A perfect Eyebrow Grooming Set from Earth Therapeutics

I was recently browsing through my local KOHL’s Store, and an item caught my eye.  The Earth Therapeutics 4-pc. Eyebrow Grooming Gift Set looked interesting. If the grooming set works, it will be a great stocking stuffer for everyone in my family, boys and girls. I thought I would try a set out for myself. I will tell you now, the utensils in this set are sharp so please use them carefully and they do work. Earth Therapeutics 4-pc. Eyebrow Grooming Set consists of a shaver, professional grade tweezers, eyebrow scissors & and an eyebrow brush. They are all contained in a plastic zip pouch perfect for home use or your make-up bag for traveling.

We are all pretty familiar with a tweezer, shaver and eyebrow brush but what I especially liked was the eyebrow scissors. The eyebrow scissors can be used for brow trimming and cutting shears. The brow hairs can be combed upward and then trimmed with an opposing scissor edge. I like this better than putting pointy scissors to my brows. The comb on this tool is detachable and slides off to expose scissors. I tried this tool on my husband, and it worked quite well.  The tweezers work well too, they are very precise and grasped every hair I tweezed, I was impressed. There is nothing worse than a tweezer that does not tweeze.

I love this set and 4 stocking in my house will each have an Earth Therapeutics 4-pc. Eyebrow Grooming set

Recipe for Caramel Pecan Baked Brie with Kahlua

1 refrigerated or homemade 9” pastry crust

1 – 13 to 17 ounce brie wheel

4 ounces Annie B’s Baking Caramel (1/4 block)

3 to 4 tablespoons Kahlua liqueur

1 cup

1 egg

1 tablespoon water

Makes 1 baked brie.

Leave pastry crust at room temperature until it unrolls easily. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
Depending on size of brie wheel, you may need to roll pastry crust to a larger size. Roll from the center out so that crust is large enough to meet in the center when folded around cheese wheel.

Place pastry on prepared pan. Place unwrapped Brie wheel in center of pastry.

Melt caramel in the microwave in 15 second increments until melted and smooth. Stir in Kahlua until well combined. Fold in pecans. Spread on top of cheese wheel.

Bring up pastry over the top of the cheese wheel, pleating crust as you go. Beat egg and water in small bowl. Brush surface and sides with egg wash.

Bake for 20-30 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. Transfer to serving dish or platter and serve warm with mild flavored crackers.

DIY on the FLY Holiday Snow Globes

Making Snow Globes on Good Things Utah!

Making Snow Globes on Good Things Utah!

I Love the Holidays especially when it comes to making handmade decorations or gifts for my home, family and friends. My daughter has been collecting snow globes from around the world since she was small and we love to display them during the holidays and throughout the year. They are inexpensive and easier than you think to make. This is also a really fun project to do together with your kids, grand kids and teens! Here’s how you make your own snow globe. Have fun and email me photos of your creations to I would love to post them on my blog, social media and share them with the world. Now let’s make craft magic happen!

1. Mason jar or old jar that you wish to recycle. I have used pickle jars, pasta sauce or jam jars so look in your refrigerator or cabinets
before running out and buying something new.
2. Miniature embellishments or mini ornaments. (Michaels Craft Stores has a nice selection. You can also find them at most craft or hobby
3. Packaged snowflakes. (Michaels, Joanne Fabrics or most craft stores.)
4. (Optional) Spray Paint in desired color to paint your lid.
5. Hot glue gun.
Step One: (Optional) Use your spray paint to paint your lid.
Step Two: When your lid is dry begin placing your miniature embellishments onto the inside of your lid to create a festive scene that you are
happy with.
Step Three: When you are happy with your scene use your hot glue gun to glue your miniature embellishments in place.
Step Four: Sprinkle your snowflakes onto the bottom of the lid around your holiday scene. Put the glass jar over the lid and tighten until it
is completely closed. Voila! You have just created a beautiful snow globe!
Step Five: (Optional) You can add water to your snow globe if you like. I personally like them without the water just as much.
Note: If you are making these with small children substitute the glue gun for Elmers glue and let dry before adding the snowflakes.
These are so charming and delightful and they make a truly wonderful gift for friends, family or teachers. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Butterfly Studio Salon introduces Starlight Balayage.

A message from Butterfly Studios:

Butterfly Studio Salon Master Color Specialist/Loreal Professional artist Min Kim, in collaboration with Butterfly Studio Salon owner, Kattia Solano, introduces a new color trend to the market called Starlight Balayage.

Looking for extra glimmer this time of year? This new technique is a way to add a pop of shimmer to your hair without changing what you already like about it. Fight the winter blues by unleashing the star in you with the new winter balayage option that will light up your mane with a customizable, festive shimmer. For those that love more sparkle, that extra twinkle is achieved with a multi-star application. This technique is focused on parting & painting hair in the shape of a star – resulting in sparkly low maintenance color for the holidays and beyond. This technique can easily be adjusted to fit the level of shine (brightness/attention) you want to bring to your face or part. Keep it simple and subdued with one star at your face and/or part.

Whether you want to illuminate your favorite facial feature, create a face frame/frame the face, or show off a fabulous hair part – this technique can be easy customized for your preference and the hand-painted, free-hand sweeps of color can be as natural or pronounced as you wish. Butterfly Studio Salon highly recommends it for someone who hasn’t had color as it’s a comfortable place to start for the first time and an easy introduction to highlights. You can always go bolder later, or play with a look that fades to give just the ends more boldness. There’s so many ways to brighten up!

On the lighter hair example: This take on the Starlight Starbright technique includes multiple star patterned and pointed applications to achieve a more noticeable twinkle on the hair. The results are super low maintenance but just as dazzling. It’s another great way to balayage the winter blues away!

Wrap yourself around Lisa Hoffman Fragrances this holiday season

If you are not familiar with Lisa Hoffman Fragrances, let me tell you that you are in for a treat. I still wear my fragrance bracelet , and I am loving my new Serenity Trio. This trio of fragrances makes the perfect gift and ideal for stocking stuffers. Serenity Trio includes the fragrances Brazilian Begonia, Madagascar Orchid and Tunisian Neroli for only $49.99.

The slender glass perfume bottles are beautifully packaged, and I plan on using two of them as gift toppers. One of my favorite fragrances  is Tunisian Neroli, and I am keeping that one for myself.

Lisa Hoffman’s Fragrance Trio is available in two unique gift sets. The first is Serenity Trio, featured above. The second, the Floral Trio offers the fragrances French Clary Sage, Tuscan Fig and Japanese Agarwood. The fragrances are spectacular. Lisa Hoffman Beauty has an extensive fragrance line as well as fragrance jewelry that also make unique gifts. You can find the entire line of gifts for any occasion at

Genlux Holiday Issue

Thank you so much to Genlux Magazine for having me at your holiday issue launch party at the Rodeo Collection in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. It was amazing to see Beverly Johnson, the first African American woman to be on the cover of Vogue, who was the cover girl for this issue of Genlux! I love being involved with a magazine that combines high end fashion, art and philanthropy. The people apart of this magazine continue to put me in awe of their excellence and execution in creating such a respected publication. Thank you to Glam Squad for helping me get ready for this event. My favorite product for this look was the sparkle shimmer bronze eye shadow from Stila! Check it out at Sephora or online. Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday season and New Year!

Here I am on the red carpet last night….
