Relaxation and Craziness!!!!

Hello everyone!!!
I’m currently on the Celebrity Reflection cruise ship sailing through the caribbean with my whole family. Our first stop was Old San Juan. It was really amazing to see Puerto Rico because my mom was born with a Puerto Rican mother. Our second stop was St. Thomas which was absolutely beautiful and we zip-lined through the jungle. The ocean water was so clear and turquoise that you could see the bottom of the ocean floor.

Today we went snorkeling in St. Martin and it was so unbelievable to be swimming in the ocean with so many fish around you.

It’s been so crazy but fun spending every second of the day with my three beautiful sisters and parents of course.

The beach is my favorite place in the world– all of you must get to a Caribbean beach, so put it on your bucket list!

One thing I’ve learned on this trip is to sing in the morning before getting out of bed. My sister Lindsay and I are sharing a room and we bug our sisters in the connecting room next door when we sing songs from Wicked in the morning before breakfast. Try it, it wakes you up! HA

What is Pantone?

Marsala… it has been named Pantone’s color of the year for 2015. This beautiful “earthy red wine” inspired color has made it’s way into many industries including beauty, fashion, paint and more! While Marsala has made it’s way into the world, I couldn’t help but wonder more about what Pantone is all about. After some research this is what I found out.

Pantone started as a commercial printing company in the 1950s best known for what is called their Pantone Matching System (PMS). It was not until 1956 when Lawrence Herbert (was hired as a part-time employee), creator of Pantone, used his knowledge in chemistry to help systamize and simplify the companies colored inks. It was then in 1962 when Herbert started running it as a profit and bought the companies assests renaming them Pantone. Pantone Matching System allows designers to perfectly color match specific colors to a T. It keeps colors separate to avoid direct contact with another. In 2007 Pantone introduced their GOE system which consists of over 2,000 colors in a new matching and numbering system.

As we all know anually Pantone produces the “Color of the Year”. 2 times a year the company will hold meetings to decalre the new color for the following year. We see them in makeup, paints, clothes etc. Our color Marsala will fill the stores before we know it. ( I will be doing a blog and video about it soon). First college quarter of Freshman year complete…WHAT

Hello friends,

So sorry I haven’t blogged in a minute, I just had my first week of college finals. I’m pretty sure I spent seven hours a day on the fourth floor of my school’s library for the past week. My first set of finals as a college freshman is now complete. WOW—I honestly can’t believe it and I also can’t believe how much coffee I consumed. Now that they are over, I am officially done with my first quarter of college! That is scary…and I know everyone in the universe says this but WHERE has the time gone? I am still in shock every time someone asks me about myself and I say: “Well I am in college…” It’s weird.

I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better first quarter of college. The insanely caring group of friends I made, the beautiful sunsets I got to watch on the sand, riding my fixie to class, eating Blaze pizza, doing phone interviews in my dorm room, I wouldn’t trade a second of it for anything in the world. College is such an incredible time. I am surrounded by people who are eager to make the most of every day, it fuels me.

Now that I’m officially done and on winter break, I get time to focus on writing new songs and reading new scripts—two of my favorite things. I am leaving for a ten-day cruise to the Caribbean with my whole family today and I will definitely be taking lots of photos to share with all of you.

Remember to find the silly moments of everyday, eat lots of chocolate, drink lots of green tea (it’s good for your skin and a better source of caffeine than coffee) and stop and take a look at all that surrounds you. Before you know it, everything flashes by. Enjoy the day.
