Add some WINTER to your day

Just in time for the holidays, a fragrance that will make you smell and feel just like your walking in a winter wonderland. Daesein’s WINTER fragrance is a sensual blend of blue spruce, forest pine, black cardamom and French lavender. It is free of toxins, vegan, cruelty-free, and fee of parabens. Even for us sensitive skinned people we can enjoy the satisfying aroma with no harsh chemicals. Now you can really give the gift of Christmas when you give them WINTER.

WINTER is a fragrance that when I sprayed it on, I said “that’s me”. It reminded me of Winter’s in Ohio. Snow on the ground, deer running through the yard and the smell of a freshly cut pine tree in my living room. Now that I live in Florida I still like to remember Christmas in Ohio (minus the cold) and WINTER does just that. WINTER lasted me from morning to night with touchups in between. I find that to be the worst when it comes to fragrance when you have to reapply. Even my mom, who is the toughest critic when it comes to anything with a smell. She likes that WINTER is not strong, is very sensual and smells just like walking outside.

Now I’m just speaking from a woman’s point of view but WINTER is not only great for women but men as well. After launching in 2013, WINTER has flown off the shelves in stores such as American Rag, Larchmont Beauty and many more! So if your in need of a great stocking stuffer or Christmas gift exchange check out WINTER Unisex Fragrance at www.daseinfragrance.com and also check them out for fragrances that will bring every season to life by simply spraying a bottle. Launching in 2015!

Makeup Show Recap

If there is one place I love better than Studio 10, its getting to cover the Makeup Show Orlando. Held in the ballroom at the Hyatt Regency, The Makeup Show Orlando offers everything from education, and info on the latest and greatest makeup/skincare products on the market. Definitely a show for the beauty “hoarder” and makeup fanatic (which is me lol)and for those who want to enhance their makeup skills thanks to the awesome classes and education while there.

Cosmix

Cosmix

While I was at the show I ran into some familiar faces such as well known makeup artists Tia Dantzler, James Vincent and Vivian Infantino. Not only that but I met many new people as well and discovered some new and fascinating products such as The Beauty Butler, Tanique, Facial Smoothies, Shea Moisture, Tat2U Cosmetics, Cara Cosmetics and so many more but there will definitely be a blog on each and every one. Also, as a member of the press I was gifted a press bag full of many more samples that I cannot wait to try out.

Cara Cosmetics

Not only was it the makeup that fascinated me it was the work I saw by some amazing artists. Every year the Cosmix Makeup School’s booth showcases the work of some incredible artists that are literally out of this world and even The Makeup Show holds contests on what is called fantasy makeup. I saw everything from underwater theme, to outer space. Unfortunately I could not take many pictures due to the battery on my phone dying :(.

I am anxious and excited to get started on blogging/vlogging about the awesome products I received to try. Stay tuned for more!!!

Eliminate Acne & Reduce Cellulite With This Quick DIY Exfoliator

After running out of my favorite exfoliator I became desperate to find one that worked just as well. Of course when I went to the store they were out of my favorite so I did the next best thing, made my own out of ingredients found in my cabinet. In my video I share how to make a great anti-aging coffee ground (caffeine helps eliminate cellulite and maintains elasticity in your skin) exfoliator that I have also found to help clear my acne. With other ingredients such as honey (natural antibacterial method), salt ( releases toxins from body) and olive oil (adds moisture, eliminates appearance of fine lines and wrinkles) this great exfoliator will make you feel refreshed and invigorated after every use.

Lately it has been a little chilly here in Florida and I started noticing my skin and my lips were starting to get immensely chapped. I had the pleasure of getting to enjoy Good Earth Beauty for myself by trying their Chocolate Lip Scrub and Lavender Body Balm. Both smell and feel absolutely amazing and the lip scrub is good enough to eat, literally. One night after my shower I rubbed some of the body balm on my heels, elbows and used the scrub on my lips. In just 5 minutes I noticed a big difference on my lips and my skin. That’s all it took, just 5 minutes and I have been hooked ever since. Now every time I get out of the shower, instead of grabbing for my lotion, I grab my body balm.

Now you may be asking yourself, “what is body balm”? Well just like it says it is a balm but instead of it being for your lips its for your body. The same consistency and feel as lip balm, Good Earth Beauty body balm calms chapped skin, while the chocolate lip scrub adds incredible moisture, and smoothness.
So have great skin this holiday season with Good Earth Beauty. Makes an excellent gift for the one you just don’t know what give. Check out www.goodearthbeauty.com for more great products.

Lace It Up With Lace Your Face

I have always loved a great facial but lately I have not had time to get to the spa to enjoy one. But thanks to Lace Your Face by Dermovia I can now enjoy an at home facial in just 15 minutes. Lace Your Face is exactly what it says it is. It is a piece of lace that has been shaped to fit your face along with ears and a chin strap to help not only contour but also to help keep the mask in place. Like they say “Its like shape wear for your face”. (check out my YouTube video below on how to use the product)

Lace Your Face

Lace Your Face

The Lace Your Face I got to try was their newest one called Calming Chamomile. With my sensitive skin, chamomile is one of my favorites because not only is it gentle but extremely relaxing. Especially after being on the road for 3 days you just need that little relaxing moment where you can say “ahhhhh”. Another great advantage to Lace Your Face is you do not need to wash it off or even put on your nightly moisturizer. Once the lace has been removed, gently rub the remaining product into your skin and let it do the rest.

My chamomile face mask’s main ingredients are:
chamomile extract- soothes
Tahitian seawater extract- balances
apple stem cell- repairs
squalene- anti-stress
dew grass extract- anti-irritant

Lace Your Face comes in 8 different kinds. One for pretty much each skin type. So if your ready to experience Lace Your Face for yourself check out www.dermovia.com and start lacing it up! Also see my YouTube video below for more info on how to use your Lace Your Face facial mask.

“Do This Not That” On Studio 10

Today On Studio 10 I share some makeup tips and tricks to help avoid some common beauty blunders.

Me on Studio 10

Me on Studio 10

Watch the segment here: http://bcove.me/cf4an222

1. Eyeliner- It is best to use cream eyeliners that come in pots rather than a pencil. Cream eyeliners do not tug on the skin. When applying the eyeliner avoid wearing it on the lower lash line which can cause the “saggy” look. Apply to upper lash line in a 45 degree angle on the outer corner. Also use beige or off white eyeliner in the lower rims to reduce the appearance of eye redness.

2. Eye shadow- Avoid using browns and blacks. Use gold, mauves and even blue greys to add a more open and “lifting” effect to your eyes.

3. Our hands tell our age and of course, many women want to keep that a secret! Most women think that as our hands age we must use a soft, neutral nail color like beige, sheer, & light pink. The truth is that we should actually use a bright bold color to distract the eye from the hand and instead to the nails. Make sure your color is opaque and vibrant such as fuchsia, hot pink, orange and even blues.

4. Lipstick- Lipstick ties the overall makeup look together. As we age our lips tend to get thinner, get wrinkles and lines start to develop. When picking out your lipstick shade keep in mind that light colors make lips look bigger while dark colors tend to make lips look smaller. But you still can wear bright bold colors. In this case tone down eye makeup when going with a bold lip. Stay glossy rather than matte and be sure to use lip liner. To make lips look bigger draw on the outer line of your lip to give a full pout.

5. Last but not least – Our hair can also show many signs of aging. Next time you go to color your hair consider going darker. When using a lightener, it can cause the hair strands to look thinner therefore making hair seem like it is thinning. Darker colors add the look of density and fullness. Talk to your stylist about the options.

Love Your Fragrance With Onika by Nicki Minaj

If you love soft, delightful fragrances you will love Nicki Minaj’s new fragrance Onika. I have always loved any fragrance that is not overpowering but has enough scent to last all day. Onika is just that. With notes of Pear, star fruit, mandarin, water lily, orchid, osmanthus, sugar cane, white musk, and cedar wood, Onika is like walking through a garden. The first little spritz really opens your senses and goes a long way.

Named after herself, Nicki Minaj (born with the name Onika) released her new fragrance in July. Just like she was with her other fragrances, she was involved with the overall production right down to the design and promoting of the product. When I hear that about an artist it really shows us, the consumer, they really believe in what they do and sell. If you have loved Nicki’s other fragrances you will love this WAY more! I honestly think it is her best fragrance so far. It lasts all day and is great for women of all ages.

Now onto the packaging. Unlike any other fragrance bottle I have ever seen, Nicki Minaj really thinks outside the box when designing her bottles. Onika’s bottle main color scheme is black with a little gold accent. It is a bust of Nicki herself donning a black wig, black halter top and a gold plated face. It is definitely an eye catcher.

So if you are in need of finding your right fragrance and are unsure of where to start, look no further. Stop by your local fragrance counter and ask to sample Onika by Nicki Minaj. I have a strong feeling you will be walking out of the store with your very own bottle. You can find Onika at your local Macys, Belk, Dillard’s or any other fragrance store!

Cut Your Blow Drying Time In Half With The Blo & Go

About 2 years ago while working behind the chair I noticed that my right wrist was feeling extremely weak and in a lot of pain every time I either picked up my shears or my blow dryer. As a professional stylist, my blow dryer tends to be a little heavier than an everyday blow dryer that can be found in your local supermarket. At home I use my lighter weight blow dryer but even that one enflames my wrist. I also do not enjoy doing my own hair. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago a good friend of mine introduced me to a product that made me happy to style my hair again. It is called the Blo & Go! A great product that helps those who are injured or may have arthritis have the freedom and ability to style their own hair again! Check out my how to video below on YouTube and check out www.bloandgo.com for more details and how you can get your very own!
