Beauty in Seaweed

If it’s good enough to put in your body, it’s good enough to put on your skin. That is what I have always said and believed. With Repechage Beauty from the Sea skin care, you can experience an all-natural skin routine made with seaweed with results you will not believe.   CEO and Founder of Repechage Lydia Sarfati has created the first line of seaweed- based skincare released in the U.S. She is the developer of the 4 layer facial and opened the first day spa in 1977 in Manhattan.

While at Premiere Orlando, in the midst of my hectic schedule, I got to stop and experience a relaxing facial from Repechage Skin Care.  While there I learned all about how their seaweed is found by professional divers in the oceans of France and brought back to Repechage headquarters in New Jersey.  After my facial was over (I didn’t want it to end) I also got to experience their line of mineral makeup and bring home samples of their new line of hair care as well.

Everything I tried from Repechage I LOVE. With me having extremely sensitive skin, there are only a few lines of cosmetics, and hair care that I can use. Repechage is one I can.

When I got home I gave myself a head to toe treatment with the Hair Spa Seaweed Mask, Hair Spa Serum,  Hydra Medic  7 Step skin care and topped it all off with Perfect Skin Liquid Foundation.  It was my own home spa day from the sea J

Every product is formulated with select seaweed plants.  Little did I know there are various kinds of seaweed and each product as its own special blend.  The only kind of seaweed I thought there was is the kind on sushi lol.

Next time you are looking for a relaxing spa day, a clean and natural way to cleanse your face, or give yourself an at home hair treatment, go for Repechage Beauty from the Sea products. To see where you too can find a Repechage salon, and get your own at home treatments visit www.repechage.com

The Sea Awaits!!!!

Celebrity Hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek uses White Sands Products to Create Brooke Burke’s “Dancing With the Stars” HairStyle

As a stylist I use and LOVE White Sands Infinity Hairspray. I use it in the salon I work at. It is the best hairspray I have ever used. See how the stars love White Sands too.

Brooke Burke Charvet’s look for the Dancing with the Stars performance finals was inspired by her dramatic Michael Costello gown,” reveals celebrity hairstylist Jonathan Hanousek.  “Her pompadour faux hawk with an oblong braided chignon helped balance the strong shoulders and textures of the dress.”

First I layered Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray and White Sands UnderCover Styling Spray on damp hair.

From the outside corners of the eyes, make 2 clean parts back to the crown and pin the section out of the way. Then, blow dry the rest of the hair with a medium round brush to create a smooth finish.

Take the sides of the hair and gather into a ponytail in the back. Fasten with a small rubber band. Clean up fly always using a fine tooth tail comb and White Sands Infinity Hairspray.

Using a small round brush blow dry the top of the hair concentrating on lifting the roots for volume. Spray a few pumps of Moroccan Oil Glimmer Shine Spray all over to smooth and add shine.

With your fingers and the blow dryer, push the hair up and towards the center to create your pomp. Use a few pumps of the White Sands Infinity Hairspray to hold the shape.

Place crisscross bobby pins down the center of the pomp and roll one side over to conceal, fastening with invisible hairpins. Think loose French twist and look in the mirror and adust the shape that’s best for your face. It’s best if it is not too symmetrical, it will look more interesting.

Let the rest of the hair cover the first ponytail. Fasten with a couple pins. Then, gather all the remaining hair and create a single braid.

Twist the braid up, tuck in the ends and fasten with bobby and invisible hair pins. Lock everything in with White Sands Stuck Up Mega Hold Hairspray.

“The Taming of the ‘Do” Hair Show in Orlando, FL

When you love something as much as I do, you will go to the ends of the earth to make sure that you learn and study everything you can about it.  I have been a licensed hairstylist now for 5 years and every day is a new learning experience and a challenge.   Many people think that a hairstylist learns everything in school. That is VERY, VERY wrong. The real education of a stylist comes with their first job behind the chair.  We learn the basics in school; it’s kind of like learning you ABC’s.  It is up to us to continue to grow and learn more.  Ask any celebrity hairstylist, or top stylist and they will tell you everything I just said.

Why am I telling you this, you are probably thinking?  On Monday, April 29, I took my skills to the next level at a hair show in Orlando FL, called The Taming of the ‘Do at the Shakespeare Theatre.  It was there that I learned the latest trends and techniques that I will use in my career.   Have you ever heard of a Texture Reformation? Maybe you remember it as a perm.  How about a texture reformation wrapped with pot scrubbers? Yes, POT SCRUBBERS.  That was the coolest thing I ever seen in my life.  Or a 4 strand braid up style? The latest cutting techniques?  With so much more to learn and share with others, I will never stop learning.

When I go to a show like that, it reminds me why I became a hairdresser.  My dream is to be a hair guru.  I love hair and even though I have only been doing this for 5 short years, I know my goal is right ahead.

Lovin’ Your Hair with Philip B

I am very excited to try the Phillip B Lovin’ Leave-in Conditioner. My hair being curly tends to get dry and feel brittle at times that anything “leave-in” has got my name written all over it. Our hair is the first thing people see and also reflects our allover health. So if it’s not healthy then it shows that we as humans are not taking care of ourselves. I know you are probably thinking that is crazy, but it is true.

Philip B Lovin’ Leave-in conditioner is formualted with all natural ingredients so you never have to worry about any harsh chemicals or ingredients being put into your hair. It also helps aid with frizz, and adding shine.
Just like you, I am eager to give Philip B a try. I have only used it once but that is not enough to see a change in the feel or look of my hair.

70th Annual Golden Globes of 2013

Just when you think the stars can’t shine anymore, they keep coming around the corner.  The gowns keep flowing, the jewelry continues to shine, and the hairstyles keep turning heads. With help from NEW Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion hair products, designer and “Fashion Star” mentor Nicole Richie dazzled the red carpet with her show stopping curls.

Here’s how Suave Professionals® Stylist, Jenny Cho, created Nicole’s red carpet look: · Wash hair with New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, and then blow dry hair using a large paddle brush. · Part hair on the side and begin curling with a one-inch barrel curling iron. Be sure to hold the curling barrel horizontal to the head. · After curling each section, use bobby pins to hold in place. · Blast hair all over with a hot dryer for 1-2 minutes to help set the curls. · Remove the bobby pins, lightly brush the hair to soften curls and finish with Suave Professionals® Touchable Finish Super Hold Hairspray. · Place 1-2 drops of the New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil in palms and rub hands together. Avoiding the roots, gently run hands over the surface of the hair to add a radiant shine. · Place the Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil in your clutch for touchups on the go.

Nicole also has a few tips that she can always count on to help shine on the carpet – or just a night on the town! · Identify your top feature and play it up – know your body and what silhouettes work for you. · With both makeup and accessories – focus on one bold item. For example, when doing a deep lip, leave eyes bare, or if wearing a statement necklace, keep the earrings simple. · Whether she’s doing an up ‘do or down and sleek for her hairstyle, she always goes for shine on the carpet. Her go-to product is the NEW Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil for brilliant, lightweight conditioning.
