4 reasons why you need to have a lawyer in Houston

topaward

The law is such a complicated segment of the society. There are certain laws that you may not know exist until you actually commit a crime. It is funny how the only way that you may get to know about the existence of some of the laws is only if you commit the offense or someone close to you does.

This is exactly why you need to have a lawyer. Imagine a situation whereby you are caught on the wrong side of the law. This could be the trickiest of situations you may have ever imagined. You may not be able to handle all that pressure on your own. This is when the thought of having a lawyer strikes your mind. That is the best solution that you can ever get.

In some situations, even your die-hard fans may not be in a position to help you out. There are some situations where only a lawyer will be your refuge. This is the one person who is well versed with all that appertains to the law and has got everything it takes to ensure that you win your case.

You therefore should not hesitate to look out for a lawyer in such sticky situations; and not just any lawyer but one who is Voted top 100 Trial Lawyers. It is therefore crucial that you have at least one lawyer’s contact. Here are 4 reasons why you need to have a lawyer:

  • Avoid problems

You notice that sometimes you may be putting yourself in tricky situations, such as like choosing to have no representation in court. This should be the last thing on your mind and the worst mistake that you can ever make. Going in for a case without a lawyer should be the greatest of your fears.

Questions may arise, some of which you may not be able to answer them, or you may not even know how to answer them.

  • Competition

Think of the court of law as a battle field. If your other opponent comes in with a lawyer, you are most likely to lose the case. This should make you fear the most. You need to ensure that you have a lawyer to represent you in court due tosuch reasons, pure completion of a race that you definitely have to be the winner.

  • You are more likely to win a case with a lawyer

This is because a lawyer will know when to bend and just how far to go low to ensure that you get to win the case. You on the hand may not be able to do that on your own.

  • You may have no knowledge whatsoever of the law

Being in your position as the offender of the law, you may have absolutely no knowledge of the law, or at least that which can help your case. This is the more reason why you need to have a lawyer.

A Healthy & Beautiful Twist on Lemon Bars: Abby Phon’s Original HYNT Recipe

unnamed-5

Lemons are Amazing for your Health & Beauty

Like all citrus fruits, they’re high in Vitamin C but they also have Vitamins A, E and various B Vitamins PLUS essential minerals like copper, calcium, iron,  magnesium, potassium, zinc and phosphorus for our body to function smoothly. In addition to these nutrients, lemons are rich in flavonoids and have well documented anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, too.

In addition to all the great things lemon does IN your body, it can also be amazing on the outside, too. Used properly, lemon juice can help control acne, eczema, sunburns and wrinkles on your skin as well as with dandruff and hair loss.

Morning Lemon Tip

Lemon juice is alkalizing and detoxifying – a great way to rebalance your stomach in the morning.  Having a glass of lemon juice mixed in water first thing in the morning can help clean out your system, get your digestion going and aid in weight loss.

WHAT YOU NEED

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked overnight (ideally 4+ hours. If you are in a rush, soak at least 20 minutes in boiling water), drained

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk, refrigerated overnight

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (~2 large lemons)

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp arrowroot powder

  • Zest of one lemon

  • 1/8 tsp pink Himalayan salt

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup organic rolled oats

  • 1 cup raw almonds

  • 4 tbsp coconut oil, melted

  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line an 8×8 inch pyrex dish or baking pan with parchment paper

Add oats, almonds, salt, and coconut palm sugar to a Cuisinart or high speed blender and mix on high until finely ground

Transfer to a mixing bowl and add maple syrup and melted coconut oil

Mix well until a loose dough forms. If too dry and crumbly, add a bit more melted coconut oil

Transfer to pyrex dish and press evenly and firmly into the bottom

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown

Remove from oven and let cool slightly before adding filling

While crust is baking, scoop the solid cream from the top of the can of coconut milk and add to Vitamix or high-speed blender

Add cashews, maple syrup, lemon juice & zest, arrowroot and salt and blend until smooth

When crust is cooled slightly, pour the filing over top and bake for 20-25 minutes, until center is no longer liquidy

Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly

Refrigerate overnight (or at least a few hours) to completely set

    ENJOY!

Face Paint for a Healthier Halloween!

Halloween is quickly approaching, and it’s time to nail your family’s costumes down. In order to make sure you stay healthy while participating in the fun, Sophia Ruan Gushee, author of A-to-Z of D-Toxing: The Ultimate Guide To Reducing Our Toxic Exposures, has created the ultimate recipe for nontoxic DIY face paint that the whole family can have fun making together!

There are many dangerous toxicants found in conventional paints, including lead, nickel, cobalt, and chromium. This recipe is quick, easy, and a great alternative to the common varieties out there:

Ingredients
· 1 ½ tbsp cornstarch

· ¼ tbsp all purpose flour

· 2 tbsp honey

· ½ tbsp water

· Natural food color (seek nontoxic products on Amazon, or use household foot items that can act as natural dyes)
· Mix the cornstarch and flour in a bowl. Add the honey and water to your mixture. It should create a thick, gluey substance that resembles a paste. If the paint is too thin, add more cornstarch and flour. If too thick, add extra water.

unnamed-1

Divide the mixture into separate bowls, and add your coloring. For example, you can use turmeric for yellow, and paprika for red.

unnamed-1

·         The paint comes out a bit more thick and gooey than conventional face paints, but the colors come out beautifully and stay on for hours.

unnamed-2-1

·         While the paint dries well, the honey component makes the paint slightly sticky to the touch. Avoid touching the paint after it is applied.

Try Sophisticated, Healthy Hors D’oeuvres for Your Next Party

14188588_1172780182744844_3452261360465977971_o
You’ve got a million things to do to plan your next affair. Of course, the food you serve will be an important part, but if you’re trying to eat healthy you may feel as if your options are limited. Would you be happy to know that this is simply not true? Indeed, crafting unique, healthy aperitifs is less of a challenge than you might think. With some careful planning and some smart shopping, your party platter is sure to please your guests and your waistline. The key is mixing in a variety of nutritious, low-fat fare in your spread.

Elegantly Elevate Your Bar Food
You can kick your gathering up a few notches with some lower-fat versions of traditional pub munchies. You’ll pleasantly surprise your friends with leaner versions of tried-and-true favorites such as pizza or deep-fried foods. For pizza, opt for thinner whole grain crusts, or even pita bread for an interesting switch-up. Top with veggies, lean meats, and lower fat cheeses to score a win with your crowd. And as for those sinfully crunchy fried goodies, go for baked versions to avoid some of the fat and calories. Some great examples include baked onion rings and mozzarella sticks — and you can find recipes for these on the Food Network website.

Grains Give Your Goodies a Satisfying Crunch

By now, you’ve probably heard all of the contradictory advice about carbs. Eat them. Don’t eat them. What gives? But most nutritionists recommend choosing complex carbohydrates over the simple, processed versions because of their fiber and nutrient content. Whole-grain crackers, pita bread or other whole-wheat products make an excellent accompaniment to cheeses, meat, fruit, vegetables and dips. And some small amounts of white breads are okay. For instance, you might incorporate sliced and toasted baguettes in your spread in dishes such as bruschetta.
Charge It Up With Cheese
When impeccably paired with fruits, vegetables and bread, cheese is a stellar performer in both taste and texture. You already know about lower-fat favorites such as mozzarella and feta. However, lesser known versions will make your partygoers sit up and take notice. Goat cheese with its unique mellow flavor is always a winner. Opt for Neufchatel, a French cheese that works well as a creamy spreadable topping, as opposed to traditional cream cheese. And try Camembert, a distinctively tasting variety that’s a great accompaniment to an assortment of crackers and fruit.

Sinful Sauces and Dreamy Dips
Here’s some more good news: you don’t have to give up the sauces and dips! Going for healthy editions is easier than you think. Hearty bean-based dips, or similar noshes such as hummus, are scrumptious alternatives to the usual high-fat dips. For other fantastic fare, opt for ghanoush, a Levantine dish made out of eggplant, lemon, garlic, tahini and salt. Greek yogurt is also a wonderful low-fat base for creamy dips. And if you seek some plant-based ingredients for dressings, sauces and dips, try products just as Just Mayo in original flavor from Hampton Creek.

From Sweet to Spicy to Crunchy, Try Produce for a Fresh Flair
No party platter would be complete without a good assortment of fruits and vegetables. Incorporating them is unbelievably simple. You can go traditional, with time-tested treats such as spinach and artichoke dip. Another tasty example is endive: its subtle flavor makes the leaves ideal to fill with bold choices such as bacon, or the mellow smoothness of brie, or even the sweet yet mildly tart blood orange. They’re even great as part of a crudité arrangement, along with standard choices like carrots and cherry tomatoes. Check out the California Endive Farms website for some fresh ideas.

Mix It Up With Wise Healthy Choices
Nobody said you had to stick to celery sticks for your party fare. (Sorry, celery sticks — no offense intended!) But offering a gloriously colorful palette of foods with contrasts in tastes, texture, aroma that also look gorgeous and are healthy is a wise idea for your next bash. The key is choosing foods that are high in fiber, low in fat and packed with other nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, protein and antioxidants. Preparing leaner versions of high-fat fare, mixing in healthy grains and produce, and rethinking your dips allows you to try foods that aren’t your everyday noshes.

How Yoga can Help Heal Injuries

yoga-training-bali

Those who practice yoga teacher training have to often deal with injuries as well. Those from overworking ourselves in daily activities, in yoga or other exercises. Sure, yoga in a Bali resort can be a therapeutic in healing and recovery – but done wrong, it can be an impediment to healing or even worsen the condition.

It’ll do well to adhere to some simple guidelines while practicing yoga when under an injury. Utilize the power of yoga to activate the body’s lymphatic system and by improving local circulation. Thereby supporting the healing process.

There are three main stages to healing after an injury occurs. By becoming aware of these and following the guidelines for each stage we can speed the healing process and reduce the risk of aggravating the injured area.

I. The Acute Stage: During the acute period, rest the injured area for 4-6 days. Do not perform any movements that might aggravate the injury or produce pain. Using ice or a compression (an ace bandage) on the injured area during the first few days after the injury is recommended to help relieve inflammation and pain, and to expedite the recovery process. At the beginning inflammation is usually present, so elevating the affected area will help to reduce any swelling and also any throbbing or discomfort.

Here, inversion poses will be helpful by activating the lymphatic system, especially if the injury is in the lower body. Once the swelling subsides, very gentle and slow movements can be performed, but not so as to stretch the muscles that trigger the pain. Even though the area may feel constricted and prefer a stretch, it will not help with the healing process and most likely will re-injure the area preventing the healing process.

II. The Secondary Stage: This subacute stage of injury follows lasts between 1-3 weeks. During this period the injured tissue is still fragile and prone to re-injury. Gentle stretching is the key to recovery. Focus on your breath and the sensations of stretches, but do not over extend to the point of pain.

The next step involves slowly and gently strengthening the muscles involved in the injury. Start off with slow, gentle non-weight bearing movements and gradually increase the range of movements and repetitions. As symptoms disappear, gradually progress to weight-bearing movements. Adequate warm-up sessions before and proper alignment during yoga is essential in this healing stage.

Assume the poses slowly and gently; hold them for long times and maintain slow deep breathes in the poses. Any movements that aggravate your symptoms should be avoided. If any pose results in pain, tingling, or numbness do not continue.

III. The Chronic Stage: This stage of injury may take up to 12-18 months for achieving complete healing. Even though the injured site may feel right it will still be prone to re-injury and/or chronic inflammation. It is important to exercise care during this stage as the injury will not have healed fully. Severe pain lasting more than a few days without improvement requires medical attention.

These guidelines will help you in continuing your yoga practice while allowing for the healing process of your injury. Keep in mind that a yoga practice should be used only to supplement conventional therapy, not replace it. You can also take guide from yoga teacher training with ease to heal your injuries.
