First college quarter of Freshman year complete…WHAT

Hello friends,

So sorry I haven’t blogged in a minute, I just had my first week of college finals. I’m pretty sure I spent seven hours a day on the fourth floor of my school’s library for the past week. My first set of finals as a college freshman is now complete. WOW—I honestly can’t believe it and I also can’t believe how much coffee I consumed. Now that they are over, I am officially done with my first quarter of college! That is scary…and I know everyone in the universe says this but WHERE has the time gone? I am still in shock every time someone asks me about myself and I say: “Well I am in college…” It’s weird.

I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better first quarter of college. The insanely caring group of friends I made, the beautiful sunsets I got to watch on the sand, riding my fixie to class, eating Blaze pizza, doing phone interviews in my dorm room, I wouldn’t trade a second of it for anything in the world. College is such an incredible time. I am surrounded by people who are eager to make the most of every day, it fuels me.

Now that I’m officially done and on winter break, I get time to focus on writing new songs and reading new scripts—two of my favorite things. I am leaving for a ten-day cruise to the Caribbean with my whole family today and I will definitely be taking lots of photos to share with all of you.

Yesterday I had an interview for the Inside Noise at Mixology at the Grove LA, so check that out!

Remember to find the silly moments of everyday, eat lots of chocolate, drink lots of green tea (it’s good for your skin and a better source of caffeine than coffee) and stop and take a look at all that surrounds you. Before you know it, everything flashes by. Enjoy the day.

P.S. Don’t forget to keep up with me! All my social media links are on Elizabethsmall.com, and if anyone has a blog topic suggestion or something specific they want me to write about, LET ME KNOW!

Much love,

Lizzy

And so it begins here….

Hey Guys! My name is Elizabeth Small but most people call me “Lizzy!” I’m really excited to be starting my own blog here on It’s a Glam Thing! I am an eighteen-year old girl from Los Angeles, California and the youngest of four sisters. I have been dancing since the age of two, which pushed me into my acting and singing careers. I currently attend the University of California at Santa Barbara as a Communications/Film and Media Studies major and I live on the beach! Yes, I go to regular college and pursue my professional career—I know, it’s a little crazy! At times, it can be very challenging to balance schoolwork, sorority life as a Pi Beta Phi, auditions, interviews, meetings and more. But at the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade my crazy and overwhelming lifestyle. It is often times a wild roller coaster, but it is such an amazing adventure and I truly learn something new everyday. Last year, during my senior year of high school, I wrote and recorded my first four track EP with an awesome music producer named David Pramik. This past summer after my high school graduation, I decided to create a Kickstarter project to help fund the making of a music video for the single off my EP called “Gravity.” My project ended up being funded in 3 days and we went well over my initial goal; it was amazing to gain support from people all over the world and attract attention to my passion for music. In August, with the help of a great director named Sean Williams who cast me in an upcoming Syfy film called “Adam 8,” we put together a remarkable team and filmed my music video in two days! The first day was filmed at a studio and the second day at my own childhood home in my backyard! Filming my music video was so much fun. It ended up being one great big party combined with intense hard work. It was a wonderful experience that can never be replaced and it is something I will remember forever. This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to share my new experiences with its a glam thing! Feel free to check out my single “Gravity” on Soundcloud and my music video on Youtube. I’m so excited to begin this journey of explaining my quirky life to all of you. Here’s to swimming in the ocean, going to hot yoga with friends, dressing up for a frat party, filming scenes on a movie set, recording in the studio, to cramming for finals! Don’t forget to keep up with me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, IMDB, Youtube and Soundcloud. All these links can be found on my website: Elizabethsmall.com

XOXO,

Lizzy
