Beyond the world of the seen, lies the unseen. The Ripples provides a gripping fictional account of one family’s experience of suicide and the damaging, relentless ripples that radiate out in every direction, not only on a family in crisis but on a whole community and beyond, while also exploring the possibility of an omnipresent love that connects us all. Author Danielle Aitken describes The Ripples as illustrating “the importance of teaching our children that it’s ok to not be ok all of the time, as it promotes the idea that it is not only okay to speak about our struggles, it’s essential. We must lose the stigma around mental health issues in order to save lives.” This book is meant to create more conversations about mental health awareness and to validate those who have experienced this type of devastating loss. We are thrilled to include her healing light of hope with The Ripples in our 2021 “Covid-style” Hollywood Swag Bags honoring the nominees honoring Oscar weekend.
