Smashing Smashbox Creates Killer Eyes

image002-1

image001

Smashing results for your eyes – wow – I have never used SMASHBOX before, but I recently came across the SoftBox PHOTO OP EYE SHADOW PALETTE IN SOFTBOX II.  The gorgeous ‘little black box’ the most beautiful colors – soft, warm, highly pigmented and creamy. With my dark, almost black brown eyes sometimes I need a pop. With this color palette I can go from day to evening in almost no time at all, but the colors stay on all day too.

The first time I put the makeup on, my daughter actually did the eye makeup. She’s an incredible budding makeup artist and I said – okay, why not? This day, believe it or not, she had been at the dentist and had five teeth pulled out, about five hours earlier.  (She had impacted baby teeth that would not come loose with adult teeth growing in).  She wasn’t completely recovered but was sitting on the couch and really not feeling too great.  As soon as the words, ‘Let’s try out that Smashbox Eyeshadow’ came rolling off my lips, she leapt off the couch and was in full force doing our eyes in no time.  Then of course we had a major photo shoot before she fell back into a lump on the couch. She claims her teeth hurt but I actually think Sponge Bob just pulled her back into TV Land.

The colors are highly pigmented and so creamy. And, they stay on all day long – looking as good in the morning as they do in the evening.  Recently I had one of those long, long days where I had two meetings, a lunch, an event at night, and then had to pick up my beau from the airport! Literally when I picked him up at 9:30 he said, ‘You look beautiful honey!’ Wow.

The other nice thing about this eye makeup is that its good for sensitive eyes. Sometimes makeup can irritate me, but not Smashbox!  I love the neutral colors. Perfect for my brown eyes! I’m Smashed!

You can find Smashbox Cosmetics at smashbox.com/ Sephora, Sephora inside JCPenny, Ulta, Nordstrom, www.beauty.com/, and select Macy’s      Price: $39.00

Make no mistake about it, MAKE is Great!

0-35

Make no mistake about MAKE makeup, it is a great product!!!  MAKE is the first for benefit colour cosmetics line launching on WeSeeBeauty.com.  The blush is a sheer, satin, soft-focus delicate finish that is long lasting  The Terra Cotta color was absolutely beautiful and created a soft delicate look to my skin. I have applied many high-end blushes and was amazed at the reasonable price of the MAKE make-up.  The blush came in a small, beautiful square box fitting very nicely in my purse.  It was the first time people have actually commented on the color of my blush and asking where I bought the product.

The MAKE foundation came in a light rectangular bottle making the application process very easy to use.  I was amazed with the velvety fluid foundation and how it diminished any skin imperfections and hid the lines and wrinkles on my face.  The foundation color was an exact match to my skin, making it look completely natural.  My skin actually had a soft glow, helping to gain back some youthful years.

The last product I was able to try was the lipstick.  I absolutely loved the packaging and small rectangular tube of the lipstick.  The pigment was neutral and went along with any color scheme I choose to wear for the day.  The lipstick was luscious and long lasting and the best part was it did not bleed on my lip-line.  A minimal amount of lipstick went a long way and moisturized my lips all day.  My husband even tried to plant a kiss on my lips and did not cringe when he tasted the lipstick!!!

0-36

Presently, I am going on the WeSeeBeauty.com  to purchase the eye shadow and eyeliner.  The product not only helps to make women beautiful but also one-third of all sales will support the non-profit organization, the We See Beauty Foundation dedicated to accelerate women-led, worker owned cooperatives. MAKE has certainly made my life easier by making me beautiful and supporting women in the workplace.

For All Things Star Studded…

I got the inside scoop on all hair and makeup tips. Celebrity Makeup Artist Marina Gravani created Mariah Carey’s Sun-Kissed makeup look for Jermaine Dupry’s party. See how you to can create this look at home.

MARINA’S PREP TIPS: “Make sure to visit a European Wax Center for waxing at least 2 days before an event or your makeup won’t hold on the area you waxed”

FACE: First, Marina applied oil-free primer to her skin.  Next, she mixed two silky cream foundations to create a natural looking hue.  She set the foundation using powder, but very lightly. Marina then applied bronzer to her cheek bones and around her face. Finally, Marina applied a hint of pink blush on her cheeks and across her nose.

EYES: For Mariah’s eyes, she started by applying concealer to her eyelids.  Next, Marina added a warm neutral toned shadow all over lid stopping at the crease. Marina then mixed different matte browns to blend into her crease and added black shadow to the corner of the eye to create a smokey effect. Next, she applied a thin line to Mariah’s eye and applied lashes using European Wax Center Tweezer Kit (SLANT) (to make her eyes pop on stage). Marina then applied a soft shadow through her lashes to balance out the eye. Finally, Marina applied European Wax Centers Natural Brow Powder in Milano where needed.

LIPS: For Mariah’s lips, Marina used a neutral brown lip liner with a mauve lipstick and a tad of a lighter beige

Products Used: European Wax Center Tweezer Kit (SLANT), European Wax Centers Natural Brow Powder in Milano

Natural Makeup that will Hydrate Skin

makeup natural ctFor those of you that want to try some natural makeup, I suggest Couler Caramel natural makeup.

Couleur Caramel, natural cosmetics are from the beauty capital of the world, Paris, which is one of the leading high-end make up lines. It provides vivid color, mineral oils, that are packed with pigment making these products long lasting.

The Couleur base de maquillage is very light but a very hydrating base which is an effective way to start your makeup. I love the squeezable  metallic container with the secure winding top.

I found the natural foundation to be very light and creamy and it gave me nice coverage that looked natural. The foundation went on smoothly and did not dry my skin.  I liked the hearty jars with the handsome wooden tops that it is packed in.

The lipstick was really nice because it added a great deal of moisture to my naturally dry lips. It comes in a thick cardboard container so it was very lightweight and could easily be put in a purse without the weight of some of the types of lipstick containers on the market.

Organically based cosmetics are reasonably priced.

Great Guide for Learning Camouflage Makeup

Gotcha Covered small makeup bookGotcha Covered by Judith August is a complete step by step guide on how to camouflage skin imperfections correctly with the right makeup and proper technique. It reveals ways to cover every flaw that one can imagine.  I found the book very informative with first hand information accumulated from the authors years of experience as a model as well as others who contributed from their experiences. The guide starts out by showing how to cover typical issues such as bags and dark circles and explains how to apply and layer the concealer. Then it gets more in-depth by showing its readers how to cover more sever problems by presenting proper techniques to mask these dilemmas such as covering veins ,birthmark s bruises, tattoo s and burn scar issues.
Additionally, the guide explores topics such as covering facial problems after plastic surgery.
