Warm Weather Beauty Prep from Spruce & Bond

unnamed-2

Warm weather has finally arrived, and it’s time to start showing off some skin. Head to Spruce & Bond, the chic go-to hair removal destination, to start the season off right.

Even if you do not have a Spruce & Bond just yet in your area, check out these expert tips from Spruce & Bond Specialist Keiann Roberts before heading to your next wax appointment:

– Make sure your hair is at least a quarter of an inch long. If your hair is too short, the wax may have a hard time gripping the hair. At Spruce & Bond, hard wax is used for more sensitive areas and soft wax for other areas. This wax is patented and exclusive to Spruce & Bond, specially formulated to grip hair and not skin, helping with less ingrowns and less irritation.

– Don’t shave in between appointments. This can lead to the possibility of ingrown hair and irritation to the skin. Shaving will exacerbate the problem, causing uneven hair re-growth in-between waxing sessions as well.

– Don’t exfoliate before your appointment. The wax itself will exfoliate while removing unwanted hair.

– After 48 hours, gently exfoliate the waxed area once every few days to fend off ingrowns.

– Don’t do anything physical after you leave like go to the gym. Tight workout clothes and movement can irritate the area, creating unwanted redness.

– Get your wax at least 48 hours prior to going in the sun. This skin may be more susceptible to sunburn so it’s important to avoid sun, and be sure to lather up with SPF on a daily basis.

How to Look Slim In Indian Outfits?

34041_0n

Generally, every woman will desire to flaunt a slimmer figure. As everyone is not naturally blessed with a slim body, you are required to take some efforts for looking slim. You may hit the gym or maintain a proper diet, but sometimes all your efforts may go to vain. But, you should not worry! Here are some simple tricks that will make you appear slimmer in the Indian outfits.

Look Glamorous In Sarees: You must be careful of the drape and the fabric while flaunting your saree. Try to avoid heavy fabrics like cotton, silk, organza etc. which can add more volume in your body. For creating an illusion of a slimmer body, you can go for georgette, crepe, chiffon etc. If you possess some extra flab around your stomach and waist, you should not go on tucking a large number of pleats at your navel. Try to spread and adjust them all along the waist so that the fabric volume will not focus at a single place.

Careful with Blouses: After you have gathered some knowledge about what sarees will suit you best, you must take care of the blouses. To hide a heavy bust area, you can go for printed blouse instead of embellished or embroidered ones. The lightweight logic can be applied here as well. If you possess heavy arms, try to avoid sleeveless blouses and go for quarter sleeved blouses. When you plan for a lehenga choli, try to keep all the same factors in mind. Make sure that the choli is long enough for covering your waist.

Play with Salwar: Try playing with your bottom wear. Here the fitting logic is slightly different. You should go for slim fit bottoms instead of the loose ones. The long anarkali salwar kameez will surely look glamorous if you choose the bottom properly. You can really create a magic by choosing narrow Salwar and it will surely make your waist appear smaller than your actual one. Sometimes, it may provide a look of a stylish trouser and can even be flaunted with a shirt. But you should be careful about the fabric when you are opting for churidaar. It should never be a body hugging fabric. Instead you can go for the fabric that never stretches. Cigarette pants can also be one of the trendy alternatives for you. These are simply loose trousers which are made up of lightweight fabric. You can flaunt those pants with long kurtas and look stylish and elegant.

Have Fun With Kurtas: You should avoid the body hugging kurtas as they will put more emphasis on your heavy body. You can go for a bit loose ones. Be sure that the material of the loose kurtas is not very clingy in nature. The best option of the fabric can be the cotton ones. When your thighs and hips are heavy, make sure that the long kurtas are hiding those parts of your body as well. You should always flaunt slightly loose kurtas instead of very loose ones.

Color and Accessories: Ensure that you are choosing the right color and the accessories for a slimmer look with Indian outfits. Even if you are not actually slim, the dark colors create illusion and can easily hide your problem areas. Among the accessories, sleek bangles and bracelet watches will make you look slimmer. Try to avoid heavy neckpieces and flaunt your earrings with style!

When you are looking glamorous with Indian outfit, add the right footwear and style your hair properly to complete the look. If you want a slim effect, let your hair be loose instead of tying them up.

Three Cheers for Biosil!

As the old saying goes “The proof of the pudding is in the eating” I was told by a gal working at my local health food store that Biosil would greatly improve issues that I was having from my hypothyroidism, specifically with my hair and nails. For nine months now I have faithfully taken Biosil and have seen a noticeable improvement in my skin, hair, nails, and joints! Knee pain that I used to suffer terribly from when running, skiing and or playing soccer has become almost non-existent. My hair is thicker and my nails seem to grow faster. And the weirdest one of all…. my grey hairs seem to be fading, which I might add was even verified by my colorist. Then on top of it all I stumbled upon Christie Brinkley who appears to be touting all of the same things and then some. How fantastic does she look for 61! Collagen… Collagen… Collagen.

In researching Biosil it appears to be an advanced collagen generator, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, strengthening and thickening hair, improving skin elasticity as well as strengthening nails.

Honestly this is one of those things that you just need to try out for yourself and do some reading up on reviews of the product. Definitely worth giving it a go!

Enjoy Skyy Hadley’s Rejuvenating Hot Cream at-home Hand and Foot Treatment

unnamed-1

Celebrity manicurist and owner of As U Wish Nail Salon, Skyy Hadley’s shares her Rejuvenating Hot Cream at-home Hand and Foot Treatment! Below is a step by step guide to make this at home.

1) Remove all nail polish with a gentle polish remover
2) Begin by sloughing off winter’s dead and dry skin with a homemade sugar scrub (salt scrubs can be drying or irritating) made of sugar, a few drops of vegetable glycerin and a few drops of an uplifting essential oil such as peppermint or rosemary.
3) Gently rub hands together to scrub away dullness. Use a wash cloth to rub the scrub into your feet. Remove scrub with a warm wet cloth.
4) Next, Skyy tells consumers to not soak fingers or feet in water. By doing this you are actually drawing the moisture OUT of your skin
5) Instead, heat up 4 plastic baggies full of a thick, luxurious cream and add a few drops of an invigorating essential oil such as tangerine, ylang ylang, or chamomile, they all work great. Heat until very warm but not too hot. Hands and feet need only need about 2 minutes in bags for moisture to penetrate to the skin.
6) Remove hands and feet from bag and massage cream into skin, wiping off any excess
7) Make sure there is no cream on nails before applying polish.
