Set Your Face
- Skin Prep: Before you apply foundation, don’t forget to treat your skin with a light weight oil or primer. By moisturizing your skin, your makeup will flake less and stay on longer!
- Foundation Time: Apply a breathable foundation like, Too Faced Born This Way with a beauty sponge. Gently tap in the foundation all over for optimal blending.
- Conceal Imperfections: Brighten up your under-eye area with a full coverage concealer like, Tarte Shape Tape. It blurs to perfection, removing those “divots” seamlessly. When applying, I like to use a small brush so you can target the area without overdoing it. This will ensure that you’re using the correct amount without causing cakey-ness.
- Set It: Before moving on to color, set your foundation and concealer. I use the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder because it has a peachy undertone that helps to cancel out discoloration.
Look Nighttime/Dramatic Look
- Prime Your Peepers: Find a light weight primer that will keep your shadows in place. I use the Makeup Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer because it’s sheer and doesn’t feel heavy as you build on it. Dab it on with your ring finger until it’s fully absorbed.
- Apply Your Base Shadow: For a multi-dimensional look, use the “Bronzed” eyeshadow in the new Deck of Scarlet #07 Edition Palette. The hues have a beautiful copper undertone which will add a slight shimmer. Apply the shadow to you lids with a medium blender brush, then, take a smaller brush, like a small domed shader brush, and use it to define your crease and soften out the edges.
- Lash Love: For a dramatic evening look, first apply a layer of mascara to your top lashes, then pop on some fluffy lashes for added volume and length. I love Lilly Lashes in Mikonos. To apply, simply add a little glue on to the band and place them atop your lash line.
- Color Vibes for the Eyes: Enhance your inner eyes with a bright, bold color. Using a small round brush, tap on the Deck of Scarlet turquoise color in, “Bora Bora” and apply it to the inner corner of your eyes. This adds a delicate, yet impactful, touch of color while also making them look brighter and more awake.
- Bottoms Up: Define your eyes by lightly lining your bottom lash line with the “Bronzed” shadow. You can use an angled shadow brush or a medium round brush to line the bottom and smoke it out. Then, using your brush, connect the bottom to the top to fill in that empty space at the outer corners of your eyes.
- Line Em Up: Finish off your eyes with the “Goddess” waterproof eyeliner and apply it to your water line for a kiss of shimmer.
- Get Cheeky: Using a blush brush, swirl on some of the Deck of Scarlet, “LoveSick” blush and blend backwards starting at the apples of your cheeks.
- Highlighter Life: Highlighter really amps up a natural daytime look. “Roxstar” is one of my favorite highlighters and it pairs perfectly with “LoveSick.” I tend to be a little extra, so I use a nice fluffy brush, like a flat top foundation brush, and apply a little on my forehead, chin, and cheekbones
- Pucker Up: For a nice full lip, use the Deck of Scarlet “Foxy” lip liner to outline around your pout. The formula is super creamy and prevents feathering and bleeding. Then, apply, “Sweat Away” for a deep, versatile look.
