Your perfect gift is waiting to be created with Metal Pressions

IMG_2065

It started out as a thought. Then it was a creation of my very own. Actually, I did have a little help from this amazing website, Metal Pressions. Owners Andreas and his wife Elisha (the inspiration behind Metal Pressions) established this unique business in 2008, offering fine personalized jewelry. Their jewelry is hand-crafted to your specifications so it is very unlikely you will find millions of people wearing your exact piece of jewelry. You probably won’t even find one person wearing it because your jewelry creation will be one of a kind, created by you.

At Metal Pressions, creating your piece of jewelry is easy and fun.

First, you will select your product, pendant, chain, necklace bracelet charms, ring, gems etc.

Next, you will choose your material such as silver, gold, rose-tone, it’s your choice. l then select text for personalization and stamping.

You will then select text for your personalization and add to your piece whatever else your heart desires.

My piece (shown above) was created with the help of Andreas and after he worked with me on the creative process, alas, my pendant was complete. I couldn’t have asked for a more charming sentimental piece honoring my 4 children. If you need a little help with your creative process, there are professional metal crafters on the site to help you and guide you through the steps.

Metal Pressions also gives you the opportunity to purchase merchandise already created and waiting for you on their website.  Men’s and Women’s jewelry, as well as exceptional Bridal gifts are among many exquisite handcrafted jewelry pieces available for purchase.

When my piece arrived, I was excited to show my creation to my husband. He liked it very much and was impressed with the piece knowing I didn’t drop into the nearest jewelry store and buy it on the spot. I told him I created it on Metal Pressions and he even added a few of his own ideas. Well, it’s too late to add to this piece but It’s not too late for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to create another piece.  It also got me thinking, what a great idea for my children to collaborate and create a piece for their grandmother and/or grandfather.

The personalized intricately crafted pieces can be worn by anyone and created by anyone. There are no limits to what you can create.

Andreas stated himself “We knew early on that creating amazing jewelry isn’t enough to be successful. Our customers want an incredible shopping experience. From the hand drawn images our customers sent us, we realized they wanted to be a part of the design process and know eactly what they were going to get before they purchased. The idea was born then, when we were just starting out in our garage. Now everyone can design their own jewelry.”

You can start designing your own jewelry by going to metalpressions.com and let your imagination take you away.

About Manolo Blahnik

With a career spanning over 40 years as an independent label, Manolo Blahnik has become one of the world’s most influential footwear designers. His shoes have spellbound an international set of adoring and loyal devotees across the globe. Born in the Canary Islands to a Spanish mother and a Czech father, he studied languages and art in Geneva before moving to Paris in 1965 where he decided to become a set designer. On a visit to New York in 1970, he showed his theater designs to Diana Vreeland, then editor-in-chief of American Vogue, who honed in on his shoes and encouraged him to concentrate on them. Blahnik learned the art of making shoes by visiting factories where he talked to machine operators, pattern cutters, and technicians. By 1971, he was in London making shoes. A year later, Ossie Clark, then the most famous designer in London, used his shoes and from there his career blossomed. In 1973 he opened his first shop in London’s Chelsea. Blahnik is a craftsman. The exquisitely shaped lasts and heels he creates for his shoes are still perfected with his very own hands. The lines and silhouette of his distinctive handwriting, however, remain instantly recognizable as unique, inimitable exercises in precision and balance, exquisite workmanship and luxury. “Shoes,” he says, “help transform a woman.” From the flagship store in London, the label has expanded worldwide. He has also received many international awards throughout his career including an Honorary CBE in November 2007.

un – VEIL your glowing skin with Sunset Light

Unknown

I love skincare products that perform more than one duty. Veil Cosmetics Sunset Light, created by celebrity makeup artist Sebastien Tardif, is one of those products. I took Veil Sunset Light, (Primer, Serum and Mixing Base all in one) with me on vacation and it was a hit with my two daughters and me. We each liked a particular element of this unique formula.

My oldest daughter used Sunset Veil as a “Serum”. She doesn’t wear much makeup and has oily skin. She liked the light weight formula that is water-based. It made her skin feel great, like she applied a sheer cover over her skin making it look radiant. There was no oily skin to deal with after using Sunset Light.

My second daughter, a serious make-up wearer wanted Sunset Light for its “Primer” feature. She loved how it felt after she applied it and her make-up stayed on all day. This is a great feature because I had the camera out constantly taking photos of the girls and their skin looked great throughout the day.

I, on the other hand, loved the “Mixing Base” aspect of Sunset Light. I combined it with my foundation and applied it to my face and had great results. My foundation spread evenly and looked flawless. You can also add Sunset Light to your concealer and creams assuring you an even spread of your product with great hydration. Sunset Light also states that this serum has light-reflective optics giving the appearance of healthy, glowing skin.

Sunset Veil contains a unique blend of extracts and peptides which result in Brighter, Plump, and smooth skin. Sunset Light also has anti-aging properties which my older daughter especially likes.

You can find this fabulous 3 in 1 formula at  veilcosmetics.com

Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Treatment is a 3-in-1 cream as it moisturizes, exfoliates and offers some amazing anti-aging properties. Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Treatment’s active ingredients include Avocado, olive Oil, Evening Primrose Oils and Shea butter. Everything you need to improve your skin’s texture, tone, firmess and fine lines and wrinkles is found in this one jar.  Apply the cream each evening to your face, neck and Decollete using circular motions and Miracle Skin Transformer Triple Active Night Treatment will do the rest. Don’t have time for a hair appointment? Relax and Touchback

unnamed-2

For some reason, whenever I make a hair coloring appointment (months in advance), something always happens that it needs to be postponed. OK, one week I can handle, maybe two weeks but my grays won’t wait. Thanks to TouchBack Instant Temporary Color, I can relax. TouchBack has a line of temporary hair colors that really get the job done. I have used TouchBack Plus Non Stop Color System and Touchback Markers in the past and got the same fantastic results using TouchBack Instant Temporary Color Depositing Shampoo and Depositing Conditioner. I found TouchBack at CVS, the Shampoo and Conditioner are reasonably priced at $19.95 for the set.

This TouchBack System is easy to use, simply apply the shampoo, Leave on for a few minutes and rinse off. Next, apply the conditioner, leave on a few minutes and rinse off. You will notice absolutely no smells and is formulated without using harsh chemicals like ammonia, sulfates or peroxide. TouchBack Instant Temporary Color gives your gray a boost of color, just enough for the grays to fade away. You will notice your hair shiny and soft. The color will last through 3 shampoos which for me, will be enough time to get my permanent color done.  You can use TouchBack on chemically treated or natural hair. You won’t be disappointed with TouchBack, you will be able to relax once your grays have faded away, at least temporarily.

Create the “Un-Wave”

January, 2016 (New York, NY) – The un-wave is the new wave in town, it may look like it just organically appeared, but it takes a little bit of effort to look so effortless. Ruth Roche, Artistic Ambassador for Pureology Serious Colour Care, says it’s so easy anyone can do it and proves it by showing Courtney Bright from darlingtwo.com how to create the look with (GASP) hot rollers. That’s right, break ‘em out! DIY Video:

unnamed-2

“The un-wave is not a beachy wave nor is it straight, but it’s the texture of the moment and is the added touch any style needs to be current,” says Roche.

The Un-Wave
· Hold Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist 12” from hair, spray entire head and then blow dry in for texture.
· Starting at the top front of the head, create section with fingers, spray section with Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist again, comb out with fingers and wrap the roller around section so it’s tight to the head and the ends are left out and pin roller to secure. Do the entire top of head.
· For the sides, create section with fingers, spray with Pureology Sea-Kissed Texturizer Salt-Free Tousle Mist again and roll one of the larger rollers up in the hair and just hold for 10 seconds. Then, unroll the hair and scrunch it so the while it cools more texture is being created.
· Once the sides are finished, take out all the top rollers and starting at the ends, use fingers to break up the wave, roughing up the texture at the same time.
