Jeannie Mai, style expert, and co-host of the daytime talk show, “The Real” is currently participating in the new Reimagine MySelf program in conjunction with SELF® and Biogen to help support, and enlighten women who deal with RMS. (Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis)
2.3 million people worldwide suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This disease that attacks the central nervous system is more apt to strike two to three times as many women as men. RMS is the most common type of MS diagnosed in patients, and it accounts for about 85% of those living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Mary Murcko, the publisher of SELF, noted,” SELF is thrilled to partner with Biogen to launch the Reimagine MySelf destination on SELF.com. This first- of- its- kind program on SELF.com taps SELF’s empowering voice in women’s Health and wellness, and leverages our Made Blogger Collective along with RMS experts to create a destination that women living with RMS can turn to for advice.”
Jeannie is one of the bloggers who is sharing her expertise in the Reimagine MySelf program. When we started our conversation, Jeannie first shared the story about her Aunt Linh, who had been diagnosed with RMS.
Jeannie spoke about how the diagnosis had affected her and the uncertainty about her future. With RMS Aunt Linh had to deal symptoms that would come and go at any time, and how it affected her daily activities including her beauty routine and what type of clothes she would be able to wear. It’s so easy to get into that rut and let yourself go, but with small easy steps you can do little changes and deal with things every day!
Jeannie put her philosophy of “wearapy“ to use with Aunt Linh. Jeannie’s wearapy describes how you can manipulate your mood from the outside in through style. In fact, color and emotion can often be intertwined.
Jeannie’s “wearapy” is a terrific goal to strive for whether you deal with RMS or not. This article will give you that must needed boost that we all desire at one time or another. It will let you put to use Jeannie’s easy tips and do little changes each day!

In closing, Dr. Ann Cabot, Board certified Neurologist from Concord Hospital, in Concord, NH. said, “In addition to the helpful tips offered by Jeannie, working with your doctor to create a holistic disease management plan – which may include working with multiple healthcare professionals, like physical therapists, and nutritionists for example, to help modify nutrition and fitness regimens – is crucial. There are several prescriptions available – like Tecfidera™(dimethyl fumarate) an oral treatment for relapsing MS with proven efficacy and an established safety profile.”
