DR. MARK PIZZINI CREATES SCENTCLIP TO ENHANCE MASK-WEARING EXPERIENCE

NEW DEVICE CLIPS TO ALL MASKS WITH PERSONAL AROMATHERAPY FROM ESSENTIAL OILS

“Wearing a mask shouldn’t stink!” That is why Dr. Mark Pizzini, an anesthesiologist and head of Perio-Operative services at Penn’s Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, is introducing ScentClip, a device he created featuring personal aromatherapy to enhance the mask-wearing experience. ScentClip can be affixed to any mask, making it a game-changer, and a much more pleasant-smelling experience.

CDC recommends that people wear masks in all public settings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Originally created for medical professionals and recovering patients, ScentClip by Aroxel is the first personal aromatherapy scent clip that can be worn with nearly any mask and will last for three weeks. ScentClip’s fragrance comes from essential oils, and the formulas are hypoallergenic, as well as non-toxic.

ScentClip is changing the mask-wearing experience and available now at Amazon and  https://www.scentclip.com for those wearing masks professionally – healthcare workers, front-line workers, first responders, restaurant employees, beauty shops, and more, and personally.

Dr. Pizzini hopes that ScentClips help both adults and children keep calm and keep that mask on.

“I have witnessed many situations where an aromatherapy device like ScentClip could be used, not just for medical staff, but also for my patients and any mask wearer,” said Dr. Pizzini. “I never imagined that when we were finally ready to launch, we would be in the middle of a pandemic and masks would be the new normal.”

ScentClip uses the natural benefits of aromatherapy to promote healthy living and make wearing a mask a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The product was designed with sustainability in mind so it is made with recyclable plastic.

Dr. Pizzini developed ScentClip after noticing members of his surgical team at Fox Chase Cancer Center, also in Philadelphia, PA, concealed bad smells by smearing anesthetic mint into their masks. When the team members couldn’t feel their lips afterward, Dr. Pizzini had to create a solution.

He immediately designed and created ScentClip, a clip-onto-a-mask scent to help the operating staff, and other mask wearers, cover up bad smells while simultaneously benefitting from aromatherapy. He knew he was onto something after seeing recovery room nurses also using essential oils as aromatherapy to soothe nauseous and anxious patients.

Norman Feinstein, a former neighbor of Dr. Pizzini, serves as Chief Operating Officer. His late wife, Harriet, enjoyed scented projects Dr. Pizzini was using when she first became ill.

Dr. Mark-Alan Pizzini Bio:

Dr. Mark-Alan Pizzini was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, the son of mushroom farmers. He attended Penn State University School of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. During his medical residency, Dr. Pizzini joined the United States Air Force, completing a dream he had always had to serve in the military and support his country. His first job after residency was at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, then Philadelphia VA Medical Center as Chief of Anesthesia. He is currently a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care.

Dr. Pizzini spent five years developing how best he could deliver aromatherapy in a responsible, safe, and cost-effective way. The design took many modifications, changes, and adaptations. His team ended up creating several prototypes before hitting the perfect mix of ease of use and functionality. Dr. Pizzini has three utility patents for medical and aromatherapy devices. ScentClip is manufactured in Fort Myers, FL.

How does ScentClip work for a fit mask?

If you are using a Fit tested N95 or KN95 in healthcare or high-risk setting, we recommend placing the sealed ScentClip in the mask and re-Fit testing for mask seal. If the mask is not Fit tested, the clip should be fine as it has a minimal effect on the mask perimeter. We hope this information is helpful, and you can enjoy the wonderful aromas of ScentClip.

How are ScentClip sanitized?

The external plastic can easily be wiped down using a disinfectant and small towel, making sure to avoid the internal scent well. While they last for weeks, we do not recommend sharing the clips. They are, however, easily moved from mask to mask for individuals to enjoy in whichever mask they choose to wear!

What scents are available?

We currently have available periwinkle lavender and apple orchard. With your support via Kickstarter, we hope to expand the variety of ScentClip fragrances.

What are the scents made of?

ScentClip’s fragrance comes from essential oil mixtures, so they’re naturally non-toxic. Each formula is a proprietary blend that we carefully source for safety and purity.

Periwinkle Lavender

Lavender oil, derived from the lavender plant, is best known for its ability to foster calmness and reduce stress and anxiety. Studies have also shown that inhaling lavender oil can help treat nausea and fighting insomnia, motion sickness, and headaches. Along with its therapeutic benefits, the lavender essential oil also contains antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Apple Orchard

Eucalyptus oil is made from eucalyptus trees’ oval-shaped leaves. It is a natural remedy for respiratory issues and is commonly used in treatment against colds. Eucalyptus oil helps to stimulate an immune response and works as a cough suppressant and natural decongestant.

Lemon oil, which contains powerful anti-microbial properties, is a historic natural remedy. This is due to its mood-enhancing properties, which boost energy, concentration, and metabolism. Additionally, the crisp, clean scent is a natural air purifier and treatment against nausea.
