Lately, the only time my daughter needs to purchase snacks is when she is having friends over the house or going to the beach. Today we are stocking up on snacks for the beach, and we found just what she was looking for at CVS. CVS/pharmacy carries an array of healthier “Gold Emblem Abound” food and snacks. It’s a nice brand that carries healthy snacks such as Yogurt Covered Raisins, Apple and Blueberry Clusters, Chocolate Covered Almonds and so much more. Bausch + Lomb TheraPearl® is no laughing matter.

Bausch + Lomb TheraPearl® Eyemask might look a bit funny when you are wearing it but, believe me, it is no laughing matter.  My daughter Adrienne (shown below) had been suffering from an “on again, off again” a headache for a few days, and she could not get rid of it. Finally one night it was so bad she asked for a cool facecloth to put over her eyes. That’s when I realized I had a Bausch + Lomb TheraPearl® Eye Mask in the freezer waiting to be used.

I used the mask as a cool pack on my eyes to calm the slight puffiness I had been experiencing due to allergy season. It worked very well for me. I found the mask to be very soothing and relaxing, and I used it often. When I no longer needed the mask, I put it in the freezer to have ready just in case I needed it again. Well, my daughter certainly did. It was a little cold for her at first, so she warmed the mask in her hands for a few seconds. She then placed the mask on her eyes and put her head back for a few minutes. After about 20 minutes, she told me her headache felt so much better. I was even upset with myself that I didn’t think to give her the mask sooner. As a matter of fact, the mask worked so well for her that she gave it to her friend’s mother that suffers from migraines. I’m off to buy another mask, just in case!

Bath Bombs, Soaks and Scrubs…Oh My!!

We all bath to clean our bodies. We also have different ways of cleansing. Maybe you enjoy soaking in the tub to destress from the events of the day?  Maybe you enjoy an invigorating shower. Whatever you choose there is a Bath Bomb, Salt Scrub or Salt Soak waiting for you. Better yet, Why don’t you make your own? I’ve recently tried making some of the Bath Bombs and salt soaks from Kate Bello’s DIY Book: Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs. Let me just say I am having fun with these recipes. I’ve made a few Bath Bombs and salt scrubs and have so much fun making them.Look at my bath bomb (below), it looks so cute and smells fantastic. I chose Lavender and vanilla oils, and I can’t wait to try it out.

This is a fun book with over 300 Natural Recipes that you make yourself for your luxurious bath or energizing shower. The ingredients for the recipes mainly consist of salts, Epsom, Himalayan and Dead Sea to name a few. All the ingredients including the essential oils can be found on the internet or at your local health food store.  You can mix and match the oils depending on your sense of smell. I love lavender, so I substituted an oil in the recipe for lavender essential oils, and it smells amazing. I haven’t experimented with color, but I will, you can count on it.

Homemade Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs provides detailed instructions on how to make each recipe. They are easy to understand, so there is no guesswork involved. Carrier Oils, essential oils, clays, and salts are all explained in detail for you. What I found amazing is that there is a recipe for practically every ailment that exists. Well, maybe not every ailment but enough choices that you will find a recipe that you will “Have to Make”.

There are recipes for Asthma relief, Athlete’s Foot, Respiratory relief, Fever-Reducing, Pain Relieving, Soothing and Skin Softening, to name a few. You must get this book to review all of the Bath Bombs, Scrubs and Salts it offers.  I am currently making a few gifts layering Himalayan salts (pink) and Sea salt (white) using small mason jars exactly like the sample shown on the cover of the book.  Tonight I am going to use one of the salt scrubs I made with Almond and sandalwood essential oil. I will let you know how it comes out!

Deborah Mitchell’s New Skincare Collection is HEAVEN

I am lucky to have gotten my hands on a few products from Deborah Mitchell’s New Skincare Line HEAVEN.  I especially like the New Edition Cleansing Cream.  “It is the first bee venom cleanser in the World”.  It is so gentle that I can wash my entire face, even my eyes without any stinging or irritation. The Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel is just as amazing. I especially like serums, and this is the perfect compliment to the cleanser that I am using morning and night time. Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel contains organic Peppermint and Spearmint oils which gives the Clarifying Hydrogel a delightful scent. I have been using the Hydrogel in the morning as a primer after cleansing and at night time after cleansing. The texture is light and quick drying but does not dry out your skin. My skin has been smooth and soft, never dry and oily. Especially since the weather here has been hot and humid, I need a primer/moisturizer to leave my skin dry but hydrated, and Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel does just that.
