Demi Moore at the Screen Actors Guild Awards

Demi Moore at the Screen Actors Guild Awards

Makeup by Charlotte Tilbury

Demi Moore SAG Awards Presenter

By: Melinda Lombardi:

Saturday night SAC Award presenter Demi Moore stunned in a vintage Zac Posen gown with a timeless and elegant makeup look created by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.

When asked about the look, Tilbury said, “Demi and I wanted the makeup to match the elegance of the Zac Posen gown. I chose to go with my signature Dolce Vita eye look to enhance Demi’s amazing green eyes.”

Below, Tilbury shares the key steps she took to create Demi’s look:

  1. To prep Demi’s skin and ensure a flawless canvas, Charlotte applied Magic Cream to the entire face and then Magic Eye Rescue to the eye area. Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow was applied to create a flawless soft focus finish, which acted as the perfect base to the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in 6 Medium (NEW – available in March 2016).

  1. Charlotte applied Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand in Shade 2 underneath the eyes, then used The Retoucher Concealer in 3 Medium where needed and rid the skin of any unwanted oils with a dusting of Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder in 3 Dark.
  2. Next, Charlotte used Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift in Cara D to perfect Demi’s brows and frame her face.

  1. For the eyes, Charlotte applied her Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita to make Demi’s green eyes sparkle, and then applied Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl in Barbarella Brown in a feline flick on the top lash line to elongate her beautiful lashes. The eyes were finished with Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara on top and bottom lashes.

  1. Charlotte then used Hollywood favorite Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light-Medium to highlight and add a subtle glow.

  1. Charlotte applied Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blusher in onto the apples of Demi’s cheeks.

  1. To complete the look, Charlotte lined Demi’s lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Hollywood Honey and followed with Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl.

GET THE LOOK: Maura Tierney at The Golden Globes

Maura Tierney at The Golden Globes

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – JANUARY 10: Actress Maura Tierney attends the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 10, 2016 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

Celebrity Makeup Artist Matin Maulawizada worked with winner Maura Tierney from The Affair for tonight’s Golden Globes. Below is how to get the look from Matin.

Matin’s Inspiration: Late 60’s glam.

Skin: I prepped her skin by using Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil all over her face and body and Talika eye patches while she was getting her hair done. I then followed that with Avon ANEW Power Serum and Avon ANEW Ultimate Multi-Performance Eye System follow by Laura Mercier primer and Orlane lip balm to moisturize and prep her lips.
Face: I tanned her up a couple of shades darker by using Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Liquid Foundation in Soft Honey. For the cheeks I brightened her up with Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Warm Flush and used Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls on high points of her face for further glow and tan.

Eyes: I lined her eyes with Avon Mega Effects Liquid Eye Liner in Black and a mix of #3 shadows from Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Warm Sunrise and Gilded Metallics. I finished off the eyes with Avon Big & False Lash Volume Mascara. For her brows, I used the Avon Perfect Eyebrow Kit in Soft Brown.

Lips: I wanted to give her a dramatic pale lip so I used the Avon Glimmersticks Lip Liner in Nude with Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Perfectly Nude.

GET THE LOOK: Saoirse Ronan at the Golden Globes

73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – JANUARY 10: Actress Saoirse Ronan attends the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 10, 2016 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

THE LOOK: A modern version of a Grecian hairdo with elements of gold threading as a back accent.

INSPIRATION: Celebrity hairstylist, Adir Abergel, gave Saoirse a beautiful modern style for tonight’s Golden Globes. “I loved how Saoirse’s Yves Saint Laurent dress was both romantic and modern at the same time – I wanted to bring in elements of the sleek, shiny and graphic lines to complete the look,” he says.

Here is a step-by-step breakdown:

·         I prepped the hair by applying NEW John Frieda Luxurious Volume® Perfectly Full™ Mousse all over the roots.

·         I created the part by following the highest arch in the brow and blew her hair dry with a round brush. I then created a very sleek finish to the hair texture by flat ironing the ends.

·         Once the hair was shiny and sleek, I took the side of her hair with the deep part and tucked it behind the ears for a clean look and sprayed with John Frieda Frizz Ease® KeraFLEX™ Flexible Hold Hairspray.

·         To start working on the back of the hair, I created some criss-crossing cornrow braids just under the ears and wrapped the braids with gold thread to add some great architectural lines to the look. Once I wrapped the braids in gold, I went over the back of her hair one more time with a flat iron to ensure a beautiful high finish.

·         To complete this look, I took the crisscrossed braids and pinned them in place over the flat ironed hair to make two lines of gold.

·         For the last step and a finishing touch, I applied John Frieda Frizz Ease® Expert Finish™ Polishing Serum on the ends.

CRYOTHERAPY: THE ‘ICE BATH’ OF THE 21ST CENTURY

CRYOTHERAPY: THE 'ICE BATH' OF THE 21ST CENTURY

CRYOTHERAPY: THE ‘ICE BATH’ OF THE 21ST CENTURY

www.skintologyny.com

Whole Body Cryotherapy is the exposure of the entire body to extreme cold (-110 to -170 degrees Celsius), lowering the client’s skin surface temperature to approximately 32 degrees F in 30 seconds. This remains nearly constant throughout the entire session (up to 3 minutes!). Skin receptors sense the cold and send signals to the brain to promote regulatory functions. It basically stimulates the body’s natural response to decrease inflammation, pain, spasms and promote healing. Endorphins will be released into the bloodstream, which relax the body and toxins will be flushed out. This process puts users in a very energetic  mood, that can last up to 8 hrs. Most people experience their best night of sleep after a cryo session. This modality is now available at Manhattan’s SkinTology Medi-Spa.

Whole Body Cryotherapy was first utilized in Japan in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis. In 1998 Russian scientists modified the system which allowed for the technology to become more advance and revolutionary. Skintology’s machine is manufactured and developed in Russia.

Studies conducted over the last two decades have established WBC as a powerful treatment for inflammatory disorders, injuries, and muscle and joint pain. WBC can also be used to treat conditions such as fibromyalgia and rheumatism. The immediate release of endorphins can help with insomnia, fighting depressing and decreasing psychological stress. The accelerated production of collagen improves skin elasticity and texture, reversing skin aging and the appearance of cellulite. Additionally, studies have shown a 500-800 calorie after burn associated with the body’s process to warm itself up. WBC boosts the body’s metabolic rate, accelerating weight loss outcomes. Professional athletes have discovered WBC as a powerful treatment to decrease recovery time and increase athletic performance.

The list below features some of the benefits ‘whole body cold-therapy’ can do for you:

* Decrease in inflammation (anti-inflammatory), pain relief and improved mobility

* Fast recovery from injuries/surgery

* Reduction of cellulite appearance

* Dramatic stimulation of the immune system (boost!), hormones and nervous system

* Instant relief of chronic joint pain

* Burn 800 calories and more; stimulation of the metabolism for weight control

* Stimulates skin regeneration and visibly reduces the signs of aging, wrinkle reduction

* Alleviation of headaches/migraines and physical/mental stress

* Improvement of skin complexion and certain skin disorders

* Increased energy, improved sleep and helps with insomnia

* Improved rheumatoid and osteoarthritis

* Can help reduce itching and inflammation in serious skin conditions (psoriasis/eczema)

* Enhances sports performance and increases muscular resistance to fatigue

* Increases libido/sexual stamina

* Stronger hair and nails

* Helps to provide relief from nerve pain

* Stronger, fuller Hair

* Psychological competitive edge

The staff at Skintology is vigilant about checking a client’s blood pressure before and after the treatment. They never leave someone unsupervised in the sauna.  Technicians also meet with prospective patients and all medical and health concerns are discussed during this consultation to make sure someone is an appropriate candidate.

Will I feel discomfort during the treatment?

Most individuals are surprised to feel how tolerable a cryotherapy session is given such extreme temperatures.  The nitrogen in our cryosauna creates a “dry” cold, which is much more comfortable than an ice bath.  We will provide you with gloves and socks to keep your hands and feet warm.  Our friendly technician will talk you through it and make the three minutes pass quickly and easily.

Can I return to my daily activities following a treatment?

Yes, there are no restrictions to your activities following a cryotherapy treatment.

How often should I do cryotherapy?

We recommend that our patients do their first ten sessions within thirty days and then decide how often they would like to continue.  Many benefits such as a rush of endorphins and better sleep can be experienced as early as the first session, however maximum results are obtained with repeated treatments.

Who is a good candidate for cryotherapy?

People from a wide range of lifestyles and ages are a good candidate for this treatment.  While it is certainly helpful to athletes and those with chronic pain, it is also highly recommended for individuals who simply want to improve their overall health and appearance.  However, there are some conditions that would preclude an individual from utilizing this treatment.

Alicia Vikander at the 19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Alicia Vikander

Makeup by Charlotte Tilbury

Swedish actress and on-the-rise starlet, Alicia Vikander, stunned on Sunday’s red carpet at the 19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards in Los Angeles. In a sophisticated, yet edgy black dress and makeup by Charlotte Tilbury, Alicia was picture-perfect as she accepted the Hollywood Breakout Actress Award for her role in ‘The Danish Girl.’

“Alicia wanted a contoured, sultry but modern makeup look, to go with her gorgeous leather Louis Vuitton dress. Hair was pulled back into a sleek twisted bun. The burnished deep copper shades from my Dolce Vita Eye Palette was chosen to compliment her skintone and bring out her eye colour.” – Charlotte Tilbury.

Here are a few key steps that Charlotte used to create the look:

1.      To prep the skin, Charlotte applied Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask on Alicia’s face and neck for 10 minutes to tighten, smooth, hydrate and give skin an extra boost of radiance.

2.      Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream was generously massaged on her face and neck to deliver the perfect amount of moisture to skin.

3.      Charlotte then applied a sheer layer of Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow all over the face. Wonderglow is a red carpet essential as it fills in wrinkles and scatters light to blur away lines and flood the skin with luminosity.

4.      A combination of Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Youth-Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation in Shades 6 & 8 was used to even out Alicia’s complexion and give her a radiant glow.

5.      Next, she used Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher in Shades 2 & 3 for under the eyes areas, around the nose and to cover a few minor imperfections.

6.      Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in Shade 1 was applied under Alicia’s eyes, and Shade 2 was applied around her nose to help blur away lines and imperfections. The super luxe powder is a must-have for the red carpet because of how finely milled the powder is, giving an immaculate complexion with a bright, illuminating finish.

7.      To give more dimension and contour to Alicia’s face, Charlotte applied Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow with a large brush around her jawline and forehead. The bronzer is the perfect universal blend of pearl and pigment to mimic a sun-kissed complexion.

8.      To fill in and elongate Alicia’s brows, Charlotte used Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift in Cara D.

9.      Next, she applied Prime from the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette to the inner corners of the eye and Prime from the Vintage Vamp Palette to the entire eyelid.

10.  Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl in Barbarella Brown was used to line the top lid into a feline flick.  Charlotte finished the eyes with two coats of Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes on top and bottom lashes.

11.  Charlotte prepped Alicia’s lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Magic, then applied Matte Revolution in Walk of Shame for the perfect pout.
