How to Look Slim In Indian Outfits?

Generally, every woman will desire to flaunt a slimmer figure. As everyone is not naturally blessed with a slim body, you are required to take some efforts for looking slim. You may hit the gym or maintain a proper diet, but sometimes all your efforts may go to vain. But, you should not worry! Here are some simple tricks that will make you appear slimmer in the Indian outfits.

Look Glamorous In Sarees: You must be careful of the drape and the fabric while flaunting your saree. Try to avoid heavy fabrics like cotton, silk, organza etc. which can add more volume in your body. For creating an illusion of a slimmer body, you can go for georgette, crepe, chiffon etc. If you possess some extra flab around your stomach and waist, you should not go on tucking a large number of pleats at your navel. Try to spread and adjust them all along the waist so that the fabric volume will not focus at a single place.

Careful with Blouses: After you have gathered some knowledge about what sarees will suit you best, you must take care of the blouses. To hide a heavy bust area, you can go for printed blouse instead of embellished or embroidered ones. The lightweight logic can be applied here as well. If you possess heavy arms, try to avoid sleeveless blouses and go for quarter sleeved blouses. When you plan for a lehenga choli, try to keep all the same factors in mind. Make sure that the choli is long enough for covering your waist.

Play with Salwar: Try playing with your bottom wear. Here the fitting logic is slightly different. You should go for slim fit bottoms instead of the loose ones. The long anarkali salwar kameez will surely look glamorous if you choose the bottom properly. You can really create a magic by choosing narrow Salwar and it will surely make your waist appear smaller than your actual one. Sometimes, it may provide a look of a stylish trouser and can even be flaunted with a shirt. But you should be careful about the fabric when you are opting for churidaar. It should never be a body hugging fabric. Instead you can go for the fabric that never stretches. Cigarette pants can also be one of the trendy alternatives for you. These are simply loose trousers which are made up of lightweight fabric. You can flaunt those pants with long kurtas and look stylish and elegant.

Have Fun With Kurtas: You should avoid the body hugging kurtas as they will put more emphasis on your heavy body. You can go for a bit loose ones. Be sure that the material of the loose kurtas is not very clingy in nature. The best option of the fabric can be the cotton ones. When your thighs and hips are heavy, make sure that the long kurtas are hiding those parts of your body as well. You should always flaunt slightly loose kurtas instead of very loose ones.

Color and Accessories: Ensure that you are choosing the right color and the accessories for a slimmer look with Indian outfits. Even if you are not actually slim, the dark colors create illusion and can easily hide your problem areas. Among the accessories, sleek bangles and bracelet watches will make you look slimmer. Try to avoid heavy neckpieces and flaunt your earrings with style!

When you are looking glamorous with Indian outfit, add the right footwear and style your hair properly to complete the look. If you want a slim effect, let your hair be loose instead of tying them up.

The Magic of Silk is found in Silkriller

Silk + Briller (Shine) = Silkriller. That’s how the name Silkriller was born. To appreciate this luxurious skincare line, you must understand the importance of Silk. Silk has been associated with beauty for thousands of years. According to ancient history, silk was so important that it was worn by royalty, used as currency and sought for medicinal purposes.

Scientists have discovered that Silk extracts protect the skin’s natural moisture, and Silkriller has formulated a skincare line densely infused with silk fibroins. A patented technology extracts the Silk in the silk protein and is formulated into their skincare giving your skin a beautiful shine and silky soft skin.

Silk has amazing properties. The extracted Silk is rich in protein and contains the same amino acids as the human body. Silk extracts are easily absorbed in the skin allowing antioxidants and amino acids to repair skin cells while improving skins elasticity. Also, If you cleanse your face with soap, you already know that soap has a drying effect on your skin. Silkriller is formulated without surfactants (soap). As you can see,  Silk is an extremely beneficial extract to have in skincare.

The Silk found in Silkriller is spun from 100% locally produced and manufactured Japanese silk. The Silk is made in the mountains of Osaka, Japan, and their products are produced without harmful urban pollutions in the air and soil.

I have had the opportunity to try Silkriller’s Revitalization Silver Set. The set includes a Facial Foam, Lotion (Beauty Tonic) a Moisture Cream and 3D Silver Gel. All of the products can also be purchased separately.

The facial foam is a gentle cleanser and does a wonderful job washing away make-up and other impurities. I also noticed that my skin was soft right after cleansing. Silkriller Facial Foam is infused with natural honey, grapefruit and silk fibroin.

Silkriller Lotion/ Revitalizing Beauty Tonic is a toner. It’is very refreshing when applied right after cleansing. The lotion is especially recommended for those with sensitive and dry skin.  My face usually gets a little red after cleansing and I noticed that the lotion calmed by face and reduced the redness quite a bit.

One of my favorites in this line is the 3D Silver Pure Rich Gel. It only takes a drop of this gel to cover your entire face.  3D Silver Pure Rich Gel has unique anti-aging properties and will firm skin and removes wrinkles by keeping cells hydrated and energized. You might notice firming skin as soon as the next day.

Top off your skin care regime with Silkriller Moisture Cream. This moisturiser really does feel like silk.  The Moisture Cream also increases skin cell regeneration and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. If you use this skincare consistently, you will notice your skin looking younger, brighter, and healthier.

I want to note that each skincare item is packaged with a detailed instruction sheet with a visual on how to apply the skincare item so you can achieve optimal results.

To be part of the silk skincare experience, you must be part of Silkriller Skincare.  Visit them at and begin your quest for the silkiest skin.

BELLY BLOATING BUSTERS: Avoiding Foods That Make You Look & Feel Fat for Every Life Occasion

Dr. Christopher Calapai, D.O.

When we want to look our best for a special occasion we typically think, hair, make-up, a great outfit and some killer shoes. What we forget to add to the mix is being mindful of food intake. Eating the wrong foods before an event can sabotage your beauty plan. Certain foods can give your gut an instant bloat that looks and feels awful. Luckily there are belly bloating busters offered Dr. Christopher Calapai, D.O.; Osteopathic Physician board certified in family medicine and anti-aging medicine.

For a girl’s night out: Don’t be afraid to have a large meal beforehand. If you are planning for an active night, whether dancing, bowling or party hopping, you will need the fuel and protein is key.

Dr. Calapai has created the perfect meal for a pre girls night out:
– 1 grilled chicken breast (approx 4 oz)
– 1/2 cup cooked brown rice and lentils
– 1 cup steamed string beans
This combo will fill you up without weighing you down, and will give you the energy you need to dance the night away!

For a dinner- date: Don’t “just have a salad.” All the vegetables in the salad will actually cause your stomach to bloat more.

Dr. Calapai suggests ordering fish with one side of grilled vegetables. “Wild Salmon is jam-packed with heart healthy vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids. If Salmon is not an option, mackerel, sea bass and lemon sole are all good options as well. As for the veggies, try to steer clear of cauliflower or broccoli which may cause bloating. Opt for grilled zucchini, asparagus, or carrots which will keep your tummy tamed!”

For a day at the beach: If you’re going to the beach you need a healthy, energizing meal to get you through the morning but you don’t want it to show in your stomach. You’re probably thinking that the easiest thing to eat before you head out is some Special K with skim milk. It’s low in calories after all, right? It doesn’t matter how low-cal it is, the dairy and multi-grains will expand in your intestines, causing your gut to stick out.

Instead of cereal, Dr. Calapai has a belly bloat busting recipe for oatmeal pancakes. Take 1/2 cup raw oats, 3 egg whites, 1/2 apple, and a dash of cinnamon and throw in a blender to create the pancake mix. This high fiber non-fat breakfast choice offers whole grain fiber plus additional fiber from the apple, and protein from the egg whites. It’s a great filling way to start the day, and will not create any abdominal gas or bloating, so you can go bikini-bare with ease!

For an afternoon luncheon: Eating a well-balanced lunch is essential for boosting energy and productivity; giving you power over that mid-day slump and keeping your metabolism active. Oftentimes people want to skip lunch in hopes of losing weight and grab an energy drink to keep them going. This is so bad! The carbonation from an energy drink will make you more bloated then a light lunch. Dr. Calapai says, “For a mid-day luncheon, your best bet is a salad chock-full of fresh vegetables and greens, topped with a piece of grilled fish, low-fat tuna salad, or fresh turkey breast slices. Throw a few walnuts or almonds on top and dress with a low fat/low sugar dressing, to finish off your delicious salad creation!”

For traveling days: These days airports are getting bigger and so are the food courts. It’s tempting to give in to the convenience of fast travel food, but the combination of a high-sodium smorgasbord and air travel equals a very bloated body from head to toe. There are better options. Eat before you leave for the airport. Dr. Calapai suggests packing your carry-on with fruits, vegetables, and granola bars. These bloat busting options are usually available at airport kiosks. Also, avoid the beverage service on board. Stick to water, you will have a happier flight and feel revived upon arriving at your destination!
