige, mint green, etc. Some medium toned or earthy colors, such as emerald green, dusty pink, etc., may also look good. For this complexion, it is best to wear warm and rich colors. The pastel or the bright colors can be avoided in this complexion.

Fair Complexion: The women possessing fair complexion can select from a wide range of colors. You can opt for bright shades like red, pink or bright blue. You can also be a little unconventional with the colors like royal blue or the scuba blue. The colors like, Marsala and tangerine will also appear glamorous on the fair complexion brides. If you want soft colors on your wedding, you can opt for mint green, peach, light pink or light purple. Soft shades like, gray or brown can be avoided as they will not complement your complexion. Bright colors must be avoided if you possess a warmer skin tone. You can go with colors like, blue, cool pink and the yellow pastels. The fair complexioned brides will appear glamorous, with the neutral colors as well. If you are yellowish fair in nature, you will appear gorgeous in colors like ruby red, maroon, bright green or navy blue. The light colors like, baby pink , peach and sky blue will appear great in the warmer skin tones. Shiny colors like the golden, metallic blue, silver, and the light shiny purple can also be an option for the fair-skinned brides. Though the black colors go well with the complexion, it must not be tried as it does not go well with the occasion.

This guide will surely help you in choosing the colors for the bride. You must also be cautious about selecting the jewelry so that it complements your dress instead of beating it.

Your skin will look brighter and more vibrant with Hanskincare C20 Serum

ef2bfe_b1ae466cf40742eebed914647c4f9b78
I’ve always heard of the benefits of vitamin C for the skin, and this C20 Serum is a great addition to your morning and night routine. I was hesitant to use this in the morning since serum’s I have used in the past can be heavy leaving your face a little oily looking, but this one absorbs right away and after a few minutes, you can’t even feel it. There is almost no scent to it, though I did detect a faint scent of coffee when I smelled the product in the bottle, but not sure why and it wasn’t very strong at all. Using 5-6 drops worked well for coverage for me and after using it for a few days, twice a day, my skin started to look brighter and more vibrant.

Morning, Afternoon, and Night… Which Foods Will Do You Right?

unnamed-5

From the Pros:

Before you grab that morning cup of coffee on an empty stomach, that lunchtime slice of pizza, or indulge in a steak dinner or ice cream while watching TV, understand that what you eat and when you eat it can lead to stomach upset. It can also trigger more severe issues in your gut. On the flip side, there are some foods that when eaten at certain times of day may soothe already existing stomach issues or may even prevent stomach ailments from occurring down the line. We spoke with Dr. Gina Sam Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York who offers insights on what and when to eat certain foods for a healthy gut.

Best Bets for Morning

 Yogurt

It’s important to start the day with a healthy breakfast that factors in stomach health. Probiotics found in Greek yogurt is ideal as it regulates the growth of harmful bacteria that grown in the digestive tract. Probiotics also keep colon lining healthy as it breaks through gastric acid and gets to the colon. In 2015 a study published in the The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology showed that yogurt might improve intestinal function for those with inflammatory bowel disease. Those who are lactose intolerant can enjoy lactose free yogurt.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a great bet for breakfast and can be topped with blueberries another gut friendly food. Oatmeal doesn’t cause acid reflux. It soothes any morning stomach upset and regulates bowel movements.

Fresh Fruit

Honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon are great options for those sensitive to reflux. Bananas help restore potassium, electrolytes and normal bowel function, especially if you have diarrhea. Bananas are also high in fiber, which is great for digestion.

The Lunchtime Lowdown

Salads

Eating leafy greens daily is a great for digestion. Lunchtime salads that include grilled salmon; chicken or turkey won’t cause reflux and will be easily digestible throughout the afternoon. If you are sensitive to acid then you will want to avoid onions or tomatoes and for some even the seeds in cucumbers can trigger a bout of stomach cramping. Be careful with lemon juice and vinegar in salad dressings, which can promote reflux. Try adding fennel with arugula and baby spinach along with parsley. Parsley is known to help digestion and settles the stomach.

Kimchi

This delicious Korean coleslaw is made primarily with cabbage, which promotes the growth of healthy bacteria in the colon. Also cabbage helps to eliminate waste regulating bowl movements. Home made sauerkraut is also a delicious option but be mindful if you are sensitive to spicy foods. This is why it is best to make your own so you can regulate the amount of spice.

Mediterranean Plates

Lunchtime is optimal for grilled veggies, legumes such as lentils with olive oil along with grilled fish or chicken. Preparing a plate of various whole grains, cauliflower, carrots, figs and pears are all great sources of fiber for the mid day.

A Digestible Dinner

You really want to focus on ease of digestion at dinnertime. Foods that are high fat

can overwhelm the stomach, resulting in acid reflux and heartburn. Steatorrhea or pale colored stool is excess fat in the feces. People with IBS fare better when they avoid high fat foods. That said here are some options for a healthy gut.

Grilled Fish

Cold-water fish such as salmon, halibut, or tuna when grilled in olive oil are full of omega-3 fatty acids, which can address any inflammation in the digestive tract. According to a 2014 study featured in the World Journal of Clinical Cases, omega-3’s were sites as being beneficial to those with ulcerative colitis.

Grilled Chicken with Couscous or Brown Rice

Chicken another lean meat that offers protein and is easy to digest goes great with couscous or brown rice especially if you tend to get acid reflux after late meals. Another option for a side dish is guacamole or avocado slices with lime. Artichokes also feed the good bacteria in your gut as does asparagus and lentils.

Stomach Friendly Snacking

When it comes to snacking there are several options you can reach for. Granny smith apples with almond butter, baby carrots and hummus, hallowed out cucumber and cottage cheese, kale and zucchini chips and assorted nuts (not peanuts) are all healthy and good for the gut.

You know your body best. Pay close attention to what agrees with you at varying times of the day and if you notice changes in how you take to certain foods see your doctor.

3 Methods to Overcoming Obstacles

I was recently a panelist for National Association of  Professional  Women and the topic was Overcoming Obstacles, Even During the Most Challenging Times.  It was such an amazing group of panelist and we all had a way to overcoming obstacles that I felt was so incredibly clear and concise that I must share with you.   Let’s face it, no matter where you are in your life you have obstacles.  Everyday, we face obstacles, we have to make discussions that will effect not just today but our tomorrows.  Let me start by giving you  the definition of Obstacle:  It is a thing that blocks one’s way or prevents or hinders progress.  No matter how small or big.   I’’ll share with you 3 simple tools you can add to your toolbox and tackle any obstacle.

1.  Face fear – Look, we all have that fight or flight gut reaction and unfortunately many women have that flight reaction stronger than men.  We generally don’t want conflict.  Listen, when we have a plan set in our mind, we move toward that goal but  if someone else (may it be your boss, co-worker, or even your spouse) have a different plan we tend to agree and shy away from our plan even if it isn’t in our best interest.   No more, let’s face our fears. Speak up, show up and be prepared to stand for what you want.    You have a voice use it, no more sticking our head into the sand.  You will be surprised at how great you feel from standing up for something you believe in rather than just going with the flow  and your plan has been sidetracked.

2.  Hold yourself accountable –  We can come up with tons of excuse (obstacles) that can prevent us from doing the things we set out to do. Did you plan out your week? Did you make all the calls you were suppose to make?  Did you workout like you said you were? I could go on and on.  However, we all have 24 hours in a day it’s what we do in those 24 hours that count.  Plan out your week.  Set appointments for the things you have to complete and keep your appointment!  Look at yourself in the mirror and get real with yourself,  you can hide from other but not the person staring back at you.

2.  Get a team –  Look, we all have our strengths and weakness the key is to address them.  Sit down and make a list.  Once you have found your strengths, great focus on those and move forward.  However,  we have to acknowledge our weaknesses.  We all have weaknesses and that is not an obstacle we can’t overcome.   There are people who are strong where we are weak.   Seek out those people and form your dream team.

Meryl’s Personal Tricks and Tips for…Pampering Beauty during Treatment

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Meryl shares with us how cancer has prompted her to give her beauty routine a green makeover, a challenge that would later inspire and motivate her to create Hynt Beauty, and the tricks she learned to pamper herself so she could look and, in turn feel, her best while fighting cancer.

1. Switch to organic and fragrance-free moisturizers
Treatment often slows down the skin’s ability to renew itself and reduces the production of sebum, the skin’s own natural moisturizer. As a result, your skin becomes dry and parched and, in the worst cases, can flake and itch.Keeping your skin as hydrated as possible during this time is essential. Unfortunately, too many moisturizers on the market contain undesirable ingredients that can at worst, interfere with your treatments and worsen your skin’s condition.

Meryl opted for organic formulas that nourish and pamper the skin and made sure they are fragrance-free, too. Your sense of smell becomes very acute during treatment and even the subtlest scent can make you feel nauseous. Meryl’s go-to brand that fits all these requirements is Acure, especially their Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion, Bare Baby Lotion, Moroccan Argan Oil and Sensitive Facial Cream!

2. Deep condition your hands and feet
Your face isn’t the only part of your body that needs an extra dose of tender loving care during this difficult time. Up your moisturizing game by giving your hands and feet a pampering deep conditioning treatment before you go to sleep. Slather on rich and moisturizing oil-based natural balms and then put on a pair of cotton gloves or socks. In the morning, your extremities will be much softer and smoother.
3. Wear physical sunscreen every day
Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is always a good idea, but it becomes of paramount importance during cancer treatment when your skin is extremely vulnerable and sensitive. Ideally, you should avoid the sun as much as possible but that’s not always feasible. To give your skin the extra protection it needs, use a physical sunscreen with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. Unlike their chemical counterparts that are easily absorbed by the skin, these natural minerals remain safely on its surface where they create a protective shield that reflects UV rays away from it.

4. Neutralize facial redness
Steroids are often prescribed as part of treatments to help reduce inflammation. Unfortunately, they have several side effects, including flushing, redness and rashes. If your skin is affected by steroid redness, the best course of action is to mask it with makeup.
A yellow-toned powder, such as our FINALE Finished Powder in Neutral Yellow can neutralize the redness, rendering it near invisible to the naked eye. It is also formulated with organic arrowroot, which serves as a natural remedy to deeply hydrate and soothe irritated, tired skin. For best results, apply it with a brush with synthetic bristles. Animal hair brushes tend to be coarse and, therefore, more irritating.

5. Smell good with natural deodorants

Some cancer treatments can force a woman into early menopause, which can result in frequent perspiration during hot flushes. If this is happening to you, it may be very tempting to use heavy-duty antiperspirants containing aluminium.

What you may not be aware of is that antiperspirants cause more problems than they solve. To start with, they act like a plug, sealing shut the entrance to your sweat ducts, thereby stopping the flow of sweat. As desirable as this may appear during a hot flush, this is far from healthy.

In addition, aluminum can easily be absorbed by the skin and has been linked to breast cancer. A safer alternative is a natural deodorant that contains baking soda and/or kaolin clay. However, due to the skin’s heightened sensitivity at this time, some patients report a mild irritation even to these gentler ingredients. A better option that Meryl used and wholeheartedly recommends is natural corn starch powder like Honest Company’s Organic Baby Powder.

6. A polished manicure

Many cancer patients experience nail deterioration and even loss, so traditional manicures and nail polishes are strictly forbidden at this time. To help your nails stay in the best possible condition, keep your nail care routine simple and basic. Keep your hands clean, trim your nails and make them shine with a soft nail buffer. Finally, work in a bit of olive or jojoba oil to stave off brittle nails.

7. Go green with your lipstick

A creamy lipstick or shiny gloss is always a great mood-lifter. But, once again, it is important to pay careful attention to the labels and what they contain. Opt for unscented and organic formulas that are free of harsh and potentially toxic chemicals. Lip products can be easily ingested so why risk even the slightest chance of causing more havoc on your health now or in the future, when there are purer, equally beautiful colors and great natural brands to choose from!

Meryl and the rest of the Hynt Beauty team sincerely hope that these little bits of advice will somehow give you or your loved one, some relief from the side effects but moreover, give the confidence boost to fight against cancer – in style! If you have any additional tips, please do send us an email, comment on our social platforms or comment on this blog post! We are sure others will find it helpful as well.
