From Laura herself, here are her tips for getting the look!
1. I started with the hair wet, prepped with mousse at the roots through to the ends and serum on the ends. I rough dried until about 80% of the moisture was out.
2.Then using Scunci hair clips, I sectioned the hair from ear to ear and began blow drying with a mason brush in the back. Moving to the sides I directed the hair down.
3. For the front I worked with Lindsey to find a side part she liked. From there I directed the section down and over to get a swoop that wasn’t in her face too much. I flat ironed the ends to keep smooth
4. For little flyaways, I used a little clay and finished out with a couple no slip grip scunci bobby pins in the back to keep one side tucked and secured them!

Stand out above the crowd with Prestige

I always loved adding bright vibrant colors into my makeup looks but sometimes, with my pale skin, no matter how intense they were they just never seemed to show up. First off lets talk lips. The Total Intensity Lip Crayon is a smooth, luscious lip crayon that is long lasting and packed with color. With its pointed edge it makes applying lips so much easier.

I received the “On the Prowl” which I love that name because it reminds me of my favorite animal.. the tiger. On The Prowl Color Rush is perfect combination of high, even pigment, and controlled application. It also has skin benefiting agents and looks gorgeous as an accent color. They work extremely well with the Fierce Color Eye shadows. I have Hocus Pocus & Obsession which are also great for use as liquid eyeliner. When wanting a metallic, “foiled” on look, go for the True Metals from Total Intensity. Does not crease, easily buildable application so you can go as bold or as subtle as you like. I have used “Sterling” even wet and got an even more intense look. So much fun!
Now onto the trios. Three intense long lasting pigments packed into one package. Perfect for a “high fashion” edgy look with the three colors. Again very highly pigmented, long lasting and intense lol. Smoke & Mirrors will give you that perfect smoky eye. And that brings me to the eye shadow stick. A creamy textured eye shadow crayon that does not smudge and is long lasting giving you an incredibly bold pop of color. Jungle War green makes eye colors pop!
And of course last but not least, no eye look is complete without eyeliner and mascara. The Total Intensity eyeliners are waterproof, last up to 10 hours and have beautiful deep black undertones. This really makes all the colors accent your natural eye color beautifully. I tried to take off my eyeliner and had to wash my eyes 3 times just to get it completely off. They mean waterproof! Then those lashes need some intensity as well. With its uniquely designed wand. you can get the perfect coating and long luscious lashes instantly. Does not come off and wont smudge.

“Bow tie” it up
I have always loved learning anything and everything about this industry and on top of that I also love history. Little did I know that back when I was a tween and found my passion that history and the beauty/fashion industries go hand in hand. What do I mean by that you ask? The more I learned about clothes, or makeup etc. the more I started realizing that each style, or product has its own historical background. There is one particular fashion statement that has made its way back into the scene that I cannot wait to share its history with you. Its none other than…. THE BOW TIE!!!!

Alot of my guys friends have incorporated the bow tie into their own personal style. Not only that being a lover of all things vintage, have noticed “Old Hollywood” celebrities rocking the bow tie as well. After doing some research I found the bow tie became widely popular back in the 19th century as a modification of the “cavat” tie. By the 1880s, bow ties made their way into the closets of the fashion conscience man. In 1886 Pierre Lorillard designed the black bow tie and wore it to formal ball. Thus getting the infamous “black tie affair” term. Isn’t that awesome? But there is more about this statement that really shocked me. In the 1920s & 30s the famous men’s fashion statement quickly cross gendered & started being worn by women on the silver screen. Two in particular are Katherine Hepburn & Marlene Dietrich.

Fast forward to 2015 and the famous bow tie is now a statement made by men and women of all ages. Throughout the years, its design has been revamped, redefined, fabrics have been changed and now can be made with the person in mind. We can see celebrities such as Drew Barrymore & Johnny Depp sporting the bow tie & even fashion blogs all over showcase fashionistas donning them. Is it amazing how a simple accessory that was actually made to showcase what your “class” was is now one of the most popular statements?
