Tips from Skyy Hadley and Lauren B. for beautiful Nails on your wedding Day

When it comes to summer but especially your wedding day, you want an elegant and polished manicure! See below for Lauren B. of Lauren B. Beauty’s new inspiration themed collection for her upcoming wedding as well as tips from celebrity manicurist Skyy Hadley, owner of As U Wish Nail Spa.

Skyy Hadley recommends all brides to keep their hands and nails hydrated. Follow her tips below for the best results:

The best thing brides can do is to keep their nails moisturized at all times; When they dry out they become brittle leading to chips and cracks
Use an oil on your cuticles nightly before bed to keep the skin around them conditioned
Protein on the nails is a must to keep them flexible, if nails stay hard they will break easy; A healthy balanced diet is essential

Healthy Spring Break Tips

Spring Break is right around the corner. It’s hard to stay focused at work, you have been waiting for this all year. Your mind is fantasizing about the hotel, sandy beaches, warm spring nights and drinks by the pool ahhh, good times are coming. While you are envisioning all of this did you think about how you will stay on track with your diet and exercise? No worries, I got you, here are a few things you can do to ensure that when you come home you wouldn’t have missed a step in your fitness routine and stay guilt free.

1. Eat what you want to eat – Yes, I said it. Go ahead and enjoy, in moderation of course. You want to eat conscientiously, (meaning be aware of what you are putting into your mouth) eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. You know that saying: “fat lasts longer than flavor”.

2. Fitness Center – When you are planning on which hotel you are staying in make sure they have a Fitness Center. I know there may be some late nights, so schedule an hour for your workout accordingly. If the hotel doesn’t have a Fitness Center no sweat my pet, just take that scheduled hour and walk along the beach or sidewalk. During the day, take the stairs instead of the evaluator. Walk instead of taking the tour bus. You will burn extra calories which is great because of those extra “drinks”.

3. Stay Hydrated – Drink lots of water! You want to keep water with you at all times. On Spring Break we tend to go on all the planned activities and forget to drink water. You don’t want to get dehydrated, it can cause you to be sluggish, dizzy and bloated. Even when you are having those special “drinks”, have at least one glass of water in between each drink.

You can Spring Break with the best of them, and not have the guilt when you get home. Enjoy your get away, relax and have fun in the sun.

Studio 10 Tampa DIY Easter Basket

I had so much fun today on the Studio 10 Tampa Show making a DIY tutu Easter basket. Easter is such a sweet holiday to share with family, friends and children. It’s religious significance is special but it’s also a day filled with magic as the Easter bunny appears alongside Easter bonnets, people dressed in their Sunday best, and of course the traditional Easter egg hunt which calls for a fanciful Easter basket to collect all your darlings sweet finds in! I have always loved making an Easter basket for my daughter and now it’s time for you to learn how to make one yourself.

Supplies: Basket, Tulle in desired color or colors, Ribbon (at least 4 yards), Silk flowers, Other desired embellishments such as crystals, buttons, vintage jewelry, Glue Gun with Glue Sticks, Scissors, and Spray paint in your desired color.

Step One: Spray paint your basket your desired color and let dry.

Step Two: Cut your tulle into 12” x 4” strips.

Step Three: Using two layers of cut tulle at a time use a crochet needle to pull your tulle through the slots in the basket and tie with a simple slip knot. Repeat this step around your basket alternating colors.

Step Four: Use your scissors to trim your tulle around your basket so that it is even.

Step Five: Embellish your basket with silk flowers, ribbon bows, buttons, vintage jewelry pieces around your basket and the basket handle anyway that you like. I love to add a few Swarovski crystals with my glue gun when I am finished for a little added touch. Get creative and have fun making it your Easter basket for your little darling to treasure forever!

Spring, a time for rebirth with ABC Home

uma oils

Spring….a time for rebirth, renewal and regrowth….we see it in nature and we also see it in ourselves. It is a time when we want to move more, we feel our senses come alive to the sights, sounds and smells of the season. We feel lighter, rediscover ourselves and we too like the flowers about to bud, reconnect with the spirit within. We awaken from winter’s hibernation and appreciate the beauty of the world around us.

The beauty is not just in the outside world, it is in our own selves as well. “All beings are flowers blossoming  in a blossoming universe” Soen Nakagawa. It was fitting then, on one of the first sunny, warm days in NYC that ABC Home, known for helping discover a world of inspiration and beauty for the home, turned the focus into finding a day to find our home within; a day to rediscover and treasure your unique beauty, by incorporating the beauty, wellness and wisdom of the season.

The day started off in Deepak Homebase , which is magical in its own right. It sets up a serene, tranquil and accepting environment which would be the backdrop for a day of bliss, self love and connection; a day of engaging with our greatest eco-brands and their founders; a day to set your intention in learning from masters.

The day started with insightful talks on astrology, yoga, lifestyle medicine, food, creating a peaceful economy and getting in touch with your intuition.  We learned from Spiritual Astrologer Demitra Vassiliadis that this spring the planets are lining up in order to get us to return to the deepest sense of value, what we love about ourselves and may have forgotten along the way. All of the topics discussed reinforced the importance of self love, acceptance and embracing your own uniqueness. To be united with the beauty we see.

The afternoon was a session for the senses. Flowering arranging with ABC Bloom, smudging with Incausa, aromatherapy with Palermo Body and Rahua. We discovered  wonderful ways to reconnect with your body such as aline your spine Alexander technique and healing tonics and elixirs such as Bija Bhar turmeric lattes, Four Sigmatic’s mushroom coffee, Moon Juice’s beauty dust lattes, Olivia Clementine tea sampling, salad dressings by Organic Culinary Argan Oil by Victoria Akkari, digestive bitters by Urban Moonshine, water sampling by Water Talk, and Welly Bottle  water infusions, beauty treatments such as Dr. Alkaitis reiki facials, Tracie Martyn hand and eye treatments, NUORI moisturizing masks, Rahua scalp massages, sampling of innovative products by Erbaviva, Indie Lee, Intelligent Nutrients, Kahina, Osea, tenoverten and UMA Oils helped stimulate the senses. And with hair styling by Yarok , the re discovering of ones inner beauty has begun!

Spring is the time of new beginnings…..

“The beautiful spring came; and when nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also” Harriet Ann Jacobs

Patience

There is so much I want to share with the world, that sometimes it’s hard to make sure everything I want to share is in the place I want it to be before I open my ideas to the world. I have been working on so many different things that I have input my love and passion into. However, the things I love and am passionate about take time to complete. As a college student trying to balance my personal life, school work, my career, and my overall well-being, it can get tough to figure out how to make time in the day for everything I aim to accomplish. I am currently on a journey that has taken precious time, but has taught me so much and enriched my life and spirit along the way. The cover I recorded with Elliot Lanam is completed and ready to be shared, but the video for the song is still in its editing phases. During times like these, I must remind myself and the people around me to endure patience. Patience is such a fundamental part of this life we are all living. So through my journey, I am learning to be more patient and will continue to put 100% of myself into everything I want to share with the world.

XOXO,
Lizzy

Shake Those Winter Blues

Now that the sun is shining and it gets darker later, we should be bursting with energy. But what if you’re not? Sometimes people need an extra push to get them out of that winter frame of mind while others (like myself) spring into action to get that vitamin D. Here are a few tips to get you outside.

Open those blinds – The house has been closed off for winter. Open those windows, blow out that stale winter air. Spring is here, keep the blinds open and let the sunshine fill your home. Not only will you be saving money by using natural sun light but you will feel happier than sitting in a dark closed room.

Take your dog for a walk – If you don’t have a dog borrow one. Studies show that just playing with dogs boost your happy level. Plus, with the sun shining it’s a perfect time to take Fido for a walk. It doesn’t have to be a long, drawn out walk, you can just take a 10-minute stroll around your block. The sunshine will release serotonin and you will feel happier and more energized. You get a double whammy, puppies and sunshine are sure to shake off those winter blues.

Meet with friends – Yes, getting out the house to meet with a friend for lunch will boost your mood. Even better if you eat outside on the patio you will get that sunlight. Surrounding yourself with people who are talking and laughing can improve your psyche. You are more likely to laugh when you are with others versus when you are alone. Just hearing laughter triggers something inside you that makes you want to laugh too. We all know that a smile is contagious go beyond that smile, tilt your head back and have a big belly laugh.

Ok, I just gave you that extra push you needed to get out of that winter frame of mind. Go ahead, open up the blinds, take a dog for a walk and meet up with friends, you will soon be energized and in the spring frame of mind. Enjoy this spring weather.

Clothing Brand That Donates 49% of Profits to Abused Dogs Trademarks its Slogan- Size Does Not Matter, Fit Does

April 5th, 2017. Los Angeles, CA. Antonio Stefano, the clothing brand that launched with world-class designs of hand-made Italian silk ties has come up with a slogan that is sure to be remembered worldwide. Although trying to raise money for dogs, the brand is striving to be a very innovative and cutting-edge brand, catering to the needs of the consumer. Both tall and short men have issues with neckties. As a response to that need, Antonio Stefano has created each of its 20 designs in three sizes: the standard 58”, 3 inches shorter, and 6 inches longer. The sizes are appropriately labeled: tall, taller, and tallest. That problem is now solved.

Both tall and short men have struggled for years with ties that don’t fit just right. If a tie does not fit right states Stefano Riznyk, the Chief Creative Director, you are better off without one. For a person who is short, the best option is to cut three inches off the tail of the tie and have it re-sewn by a tailor, which will add about $10-$15.00 to the cost of the tie.

For a tall person, the problem is insurmountable as the tail is so short that it does not fit behind the label or keeper loop, that are meant to keep it in place. As a result, the tail dangles and looks very unkept. The problem that both short and tall men endure, is that there are few designs to choose from in their size range and they are stuck with whatever is out there. Antonio Stefano is one of the few firms that offers every single design in 3 sizes, so men are no longer stuck with whatever they can find. The dazzling designs by Antonio Stefano are world-class and made completely by hand with Italian artisans in Lake Come, 30 minutes outside of Milan.

Although their trademark can be considered edgy, it will be easily remembered. At the end of the day, regardless of how you dress or what you do, fit will always make the difference over size!

Antonio Stefano neckties are available in Las Vegas, San Diego, Milan, and online at AntonioStefano.com.
